the employees are nice...there are never any shopping carts to use in the store. the few they gave are usually used to stock shelves.the management is aware if the issue but they don't seem willing to fix it. it's been like this for several months

Where do I begin? I have been going to Petco for over a year. I've spent a lot of money there. Fall of 2023, I was running 10 minutes late for a grooming appointment. I called several times but no one picked up. Once inside the store, grooming area had several people there. By the time she got to me 15 minutes had passed. The groomer goes: Sorry. You are 30 minutes late and you will need to reschedule. The first appointment is next week. I was like, I am only 30 minutes late NOW because of how long it took for you to get to me and my appointment was not at 3 it was 3:15. Oh sorry, but the other groomer is leaving early and there is no way for us to accommodate you. I put in a complaint and got an email from the manager Samantha H or something saying next time I'm in ask for her and I can receive a discount. So I was upset so started taking my dog elsewhere. Earlier this year I brought in my dog and asked for Samantha and was told she was busy and would call me. An hour later she called, I explained what she said in the email and her response was: I'm not able to do anything about a complaint from last year. Very abrupt. Not at all helpful. They also blocked me on the appt b/c they said I no showed for too many grooming appointments. Two were from 2022 and one of the ones from 2023 was the appointment THEY rescheduled. You know what? I'm done. There are too many other places to give my business to vs spending my money at this poorly run location. ✌🏾

Don't buy fish here. I've given this store 3 chances. There won't be a 4th. Each time I've been there I've seen dead fish in tanks, poor maintenance and I asked the associate, they do not quarantine any new incoming fish. I bought over $60 in fish, it's been 3 days since my purchase and each day another dead fish, all guppy. My water parameters are good. I've got four tanks and maintain them all very well.

I went to this store for an online order pickup. I approached the front register where I stood and was never greeted or acknowledged. There was a Caucasian blond ponytailed female who was at the register assisting another customer. Apparently, the customer had to go back to her car and the cashier was waiting for her to return. As the cashier is waiting for the other customer to return I continue to stand there and still no acknowledgment. No… Someone will be with you shortly, no nothing. This cashier continues to look at me as she waits for the customer to return. At this point another Caucasian blond hair gentleman approaches the front no acknowledgment from him either. He proceeds to another register and asks for the next customer in line. Mind you, at this point the lady is still waiting for the other customer to return and no one has acknowledged me. I finally had to say excuse me, I was here before this other customer walked up. I’m just here to pick up an online order. The lady proceeds to look at me and roll her eyes as she asks me my name. Goes over to where they keep the orders and rudely hands me my order. Still no proper acknowledgement no thank you for shopping at Petco… NOTHING!! Very disappointing experience. I have shopped here for years. However, this will be the last time. The customer service in this store is unacceptable and the online pickup process needs to be improved. DO BETTER!!

28 MAY 23 / My 2nd review - After dropping off my dog for a grooming appointment for Memorial Day, I get a call 20mins later saying that my dog's nose is bleeding. The associate said she washed my dog and was blow-drying her and had no idea how it happened. I was told to come pick up the door they would have to take it to the vet on-site to see if they could still service my dog. Of course, I went back to get her and the doors were locked where even the employees coming to work at 10a couldn't get in. After getting home, she finally was able to relax and was her normal self and all I could see was a small cut on her nose that she couldn't have done herself. Now I'm having to wait another month to get her haircut and nails done. She looks terrible!!! Avoid this location constantly has issues.1st review over a year ago - After waiting two and half months for an appointment for grooming, we were denied service due to a policy saying no services the day that your animal is seen at the vet and received their shots. Now the next available date that works with my schedule will be another month or more out 🤬...

Always take my dog there for grooming. The groomers are fanatics. If they notice something going on with my dogs skin or paws from allergies, they bring it to my attention.

