We have been going there often lately as we are building a fence. The guy blonde guy driving around on the forklift outside lumber today was so awesome! He helped me out so much and I just think he is a wonderful employee and does great customer service. I wish I knew his name but his tag was backwards so I couldn't see his name. Nice guy! Thank you!

Their new propane system sucks. Twice I have had an issue with the new propane system, you have to enter your card, it charges you then the machine starts. 1st issue I had was being charged and the machine stopped way before it should have for what I paid. The 2nd most recent the machine took my money and did not start. Went inside just to be told to spend more money and try again.... I still have not seen the charge drop. And their security guards always have an issue and linger around and stare at you and sometimes get in the way from the lane I'm trying to park at because of it.

Sign says we refil or exchange propane tanks. I unload my tank from the car wait 20 min in line and the girl says we don't exchange tanks here. I asked if she was sure because there were tanks outside in a rack. She said we don't do exchanges. I went to home depot. Went to self checkout and exchanged my tank for a nice clean one under 20 bucks and took less then 5 min.

I came into the location at 17545 S Halsted, Homewood, IL at 15 minutes before closing. I was immediately helped by Ivan and Tiana to find the product I was looking for. They were so polite and friendly. Their kindness is very much appreciated!

It took me 3 associates to find a simple J6 garage door rail, it wasn’t in the garage door replacement isle as stated. Come to find out from the 3rd associate that worked in the paint department…..a $2.99 bracket was a special order part that would not come in until September 15th. So Amazon had it and it will arrive tomorrow.

I love shopping at this Menards. They have great prices, I get my rebate money and I spend it all the time and it's just the best place to go to when I need something to update my home. I have bought multiple items from this location and they have never failed me. Customer service is great as well.

I usually enjoy Menards. But the officer yesterday followed me around the store for nearly half an hour and then searched me and my bag in front of my wife before allowing me to leave - and obviously found nothing. I am highly irritated, tactfully speaking, to have been so profiled like that.Two days later: I tried to follow up with "Tracy," the general manager that Menards referred me to, since their brand is "service and quality." But, it turns out that there is no Tracy who even works there.

I was looking for batteries in an unusual size. The first person I asked said she couldn't help because it wasn't her department and pointed down an aisle to someone else to find it. The second person looked it up and said they had 17 of them. I asked him if he could help me find them and he just walked away. The 3rd person was actually by the batteries and was more than happy to find them for me. It took him a little while but he was happy to do it. I thanked him and told him how nice it was to find someone there who actually took pride in his job and was very helpful. He was an older gentleman. The first two were younger and acted like helping customers wasn't in their job description.

This is the worst Menards I've ever been in....Thought I had trust in my neighborhood Menards.. had reassurance from a floor manager Jermiah about a certain product came back and could not get that product due to lack of floor manager communication...on top of that try to get another product...to finish a project with my love just to be disappointed by other floor manager David for him not to really know nothing about the store price match policy I will never shop at this Menards again they need to know their stuff, they need to be able to work together as a team, they need to be able to satisfy the customers🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

1. Mice ran across the floor the last several times I had to visit. No other store in the area has such a problem so it is not the season, location or products. Clearly the GM does not care. I wonder if his neighborhood lo ation is that way.Meh, I go because I have to for certain things but the service leaves a lot to be desired. I actually drive to Merrillville, IN or Matteson, which is inconvenient but better service and selection.Management and leadership (except Keosha, V?, and one other person) and the longer term employees at the front are pretty odd, rude and unhelpful. It always seems like they rather talk with each other than help customers. I've observed them ignore people time and time again and even each other.The GM is horrible. He is usually on the floor talking to other middle aged guys and never offers to help. Some of the people on the floor are just rude and consistently wrong about whether or not they have a product in stocks. Seriously. We come to shop and should NOT have to convince you to check overstock, then, wait for 10-15 minutes for you to find a ladder before slowly looking for product.The Schererville location is the same. Dolton and Matteson are better but you're better off stopping by the Homewood Home Depot for whatever you need. For plumbing supplies, just head to Leeps.

This is my local store and I love going to but in the last 3 three visits I haven't been able to find the spray paint I have been using for a project. Not a problem but it makes me wonder if I should switch up colors. I like restoring old furniture. Otherwise it's always a pleasure to walk into.

Wanted to buy a product that was reduced. When at the register it rang up $15. More than the tag. Told the cashier who’s register was a couple feet away from the product. She refused to come look at the tag. Then the person that came to look was refusing to honor the price. Mind you there were like 30 stacked in front of the sign. She tried to find a manager and apparently they were all busy. Asked us to wait like 10 minutes for the manager, walked away without saying she’d be back. Then after talking to someone in her ear piece said they are sorry for that but it’s too much of a price difference to honor. Needless to say we did not buy any of the items we went for. And will not be returning. That is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

Mike the hardware manager at the Homewood store was great. He is what customer service was 20 years ago. this young man was so helpful and his service was top notch. I wish more employees showed his care for customer. Amazing example!

Looking for floor tile so i was pricing. Some seem reasonable. It wasnt crowded. Got in and out the store..the workers were nice and helpful but some of there prices were a little high on home repairs.

Save Big Money at Menards!! I'm in this place almost daily as I work to renovate a small office space. They've even added groceries as well. Lots of items to choose from to fill up your cart.

Customer service was excellent it Menards today. My daughter and I stopped by to pick up a few things the store was clean everything was there that I was looking for with the exception of one extract that they don't carry. My overall experience was Grand. If I'm ever in a particular neighborhood again I will make it my business to stop by Menards.

I've been noticing a lot lately (not just this Menards location) that, the Receiving Associates don't acknowledge you, when making a delivery. I'm able to just stroll in (no one says anything), drop my freight and walk out. As I was leaving, I heard an Associate say to another Associate, "who just delivered this?" I just kept walking out.

Menards beats Home Depot. It's cleaner, neater, better lit, & has a wider selection of products. Home Depot has self-checkout; Menards doesn't. I hope they get it soon.

One of the better big box hardware stores in my area. Great selection and always seems to be well stocked. The employees are very knowledgeable about the products. Very clean and organized store.

On several occasions, I went to inquire about home fencing for a business project. I swear the staff in that department was just outright unfriendly. They are lucky they have a job and should be happy they do. They made me feel like I was bothering them with my questions to help me find what I was looking for. If it wasn't for the cashiers apologizing and making me feel welcome, trust me I would not be back. Of course I could go to Home Depot, but don't like their overall business support system. Menards, please train your staff with better customer service.

Bought an item online & picked it up at the store. The guys in the loading area were totally awesome! Loaded the box in my van & I was out of there in less than 30 min. Very clean inside too. Only thing was trying to get to the yard in the back. Needs better signage to direct first timers.
