An easy shopping experience in an underrated store. The selection of items is more specific than big box stores and very comparable on pricing. Local store had knowledgeable staff to assist with my plumbing issue and walked me to right what I needed

Update 2/17/2022: Today I went in looking to buy a snow shovel, they had one and at a fair price. Old Post: I always thought they were better than the big box stores, due to more knowledgeable staff and better customer service. But today, I went in looking for something I bought there before. I couldn't find it, so I asked an employee. He told me the last time he saw it that it was in that area, which he pointed to. He then just walked away from me. The spot he pointed to was a spot I already looked at. But since he said he saw it there, I looked again, no luck, still couldn't find it. So, I asked another employee, they told me that they don't know where it could be. At this point, I left the store.

Very, very helpful! We borrowed a step ladder to retarp the load we had on the back of our pickup, and they let us use their back lot to finish what we needed to do. Kudos to the manager and her employees!!!

Went to the store with all intentions of picking up a gift for my husband. Having no idea what to get a man that has everything I decided to look around for ideas. Never got asked if I needed assistance or help finding anything. I did however get followed around by not only one employee but all 3 and the manager. I guess since I was looking around that meant I was a shoplifter. I even got stopped by management and accused of stealing something while I was inside the store still. I happily emptied my purse. Once the manager on duty that day realized I didnt take anything she just walked off without an apology or anything. Nothing like walking into a store intending to spend alot of money just to be accused of being a shoplifter instead. "The Helpful Hardware Store" not at the Jacksonville location.

Friendly, helpful service. I was greeted with a smile and asked by two different employees as I was shopping if they could help with anything . Didn't have what I was looking for during this visit, but I really appreciate the hometown feel and will certainly be back again.

Not my favorite Ace place. Inventory is pretty much standard but service is not up to Ace standards. The staff was standing around talking to each other instead of providing assistance to customers. The Springfield branch is a better option if you can't find what you need at HD.

Low stock on seasonal items and although there were many employees in the store none of them asked to help me and then when I found them, they only pointed me to the isle, not offering to take me there to ensure I had what I sought

I'm new to Illinois. I inherited a farm here and have had to make numerous repairs from plumbing to equipment and now house painting. The folks here at this store have been above and beyond helpful and virtuous to me. I'll be a customer for life. One evening at five minutes to eight, just before closing, they were cutting a section of PVC for my emergency sink repair. That's exceptional in my book. Thanks ACE. Keep up the good work.

Very unimpressed with this store, they are never very friendly or helpful. Most smaller stores are happy to have customers walking through the door, I think they could care less here. I won't be back.

I went in to find a small bulb and if there is one thing that people know about Ace Hardware is that it has been around a long time and that's not by luck. The homeowner and small business person can find out door furniture, lawn and garden care items and great plant variety in spring and summer as well as paint, cleaning supplies, bird houses and food, holiday decor, a key maker, chain, wire, screws, nuts, bolts, furnace supplies, lightbulbs, tools, some pet supplies and much more in a small friendly atmosphere.

I asked where 2-sided tape was and she replied up front 1st isle. She was busy on computer. When I got there there wasn't anyone to help sort through a few rows of tape. I looked for someone to help but there wasn't anyone to assist me.
