I am so glad the bakery manager saved this cake yesterday. Prior to that the cake I had a hour prior to that from the cake decorator Erik looked like a 2 year old wrote on it and then the 8 inch cake was put in an 8 inch container all smashed……. And the cake decorator was sure proud of his creation I really wish I had a picture. It was all on angle lower case, cursive mixed together. Come on Jewel do better or your going to loose ALOTTTTTTT OF CAKES!!! I couldn’t have brought that original decorated cake to the party and that would have been embarrassing. Then the guy at self checkout made sure to make a big issue about the cake- when customer service KNEW what had happened. Do better Jewel otherwise I’ll be going elsewhere for cakes! Can you imagine if I had only ordered that yesterday 24 hours prior to Saturday - which is why I came there because 3 other Jewels told me the same thing but honestly I ordered a week prior that’s NORMAL time for a cake. Also while I was waiting for the cake some of the people working there were using the same old excuse- they are unstaffed blah blah blah. Then guess what don’t take cake orders until it can be done nicely and correctly the first time!

Check your expiration dates. They always have expired things on their shelves. Half the time things on sale are expired which is probably why they’re on sale.The day after I wrote this I found an $8 jar of peanut butter I bought 2/11/24 that expired 10/18/23. How does 4 month expired peanut butter sit on the shelf for that long? And it was in the front, not hidden in the back. We’ve found deli meat that was months expired, veggie sausages, ketchup…you name it. We have learned the hard way to always check the expiration date before buying from this store!!!

Long story short, I walked in the store this morning getting stared at with no greeting and heard one of the produce guys rate me a C- and the other howl. The one who gave me my score tried approaching me a couple times after I told them I heard what they said.Thats what I got to worry about?!?!grabbing groceries and getting my feelings hurt?...tell those employees to be look in the mirror and be kind

I've been coming here my whole life. The quality of this store is down bad. Oh and if you want hot food be prepared to wait in line for about an hour and be greeted with an attitude. I go to KFC for my chicken now.Edit: April 8th 2024. Had online pick up order ready at 9. Couldn’t stop by until 11. When I went to pick up my order I noticed my produce was sitting out of the refrigerator. I did not like that all. I don’t know how long it was sitting out for.

Every year I order all of my Children’s cakes from here as well as my siblings. This time it was for my son turning 11. We ordered a WWE cake. We thought the portrait would be the size of the cake but it was a 4-5inch square in the upper corner. I’m glad I purchased a wwe cake topper previously otherwise this cake would of been a bust. The icing wasn’t even covering the whole cake. All the corners you could see exposed cake. The writing was terrible. No way an experienced cake designer wrote that. Cake was ok but nothing like it used to be. I expected more for $47 for a 1/4 sheet of cake. I do not know what happened to this bakery. Not sure I’ll be back for cakes.

This place is always clean, fully stocked and a savior for last minute dinners for us busy Moms. I ordered my daughter birthday cupcake-cake over the phone & I was so worried not being able to have a picture to go off of, but I was pleasantly surprised by the care, dedication and sheer artistry!

Horrible with their pick up/ delivery service. They go out of their way to give the oldest most moldy produce to just get rid of it (this way for profit). This is to a point where they are obviously being told by superiors to do so. They also do not understanding the bagging process. Unfortunately, this is my local ‘delivery’ location, and I used them because I am unable to drive, I’m disabled. I just cannot anymore. You shouldn’t either. :(

I am a truck driver and anytime I get a chance to come to this store I do! I love the mango leather that they sell. So I stock up anytime I get the chance. I have not been able to find it anywhere else. Friendly helpful staff. I love that the store has organics.

It was ok. Didn't have what I was looking for, they had a display buy one get one free,, but, when you looked at a different section, the same stuff was cheaper when you bought 4 instead of two. Like the burger patties.2 patties-$8.99 buy one get 1 freeOr4 patties $6.99 on the other section

Stores is always clean and looking good! I love Jewel's Meat!🍖🥓 The Bakery items are always so fresh and so yummy 🤤😋! My favorite is the Homemade Chocolate 🍫 Chip Cookies 🍪! Unless you shop the sales they can be a bit overpriced!

Okay I gave Jewel the most stars that you can give us a place due to their staff being very helpful they're shelving very full they're produce being very fresh I bought a papaya within two days was able to cut into it it was delicious bought one somewhere else two days later it was moldy. They're deli stood out to me the most they were very willing to help when I had a question got a few things from the deli and then turned around and they had the prepackaged meals which I've never seen a shelf so full very good variety I buy those types of things once every week to every two weeks I had a very nice selection as well as a selection in the large salads that you can share at a meal for I'd say three people. I visited them within I would say twice within a week span and had the same experience each time. So well done Jewel you're one of the better ones in Joliet versus the ones around you that I've been to keep up the good work and thank you for all your help.

Supply is inconsistent and often an item showing as in stock through the app is not avail on the shelf.Though, I suppose this store does frequently excersize my substitution skills. So, maybe I should be thankful?No, honestly, I get the feeling that this store gets lower priority than the others in the area.UPDATE: inventory on app is more up to date. But, still often lacking in options available to other Jewel Stores in the area.

Produce is pretty fresh but a little limited. There's nothing you can get here that you can't get at the other grocery stores around here. The store is always clean and the emoyees are friendly. In the summer the cantaloupe here is the best.

I didn't like the cashier and his helper as I was buying pop and they didn't talk to me or even a hello. I had Sprite and Pepsi that was on sale and all they did was talk about Sierra miss pop was going out and how much they didn't like it! After they finished ringing me up he did even say what my total I just stood there looking at him and nothing so I just paid with my card and got receipt and left and was never told have a good night or thank you!

The only reason I don't give Jewel 5 stars is because we all know we can get most things cheaper somewhere else BUT this particular location is convenient for me and I know if I need something special or unique ingredients, I will find it here. We always come here to get our rib roasts for holidays and are always pleased. Customer service has always been good too!

I only go to Jewel when I need something special for a recipe or to shop for a friend. The last 10 years they have really gone down. The meats are not fresh, the veggies are poor and some of the dates are expired on the shelves. They just dont focus on Customer satisfaction any more!!! 3/15/22 Much better, I was impressed 👍

Their app is terrible. It took me nearly an hour to download just so I could get a sale price, and then it didn't even work. They were out of nearly everything I was looking for, and their whole setup seems predatory and shady. I used to love Jewel. Now I'm so upset I'm actually reconsidering ever going back for anything other than what I absolutely cannot find anywhere else.
