This used to be a great clinic. Now the prices are absolutely outrageous. When I asked why the bill was so astronomically high, they flat out lied and said my fiance indicated that we did not need an estimate. This is on top of the $637 bill we had just paid a couple weeks ago for another one of our pets. Never again.

I absolutely LOVE VCA COUNTY WEST in Kankakee, Il! We have 2 dogs that we’ve been bringing them to since they were puppies ! One of our fur babies isn’t quite “ normal” we got him when he was only 2 weeks old . He was raised by humans and it shows . He has HUGE HUGE anxiety and fear that everyone is out to hurt him or us , his mom and dad ..He’s very scared when it comes to “strangers” and when he’s scared he sometimes can even act “ aggesive” . Anyway , our baby ( he’s 95 lbs ) had a seizure.. still unknown why.. all his blood work came back normal.. but I just want to give a HUGE thank you to his tech , Melinda Montgomery, otherwise known as Mindy .. she made this difficult visit so much easier by being very knowledgeable about Migo’s anxiety issues . She was very comforting to Migo and made him feel more at ease. And Dr B was also amazing !!! She also saw Migo’s fear and handled the situation so well !! We didn’t even have to put a muzzle on him ! I can’t say enough about VCA county West !! I love them !! Highly recommend!! The black and white one is Migo ! But thank you again Melinda and Dr B !! You guys have one of the hardest jobs ever ! You never know when a bite is coming 😭😭 . I will always bring my fur babies to VCA !!

The staff at VCA is phenomenal. They were always willing to take the time to explain all options available for treatment, and I never felt like they were pushy. They took wonderful care of my Louie every time we had a visit. Unfortunately, Lou passed last year, but VCA is still at the top of my list. I will be bringing the newest feline addition to our family to see them soon!

Took my 14 year old dog to VCA after being misdiagnosed at another Vet. VCA was great;, the vets all top notch, inside is very clean and welcoming. They all went above and beyond caring for Jake. My vet was Dr. G.

I love Dr Finks and Lacy at VCA. They have been incredibly supportive and loving of my Sarah dog. Both have taken amazing care of her and genuinely care for her. All of the staff at the front are so kind and accommodating. It’s a wonderful feeling to walk in and Sarah dog is treated with the biggest welcome. I am obviously too but they are so excited to see her each time which makes the appointments that much easier.

All the staff were absolutely amazing and compassionate. I made a very difficult decision to have my baby go in peace, and from the second we arrived until we left, they were outstanding. Very thoughtful and gave us all the time we needed. I highly recommend.

The staff is professional and show true concern for the pets they treat. This is especially true for the two vets who transferred there in 2015. They are the best. They took loving care of my cat who suffered from multiple illnesses, and treated us with respect. I could not imagine ever trusting my pet's life to another veterinary clinic.

All staff is so wonderful from the front desk to the vet tech to the actual veterinarians I have met there. They take the time to explain my little dog (who I treat like my child) They are all very understanding, listen to every concern and answer ALL of my silly questions!!SO happy!

One of the veterinarians has a passion for cats. This has been so wonderful since many vets focus on dogs primarily and cats secondarily. The staff are efficient, but they listen and really care about the animals.

I have never walked into this vet office, but the price quote I was given was outrageous. I'm doing a Trap Neuter Return project in Kankakee, and was told this clinic has the best rates for a TNR package by a local rescue. It turns out that several of the cats are friendly, so I was going to take them here for their spay/neuters before handing them off to their receiving rescues.When I called today to get a price quote, I was told $400 just for the spay/neuter. I asked the receptionist to verify that was for a cat spay/neuter and she said yes and that didn't include vaccinations. Most other vets are around $75. Needless​ to say, I would not recommend this clinic to the average pet owner.

This is my first dog I have A 4 month old pit bull very interjectic and love to play. For some reason she caught parvo A disease that kill dogs at a 80% death rate. I noticed she wasn't eating and very lazy, she out of nowhere started vomiting yellowish fluids and also popping yellowish. I brought her to the VCA COUNTY WEST ANIMAL HOSPITAL I was in and out 15 mins and this is the next morning 6:54a.m she is doing A 100% better back playing and she ate A treat no I'm waiting on the poop? The vet was very nice informative and very generous as well as gentle with my dog and me 5stars.

The staff and Doctor's are very caring and were very kind during the loss of our dog. I highly recommend all pet owners in the area to consider using County West. A very compassionate group.

I am giving one star due to the fact of how unorganized and overpriced they are. Also, they discontinued my pet's immunotherapy without enough notice which upset her horribly considering that she is allergic to humans. And I received nothing to alleviate her symptoms. Don't waste your time at this hospital.

Nice facility, veterinarians and staff are nice but they are ALWAYS running late. I’ve been here 4-5 times in the past 6 months and have always waited a minimum of 30-45 minutes past my appointment time before seeing the veterinarian, sometimes longer.

We use to love County west until VCA took over..They have cancled and rescheduled my appointments twice, which is a problem when i reschedule work for the original appointment..Also turned away on an emergency vist, told go to Mokena....They only care about money is a corporation now..Dont waste your time or your pets
