Really love coming here. They have great service. Do a great job with our shepherds and they are not crqzy expensive like some places!They are also pretty quick which I love, usually can get both dogs done in an hour. They put the bandanas on as a nice touch. Our girls are always nice and clean.They are hands down the best groomers in TOWN!

THE BEST OF THE BEST!! I have had large dogs my whole life and Dog Day Afternoon has been a GOD SEND! Sharon is the BEST DOG GROOMER EVER!!!! I have 3 Leonberger's that have a double coat of long thick hair and no one has ever been able to give them a grooming like Sharon does, she is AMAZING !!! When we pick them up they look like they are ready for Westminster!! One of my Leo's has a skin sensitivity and she goes out of her way to make sure it does not get aggravated. She literally takes care of every dog as if it is her own. The shop is immaculate and the staff is so friendly, caring and treats everyone like family. I have referred many of my friends to her and they all love Sharon. If you love your dog like you love your children, this is the only groomer you will ever want to take your dog to.

We have used Dog Day Groomers for many years. Our dogs love Sharon and the rest of the staff. Sometimes they don’t want to leave the shop after their grooms. The staff does excellent professional work and we have never been disappointed with a groom. They treat our dogs like kings and queens! We have recommended DDA to our family friends, and they also love their grooming services. You cannot find a better dog grooming service anywhere!!

Dog Day Afternoon and staff is the absolute BEST! Ive been grooming my Collies ( 4 total) for 12+ years! 3 out of the 4 are pretty big!Before Dog Day I tried other groomers, and no one compares to Dog Day!! They treat your fur babies like their own. Because of bad treatment at the other groomers, my dogs didn't like going, until now! They love going and in-fact my big guy Finley, absolutely adores Sharon and wants to stay with her. They go out of their way to make your dog feel safe, comfortable and welcome. They use covers for their ears when they are scared of the blow dryers and lots of hugs! I would not trust my dogs anywhere else! If I could give 10 stars I would!!!

Heather has been grooming my dogs and a cat for 15 years! Her and the other groomers are great and do really quality grooming. I highly recommend giving them a call or stop in for a quick nail trimming. Tell them Sean sent ya!

I have been a customer of Dog Day for over 17 years with several dogs, and HIGHLY recommend them, all dogs require grooming on a regular basis if you are not a trained person yourself to cut nails, clean teeth and ears. It is just part of proper pet care, and these people have always loved and groomed my dogs very well, my Otto would come home knowing he looked and smelled so handsome and just got so excited whenever I said we were going to to see Heather!

Didn’t even want to give a star but I had to in order to give a review. This groomer is awful. They messed up the times for one of our appointments, but when we were late for 2 of our appointments they made our poor dogs wait for months to be groomed and then “fired” us as clients leaving our dogs without a groomer. I wish I never gave these people our business and nobody else should either! They were very rude and disregarded our animals because all they care about is money! I want a groomer that cares about my animals not one that doesn’t care about their job!!

I brought my sister's puppy in to be groomed. She is a red Australian Shepherd and she had some mats in her tail and behind the ears. She is rarely out around people so she is very skittish and afraid. The staff there was super good with her. They were kind, gentle and caring. They allowed me to be there with her to keep her anxiety down.Sophie looked amazing when they were done with her. Her coat was so soft and shiny! It has been a week and her coat is still gorgeous.Thank you!

They take great care of my dogs. Our male loves the attention that he gets here and is beyond excited when it's time to get groomed..My golden retriever gets a little anxious when being groomed but the ladies here make her feel calm and she's very happy and relaxed when I come to get her. I will continue to use them.

I am new to having a dog that requires grooming so I had no idea where to go. I did go to a few other places in the area but they do not really compare to this place.The staff was so nice, knowledgeable, and quick.They were able to get her in last minute on a Sunday, so grateful for that!The shampoo is a very nice light scent and not industrial smelling like some other places she’s been to.The groomer took the time to come from the other side and “meet” my dog. Gave her a little time to get to know her and ask what we were looking for. I didn’t have a specific vision of how I wanted her groomed so I gave her rough guidelines like “trim the hair around her face and make it even throughout” and she knocked it out the park.I’m obsessed with the symmetry around the face!Definitely recommend this place if you’re new to the area, new to owning a dog, or just looking for a change in groomers.We will definitely be coming back :)

I just tried to get in to get my two mini schnauzers groomed. I was rudely told they were not taking any new clients. After our conversation I would not recommend this place because of the curtness of the person answering the phones. The person who answers the phones gives a indication of the business. I would have said, I am sorry. We are not taking any new clients now, BUT, I will put you on our list snd work you in when we can. Giving 1 star because of the terrible first impression! She also told me that she would not recommend any groomer in Grayslake! Nice huh??

