Worst experience ever. Went to 5 different associates (all under 21) and got pointed all around the building. In the wrong direction by the way. They pulled out their phones for direction. I could have and did do that but the aisles were confusing. Crazy how they put them on the floor with no knowledge of product placement. A 20 min trip turned into an hour long trip. Home Depot from now on.

Our association recently asked us to change our mailbox! Menards in Joliet made it simple and took less than 2 hours total for the entire process on a 90 degree summer day!! We purchased literally 3 items total and installed it all ourselves and we couldn't be happier with the level of service, commitment and cleanliness this store withholds on a daily basis!! We are constant customers and give this location 20 out of 5 stars!!! Kudos to all staff, management and regional management!! We see you!!!

I’m very disappointed. We rented a truck from this Menards and there was an issue with our product being in stock after they told us it was ready for pickup. We ended up switching to a different color since we already had the truck rented but it took 50 minutes to accomplish all of that so we went to customer service and explained the situation. They wrote on our ticket to take an hour off when we returned the truck since it was not our fault the item wasn’t in stock, it was the stores fault. They charged us the overage anyway. Very shady and unprofessional. I will never rent a truck from here again.

I generally find shopping at Menards to be a pleasant experience - until they stole from me by selling used goods, poor quality ones at that. Many online reviews rate their customer service poorly. Until now I have not had that experience. I recently bought 3 Patriot brand light strips. One was obviously a customer return. It was dirty and scuffed. In addition, parts were missing from the opened box that were in the two NEW boxes. I appreciate being able to easily return an item. However, returned items should only be sold as distressed or at least open-box. Re-selling used goods is the same as stealing. It is deceitful and immoral. I suspect they prosecute people who steal from them. Menards has proved to be no better than a common thief. I gave two stars only because not all of my experiences have been like this. But once is more than enough!

Bought 2 30 to 50 amp RV adapters Saturday morning, neither one supplied any power to our motorhome, good thing the camp host had a spare till I could run to town and pick up a Cdiamco name brand which, ad the job. Cheap junk at Menards from China

This happened a few months ago. I'm having ptsd thinking about how angry i was. I tried returning a defecting table saw that could be used as a table top saw. The adjustable leg was on one of the 3 longer legs. I used the saw since I didn't see the leg till I tried using it as a table saw. I tried returning it and get a refund but the customer service and manager refused and gave me an exchange instead. So as soon as we left joliet location, we drove to crest hill and returned it. It was so inconvenient and unnecessary for me to drive to crest hill to return it.

1) I am a female, 30+. While shopping today at Menards, I needed assistance from an associate. While in conversation with her, a male customer approached us and interrupted us to ask a question. I spoke up and told him "I'm sure she will be glad to help you when she is finished helping me." He then acted insulted, and the associate stopped helping me to answer his question. There was another associate within 5' of us, not busy with a customer. The associate helping me then stopped to take care of his question. Neither the customer nor the associate seemed to think there was anything disrespectful to me in this behavior. I was wearing neon yellow at the time, so I know he saw me.This has happened MANY times at Menards (at least 10); there is a general attitude that male customers deserve better service.2) I called the store to finally express my displeasure at this level of service, and spoke with a young man with a title of "front end manager." (Kohlson) He didn't seem to feel my concerns have any merit, and denied that could be a "gender issue." His stated reasoning was that they are taught to take care of aggressive customers first, even if they interrupt. I sincerely doubt he has had much personal experience with "gender issues," (especially since he is about 20) but so be it. He then gave a guest services number. His attitude was very brusque, brushing me off.3) The message at the Guest Services number states Menards is dedicated to customer service. However, there is no way to speak with a person. I am editing my review now because it turns out Mal wasn't 100% truthful. The instalation kit for the countertop we were told would have all the supports we would need. It didn't. The delivery people charged us an extra 50 bucks for service to bring the countertop into our home, which we paid because that is where we wanted it. Day of delivery they said, "nope, not going inside your home."Previous:Excellent service today from Mal, she was so helpful and informative. We have put off getting an island for our kitchen for 10 years...she made it so easy we are kicking ourselves for waiting so long!

My partner and I stopped by for an order pick up yesterday. Three wonderful men helped us load my car. I wish I remembered all their names but I believe two of them are named Jade and Kelly. They were absolutely kind and helpful. We had no cash on us and wished we could have tipped them each. They deserve that and more! It was pretty busy and never once did they change their kind demeanor. Most of my order was picked up and the rest they said they should have in 1-2 weeks which we can absolutely manage.

We've shopped here for years and spent $$$$, the last few times shopping, employees were too busy talking amongst themselves then helping or answering any questions. Today was the last straw, we decided to buy a bunch of mulch, I was under the impression, someone could help us load. Even heard the request over the Walkie Talkies, no one showed. The 3-4 that were all around even watching, laughing & having a good ol' time with other employees, didn't even offer to lend a helping hand. We'll shop at Lowes or Home Depot with better customer service.

Menards has been our go-to store for home supplies and other items. I get dog and cat food here, as well as birdseed, and my husband gets snacks, tools, furnace filters, and other home improvement items. We skip going to closer home improvement locations now and prefer to shop here. The rebates are a great draw too!

Nice sized store but the employees have staring problems. We had to go to the location for a shower head that wasn’t at my location. The vibe was super uncomfortable. Is it my hijab? I’m use to getting looks as a Muslim woman for various reasons, good and ignorant, but that definitely made me uncomfortable enough to leave a review. That was super weird 😂 never going back there. I felt unsafe.

Always a nice experience in Menards, however, your bathrooms really NEED a good cleaner who cleans the toilets, they have been a hot mess lately. Otherwise the rest of this store is clean, neat, organized. Shape up those bathrooms use deodorizer too.

Rude floor manager named Danielle her assistant would not provide nam. Spent over 450 buying a screen door. When I realized it would not fit I asked if I could go get my truck and leave the door there and I’d return in 10 minutes. She ended up saying they can’t watch my storm door 24-7 and that I would need to go back to the area where I got the item from and get some “hold ticket…” I commented that I was paying for my other items and didn’t realize that the door wouldn’t fit. She said that I needed to go back to that department and request some tag. I couldn’t do that since I already had a cart full of items. She would not provide me with a mangers information and only said she was the manager. I ended up speaking to a nice lady named Michelle that said she would address the issue. Still I won’t be returning and I guess I’ll have to go to Home Depot . When I did return Danielle’s “assistant” which she claims. kept staring at me and making comments to another employee and laughing. It’s a shame because the majority of people that work their are really nice. I won’t be returning they got enough of my money already I just really needed the screen door is the only reason I returned.

Best "big box" hardware store in the area. Lumber, rope, and chain selections are lacking a bit but prices are fair and employees don't hassle you like they do at the orange and blue stores do. It can take a little longer to get help from an employee but not much and I'll take that over having someone breathing down my neck in every aisle any day. Employees are generally helpful and always polite. Definitely my go-to hardware store for most things but anything hard to thing find our very specific you are better of at the red store or shopping online. They also fill propane tanks more full than other places that "fill" tanks.
