Stay away from meat and pre packed foods. I showed a worker all the cheese packets were spoiled and she left them there. They are going to get someone sick.

TiDiscovering the chicken tamales at this market was an unforgettable culinary delight. Each tamale is a bundle of joy, with chicken that's not just tender but brimming with flavors so vivid, my mouth waters at the mere thought. The chicken filling, generously seasoned and perfectly moist, is encased in a soft, steamed masa that complements it beautifully, creating a harmonious balance of textures and tastes.The secret to these tamales lies in the meticulous preparation and the blend of spices that infuse the chicken with an incredible depth of flavor. It's a recipe that clearly has been perfected over time, showcasing a profound understanding of how to bring out the best in every ingredient.What sets these chicken tamales apart is the palpable passion and tradition wrapped into each one. It's evident that each tamale is made with care, embodying a rich culinary heritage that adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the eating experience. The market atmosphere, bustling yet inviting, enhances the overall experience, making each visit as memorable as the flavors themselves.In conclusion, for those in search of an exceptional tamale experience, these chicken tamales are a must-try. They don't just feed the body but nourish the soul with every bite, leaving you longing for your next visit to this hidden gem of a market.

I purchased 2 LBS of their Pre-Seasoned Chicken Fajita. It was $6.99 a pound which was outrageous. I got it from there before and don’t remember paying that much. Chicken breast is $1.99 a pound. I just wanted something can cook up quick so bit the bullet. The meat was so salty it was not edible. Normally, I would not waste my time writing a review. Overpaid for food that was not even edible. Lesson learned.

I'm going to start with the positives. The staff is helpful and very diligent. Well stocked on products most of the time. I'm a fan of the Tacos the fresh bread. All around good experience.The deli staff are more standard fare employees. Not to take anything away from these professionals. We all understand what a long day feels like. On some visits Ive experienced attitude and even denial of service. In detail. I arrive to this store (from my long day) about an 1 hour and 45 minutes before they close. Certain meats are unavailable. For a variety of reasons. Use of the slicer or grinder machines is an issue 90 percent of the time. Because it's been washed. Because it's been cleaned already. The "operator" is off. It's broken but should be fixed first thing in the am. There's been other excuses but those are the top 4 I get. Especially when I see men on the clock standing around shooting the caca.Admittedly miffed, I've taken my money elsewhere. Though it may be a drop in the bucket, that adds up. It's such a shame that the experience is ruined because the deli is such an integral part of this store. Refusal of service or selling product is a bad experience for the paying customer spending they're hard earned cash.It's true, there's a fine line somewhere. But the business needs customers and vice versa. To all of you awesome folks in there from the hardworking busted up hands-men-to the beautiful women Thank you for what you do on a daily basis. Hopefully you can manage to inspire the rest of the staff.

A lot of the produce is really ripe, it's a must sell. I've gotten some items that if we don't consume right away, might as well discard. Example bought a watermelon two days later tried to pick it up, it was mushy, and bad smelling. Not saying it's a bad store, it's a great store just some produce is very ripe

Good fruits and veggies. But a couple times the meat seemed old, I let it go. Stopped buying meat from there. Today, my husband brought milk that expires 2 days from today and it has milk chunks in it. NOT Ok. I trustingly poured milk into my baby's bottle and he just dranked it right up.Its not expired it was just left out in the heat for way to long before it went into the refrigerators. I hope my child doesnt get sick from this kind of negligence. Milk is not something to mess around with.

They have a nice amount of groceries to choose from but some of their groceries is well overpriced. And I feel like they're taking advantage of the people in the neighborhood cuz they know some of the people don't have cars and this is the only grocery store they have to go to and which I feel as though that's not fair if you're in the community you should support your community like that support you and come to your store but you're gouging prices and I have did competitor price a lot of times at this store and they're overpriced for some of the things that they sell but hey we can't change the world unfortunately

El Ranchito is an amazing place to grocery shop. I do not speak Spanish, but the individuals who work their always make it a pleasant experience when I need assistance.They have fresh cooked food as well as fresh fruit prepared. Depending on the day and time will give you access to their different hot and prepared foods because people want their prepared foods so they run out.It is an amazing local grocery store that deserves our patronage.

El Ranchito has a large variety of meats, fruits, vegetables and many more items. I love going here for my meats, veggies and fruit because the price is not to high unlike many other places. El Ranchito also has cooked food ready to serve at the front and back of the store. They also sell liquor here too. The bathroom can really use some immediate attention. It is intolerable because of the smell. You would think it was hundreds of soiled diapers in there but it's the soiled tissue that some people are putting in the garbage. Because of the bathroom I give 3 stars.

Fresh produce and meat is great. Place is very clean and the employees help and are friendly. Limited selection for frozen and canned foods. Good place to go if you know what you want and don't feel like walking through a warehouse to get it

I just moved to the area. I don't mind this store but the cashiers are very young and rude! I go to this store at least 3 times a week. I am African American and this is a Hispanic store, but I feel they don't appreciate our business! Especially the cashiers! I think this store needs to hire more people of different race and retrain their cashiers;

Very disappointing on my last visit. I like getting my Mexican food here because it's the best, but it was in poor standing my last visit. Usually everything is in great shape. Like top fresh produce, meat, sweet bread, tortillas, etc

Quick trip type of grocery store, but they do have the best fajita meat in both Chicken and in beef. A terrific catering service offerings and the produce is not as bad as I thought it would be. They do always have good specials esp. On meat and produce. Excellent cakes from an outside bakery vendor. Worth the walk.

Mexican produce store. Prices are competitive, produce quality is competitive as well with all other stores of the same type. About the food to go they sell mmm I WON’T recommend tamales, dough is hard and heavy and not tasty AT ALL, the rajas con queso tamales should be call “raja con un poquitito de queso” sooo cheap tamales. Actually it is hard to find good tamales in the area., want real good tamales? You’ll have to go to Cicero or other large Mexican town near by Chicago.Panadería Sánchez at the corner of Ruby and Broadway sell acceptable tamales., soft, spongy and tasty.

Good local grocery store. Great prices on rotating specials. Wide selection of produce. They also have a kitchen that make food fresh. I get whole chicken here for $5.99 ready to go.

Great produce section, good meat selection, but the star of the show is the bolillo. Its baked all day long and customers wait in line when a new batch is coming out. You won't regret it.
