Kankakee Ace delivery truck knocked over our mailbox in and refused to take responsibility for their actions. The manager was extremely rude and denied it all. This Ace location is not the helpful place. I suggest staying away from this place and taking your business somewhere that actually conducts business with Integrity.

Just about everytime I've gone here an employee ask if I need help right away. Always helpful and very knowledgeable about where things are. And that helps cut my time in half. As I am usually in the middle of a time sensitive situation this is important.

The young man who welcomed me into the store was very attentive and helpful and to the point when I got there looking for some parts for my granddaughter’s bathroom sink. I didn’t waste anytime at the the store and I like that. I’m not from the area I’m just visiting but if I was this would definitely be one of my favorite stores to visit for my needs because good and efficient service is always appreciated!

Glad I found this place; they actually had what I needed and directed me directly to the purchased items; both courteously and professionally. Not sure but it looks like a well kept mom & pop store. Here we go again, seeing these types of stores out-shines the big boys like lowes, menards and the like; maybe they're not as consumed over more profits, just simply providing good service. I love my Ace , had not been there in yrs., did not know they had great furniture. In fact they have the best recliners I have ever seen. One gives you a massage & rock you . The end tables with the cell phone plug ins & drink holders. Just like the movies. I have a cocktail trunk in my house & a few must have! That's not all comparatively good PRICES !!

Forget the bigger stores. If you need personalized attention from people who actually know what they're talking about go to Ace! I recently dealt with 2 other stores and was given wrong information and thought that my home project was a bust, but the Ace employees were amazing and explained to me what needed to be done and sure enough they were right and my home project is now complete! The employees here are friendly and knowledgeable and the prices are often better than other stores.

Good place to get some need for repairs and or other needs. But I went here looking for a turbine oil, and they didn't have it. But they went out of there way to look online. Unfortunately they could only buy a case of my oil and couldn't get just one bottle. I left the Ace Hardware in Manteno to drive the long extra miles to this location because the cashiers at the Manteno location were so unwelcoming. I'm glad that I did so because the Ace Hardware in Kankakee is so much better. The cashiers are so humble, friendly, and informable. They made me feel so much better because I had been doing farmwork all morning. I was dirty but it didn't matter to them. They treated me how every customer should be treated. The experience I had at this location really brightened up my day. Very authentic, friendly, and welcoming people here!

Certainly a helpful hardware store with staff who can help you solve your project needs. More convenient than going to the big box stores...but plan ahead they close around 5 or 6pm.
