Restaurants don't get better than this. They can get more fancy and expensive, but not better. Amazing place for beer call and food with the boys, or an affordable family meal with video games to occupy the kiddos. Indoor and outdoor seating - and if you need extra room outside you just pull two tables together. Beef sandwiches, deep fried veggies, pizza, burgers, Chicago dogs, shrimp, fish & chips, pasta, salads - everything is fantastic. Definitely something for everyone. Owner & family are always there and they really, truly care. You see it in the food and the consistency. I've been going for over 30 years and it's always been wonderful. First with my parents, and now my kiddos. Make this Northshore gem a part of your family lore too. Bonus -- they deliver, have their own parking lot across the street, and they still do counter service (order at counter / they bring the food to your table) so no tipping is expected or asked for.Vegetarian options: Veggies, salads, pasta, pizza, veggie burgers.Parking: Private parking lot across the street.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu, coin operated video games, kid & family friendly atmosphere.

Update: I've been there several times since, and their staff has improved significantly. Kudos to management.Food was good, sweet potatoes were excellent but their staff apparently can't get an order right to save their life. They messed up three different aspects of a simple order for two people, and we were the only customers! And that's not even counting not asking us what we wanted on our hot dog. Staff is asleep at the wheel.

I give this place a 4 of 5 because the menu is huge, food is great tasting, and it is family friendly with lots of space. A good hole in the wall hidden gem in an are that can be really pricey as far as food choices. Thank you for having a price point for the everyday family. I had the bbq pizza and some onion rings. The rings were awesome. The 4 is mainly for "meh" service others have mentioned in other reviews. I'd eat there again though it wasn't like anyone was mean just meh.

Like the Italian beef on garlic bread. Very tasty.Hard to find a good Philly cheese steak around here. One good option is to get the Italian beef here chopped and grilled with grilled onions, mushrooms, peppers and cheese. Came out great!

Ehhh. First time here. You're directed on how to order (from a menu on the wall) at the counter, receive your drinks etc. a little confusing and not very friendly at the counter area.Six of us met here for a bite to eat before heading to the Lightscape at Chicago Botanical Gardens.Pizzas, pasta, salad were just ok. The ladies who delivered the food and cleaned the table were super sweet.I would describe this place as more of a take out venue

We had not been here, and we didn't know how the process works and no one explained it to us. We arrived a little after 5 pm. and wanted to sit outside and didn't realize that we take our own silverware and napkins with us nor that there was an area where we could get them outside. I kept coming in to get napkins. A nice lady did come by and would take our dirty dishes.

Good pizza.. never other the chili is nasty the service slow I'm waiting 40 min. For my pizza the service is bad . And give me the wrong pizza....I'm feel the Spanish people isn't welcome in this place.. the manager is real nice with he's white people ... never eat on this place again... if you are Spanish not spend your money there. No support this restaurant. Is only for white dudes. 🤬🤬

Honestly, it was good but average. A lot of it is self-serve (drinks) and orders at the front counter. Outside seating is really cramped as people walk by, and you are smoshed against a car. The food was good and they have a variety of hot sauces available so there's that. The jumbo cookie isn't too impressive, but my wife and daughter enjoyed their food. Inside was nice and clean with the nicest aprt being their single stall mens bathroom.

I came to Buffo's after a commercial I saw on YouTube. My family and myself drove from Chicago to try the double decker pizza. When we walked in, we did not know we had to order and a number was going to be provided and also to get your own soda and pitchers. When my family sat in the table we put the number provided visible. After ordering onion rings and fries, server brought it to the table and one of my family members asked if there was ketchup. Server kindly smiled and stated that it will be right up. Other server in a rude manner told her to tell us to get up and get it ourselves. This was the first time and when I first order my pizza, that was not explained to us. We asked the server another question and we got ignored. We got our pizza which was also burned. After finishing our pizza we were planning on placing another order, when we heard the rude server tell a couple that they had to leave because the room was reserved for a party. I asked my family to get up and leave. Very rude experience and will not be coming back.

Got an Italian Beef, the beef was tender, the bread was fresh. The flavor was bland. Price and portion were average. Also got the spicy chili... it was not spicy and also very basic.Wonderful staff, very friendly and a clean and inviting restaurant.

What is there to say about Buffo's other than nostalgia pizza. This is summer time drinking out of the hose in your front yard pizza. This is Halloween night pizza. Is it the most gourmet pizza around of course not. Is it a great flat crust for birthday parties with a dozen kids running around absolutely the best.Kid-friendliness: Perfect pizza for kids and they love the claw games.

I grew up in the area and we went to buffos a lot. Loved it as a kid and adult. I hadn't been there in about 15 yrs, took my toddler daughter a couple months ago. It was so not worth it. The table was filthy, the waitresses were (I'm guessing) being forced to work bc they obviously hated their jobs - tossed our beyond overpriced average tasting pizza in front of us and didn't return to the table once. And, ok, I get it. It's the N. Shore. But common, a thin crust pizza w a couple mushrooms topping it shouldn't cost almost 30dollars anywhere. Never returning. Highwood has better options.

After seeing other reviews how great this place is and heard how the Double Decker pizza was invented here we had to give it a try. Pizza was great, good flavor we really enjoyed it. The guy working the register (with glasses) taking our order was maybe not having a good day or he seemed off. Not a hello or welcome. Any question we had was short and not very helpful.

It was ok. We had a double decker pizza, which was indeed a double decker. Basically two pizzas on top of each other. Had a ton of cheese on it. Probably a lot more than most people would like.One person in our party ordered a hot dog, which was reported to be just ok.The service was friendly enough, but the hot dog came out probably 20 minutes before the pizza, so we didn't all get to eat together. We were told when we ordered that the pizza takes a longer time, so the wait itself was no problem, but I'm not sure why the whole order didn't come together. Poor kitchen planning.Love the sidewalk seating, if you can get it. All the tables were either being used, or had reserved signs on them. We got the last open table. Plenty of seating inside though.If I was in the area and needed to eat, I might try it again, but there's numerous other food choices close by I might be more tempted to give a shot.
