If you're looking to buy some of the best fresh/dried pasta on the North Shore to cook at home, this is your spot. The only problem is once you have it, it's impossible to go back to store-bought dried pasta. They have a ton of different varieties that they sell by the pound. They'll also put it together into a really cute gift bag if you want a fun present for a friend. In addition to the dried pasta that they make in-house, they have probably around a hundred prepared frozen dishes in their freezer ready to take home and warm up, again all made in-house, as well as homemade frozen pizzas that are equally fantastic. This is a true gem, family run, and you can tell everything they do is done with love. There's nothing else like it around.

I have yet to go inside, but I walk by everyday on the route I walk my dog. The smell is absolute heaven. I want to wrap myself in it. It is drool worthy every day I smell it.

Oh my goodness. Wanted to treat my husband to lasagna for his birthday. I searched for carry out and after reading stellar reviews decided on a whim to try this. If you want fresh pasta that melts in your mouth, this establishment does everything right. The meat lasagna was heaven.We’ve tasted nothing better - ever! Easy to heat in oven at home! Chose a superb chicken with capers and a lemon/wine sauce. Outstanding.We chose a few other items to serve for a family party this weekend. From customer service to extensive choices, we can’t wait to share this gem with others who appreciate delicious Italian cuisine. You won’t be disappointed!

When I enter into Pastificio I immediately feel like family, the way the shop is set up and the way they greet you when you walk in, great atmosphere. Truly bringing Italy to Highwood. The best Italian food in the Lake County Area, Freshly made pastas, great sauce, and dishes ready to go in the oven.

First, this is not a restaurant. It is a Northern Italian take out shop, family owned by the same family for 40 years.Everything is made by hand. There is a huge variety of fresh dried pastas, better than any boxed pasta you will ever taste. They are known for their absolutely delicious lasagna (several varieties), chicken and veal dishes, well the list goes on.The number of loyal customers (some since the day they opened) is huge!There is a deli filled with prepared foods for your dinners Tuesday through Friday. On Saturday there is a take out buffet from 10:30am to 1:00pm with hot foods and great salads.I can't say enough good things about them...you see, I was a customer for several years, and now I am lucky to be a member of the staff!Please stop in to see this hidden treasure. We are located on Highwood Ave. between the Highwood library and post office.

Aside from homemade pasta's and fresh/frozen dinners and appetizers, they make the best fresh/frozen soups in the area. But everybody knows that already, so no need to even write a review. My faves are the chicken noodle and the bean soup with pasta. Small ones great for bringing to work. Also recommend the chicken stuffed with wild rice.

There is nothing better anywhere than food from Pastificio. Wow! Soooo good! Truly one of a kind. Handmade pastas, sauces, dinners... all melt in your mouth. Pastificio sells the BEST, and FRESHEST pasta in town! I can't emphasize enough the difference between their handmade pasta and the absolute garbage you could potentially buy ANYWHERE else.Their pasta has been an epiphany. It's been an eye-opening, mouth-watering experience. I just cannot go back to "store-bought" boxed pasta.They have a lot of delicious sweets as well, and I heard they do large catering work. I would trust them with any event.

This is an amazing Italian food place. And the food is certainly unique. There are lots of gluten free options, and there is a wide variety of foods that are perfect for a vegetarian diet.

I stopped in earlier in the morning to find some pasta since most places don't have pasta before 11 they didn't have anything in their Buffet setup they had stuff in the Frozen area but I cooked it and it wasn't all that great it was pretty average that cheese tortellini I got don't know if it's worth all the effort it takes to make it sauce is kind of basic even though I like Italian sauces from Italy when I'm in Italy besides kind of was so simple act any kind of flavor