We had an appointment at 8:15am. Our personal Groomer Dre was waiting for us. He did an excellent job as usual with our puppy and called us when he was done. Very pleased with the visit and will return in 3 weeks☺️

Very poor customer service. About 2 weeks ago the “gentleman” who’s responsible for the fish sold me two gold fish. I know it’s not common for some people to remember their customers but you would think when it comes to selling an animal you would remember who you sold it to. I guess not. I came in to get a gold fish and he REFUSED to sell it to me because he saw that I had a bigger tank in my hand. You already sold me two gold fish 2 weeks ago and I told you I had a tank then. Now when I come to get a bigger tank and a newer fish it’s a problem? Another young lady who was also working there offered to help me and I pointed to the fish I wanted. She says “okay and what are you gonna put it in?” I said “The tank I have at home.” She then pretends like she’s getting ready to give me the fish but she walks to the side to text the gentleman that I don’t have a tank ready. Just because you see me getting a new tank DOES NOT mean I don’t have one already. You see I asked for the fish but I didn’t have any fish food with the new tank I was getting. Did you think I didn’t have fish food either?? Did you think I was going to starve it?? I wish the people who work there would stop being ignorant and listen to their customers. Because when I said I already had a tank and I wanted an upgrade I was ignored. Ignoring black voices during black history month. How original. WORST service I have ever received.

I have a dog that has diabetes and I had my prescription for medical food from my vet, but for your competitor. I am disappointed that with this prescription in hand I couldn't purchase food for my dog. I would make more purchases from your location because it's closer to me.

This store is really big. They have a little bit of everything. They even have Vital Care Premier that saves you when buying your food, litter, supplies, and so much more. Also, a multi pet discount. Michelle, Janis,Kim, and the team are so sweet and helpful. Thank you all for what you do. I will definitely come back and shop here. :)

Do not bring your pet inside, for it's own safety. An employee there slammed our cart out of the way and into the shelves while we were looking at something, and thankfully it was not the cart carrying our brand new kitten, as she would have been injured from the force he used on the other cart. For your pets' safety, don't bring it inside, or near this employee. Absolutely vile attitude and he could have caused genuine harm because he wanted to get around a mess he made

The young lady that assisted me was fantastic. She went all out to make sure that I got what I came in for. She was very friendly and very helpful. She was great. The next time I come in to your store I hope that she is available to assist me. Don’t lose her.

I love this store, they've always had a great variety of dog products from food to toys at fair prices. When I was checking out today I saw a chocolate Standard Poodle being handled extremely rough by the groomer. I left in tears. It was happening in plain view of so many employees since it's right behind the registers and right in front of the store. I can't shop here anymore knowing and seeing with my own two eyes how animal cruelty is tolerated. Nothing wrong with calling the owner and saying their dog doesn't like to be groomed and the work can't be completed. I won't be back. Dollars not Dogs are all that matter here.

This was my 1st time using the grooming services. They really like their furry customers. I brought my stinky English bulldog and received a happy clean fur baby. He didn't want to leave his groomers. They did a great job, but plan ahead they only take reservations and they fill up fast.

This review is not for Petco. It is for an Organization called Cat Habitat located inside the store. Cat Habitat is a perfect place to adopt a cat or kitten! I did, and we all still love our cat, Moon after a few years of having her. 😸 I recently fostered for cat habitat, and although I still plead with people to adopt from this shelter, I would also like to add that after the kittens were ready for adoption, the owner of this shelter was very rude and somewhat ungrateful to me. So please do adopt from here! I just do not recommend fostering unless you like to be spoken down to.

First time using thier services and they did a great job!! My dog recieved a bath and trimmed. I was so nervous dropping her off, but they made me feel like she's going to be ok. I would definitely recommend Petco in Homewood for your pet needs!

I took my dog there over the weekend to the groomers.. She is a female dog they didn’t even put a bow or rubber band in her head. Her hair was all over her face. I asked the man did they have any bows or at least a rubber band to put in her hair. He told me that they didn’t have any in stock. I will not be taking her back.

Before this one, they injured my dog Chloe clip my last visit They did a pretty good job but the two visits before that on one cut her eye lid and on both of those clippings were just bad they did a really bad job, because the visit before those last three visits I complain about a cut and didn’t that person not to groom her anymore not to I don’t waChloe again I just asked for someone else to do it and I left it at that so the next two times I brought it in they did the worst job then That particular time so they’re not professional they take stuff personal and they enter my dog and then they going to confess to it or list of mono give me any type of satisfaction. At least I still receive a free clip in a correct clip.