Made a very last minute appointment and they fit us in. First time here and the staff came out to the check in desk sat on the floor to meet our dogs and they loved it so much they didn't notice us leaving. They did a great job on both our dogs. It's been a week since their grooming and they still smell great.

This place should be out of business the owner is rude and entitled and has zero patience for any dog which is humorous for the career field she picked place has no fundamental respect for humans or animals if you don’t have an Angel of a dog don’t bother the owner will tell you to dose your dog higher just so they can smoke dope on the side of building place is ran down and over priced for some butchered haircut if your dog has any length to the hair forget about itttttt . If you don’t like animals Sharon or whatever your name even was don’t be in this industry you have ruined it for enough people time to retire lights looks like there gonna go off anyways place is a hole in the wall just do yourself a favor if your ever in fox lake drive past this dump and joke of an establishment

I would highly recommend dog day afternoon to any dog or cat owner. I have brought 3 of my babies there for years and they always come home beautifully bathed and trimmed, really happy, and with a tie/bandana (which I adore!). My little Loki is a pomeranian who has long black fur, causing him to get ear beards and a butt 'fro. Sharon and the others are always really careful around those sensitive areas to be sure he is clean and comfortable. At the start of each visit we always go over what I want Loki to look like, and if they recommend anything special or out of the ordinary for any reason, we discuss it before I leave the dogs at the shop. This has always been standard protocol for them. They have really reasonable pricing, and take such great care of the babies. I couldn't imagine leaving my babies in the care of anyone else, even if it meant saving a couple bucks. I lived 5 minutes away when I started going to them. Since then, I've moved a half hour away and still only use them.

We have been apart of the Dog Day family for about 12+ yrs now and they are by far the best place. Sharon and staff have some of the biggest hearts and truly take the best of care of your fur babies. Having 1 dog that was super passive and my rescue who is very dominant they have made both feels super special. My Chance only let's Sharon bath him and just melts every time he sees her. 125 lbs fur ball who loves and protects her just as much as he does us. If you want a place to groom your fur baby and care for them as you do this is the place you'll want to visit. Stop in an visit them :)

Great Staff, fit me in for a nail trim appointment the next day. My dog despises nail trimming and stands still while I hold her, but she will go beserk if I'm not with her. Even with covid, they allowed me inside with her to keep her calm. Reasonable pricing and good service. How can you beat that?

My dog is not a fan of grooming. We bring her here for a good wash and deshedding a couple times a year. They are so sweet with her (I was afraid they would have to muzzle her) that she just goes along with the program. When I pick her up, not only does she look and SMELL better, she is not stressed. I love this place because of the people- many places can wash dogs but these people are very caring and gentle too.

I've been taking my Daizy for 11 years and she gets so excited about seeing Sharon. Shes easy to groom but is demanding about Sharon never leaving her sight. She just loves Sharon so much. My sheltie Penny Lane always looks beautiful and well trimmed. Very professional only needed to have me reschedule once or twice over 11 years due to illness and Covid. Prices are reasonable. I definitely recommend dog day afternoon. 👍🐶🐆💞

They know our dogs by there first name as we walk in the door without even having an appointment . They are so friendly there and kind. Great with both our dogs but especially 1 that is a little older and not as strong.They I think are the best in town and then some. I would and have recommended people there. I took my very nervous rescue pup, Ivy, here after 3 terrible experiences at 2 other places and Dog Day Afternoon was amazing! She was calm, they were calm, and they got all of her grooming done without any drama. And they even painted her nails free of charge. ❤ We will definitely be going back!

I LOVE this place! Sharon and the rest of the ladies are AMAZING! I have been taking my animals there since 2004 and my mixed breed Mickey was a nervous dog that had issues with noises and had anxiety with separation. Sharon worked around his issues and gained his trust, always taking care of him as if he were her own. When I had to put him down she cried with me and understood my loss. My great dane goes there and always excited to see the ladies. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

DDA has been the most reliable groomer we have had. We took our Jack Russell (Zero) for her monthly bath while living in the area. Now that we are out of the area we miss them and try to get our dog Smalls in for a bath anytime we are back in town. Sharon is absolutely amazing and always makes you feel like your pet is part of their family.

Lisa is the great. I have been taking my Jack Russell to her. I now have a Goldendoodle and he is a puppy and she has been very informative on how to take care of his fur for grooming. All the ladies are so sweet when you come into the door and always friendly and paying attention to the dogs.
