Man what happen to all the old-timers that used to work at this store , they were very helpful . The new kids don't have the knowledge or experience. I purchased 7 items ,no price on 3 of them. Checker had to call for price check. Also price scanner didn't work. I guess since they became big R ,they decided to reduce cost by letting people go and replacing with cheaper help. What a shame , I used to really like Rural king!

2 girls at the front. 1 checking out people, the other had her nose in her phone with 6 people in line. The one working asked the other to help her check people out. As the 2nd girl is checking people out she is still scrolling on her phone. Waiting to get my item from the shop and I see the 1st girl who had been checking people out heading to the back for a break. As I leave the store the 2nd girl is up front still scrolling on her phone. 😒

I bought a bird bath today. When I asked the woman at the check out for info on if the item was on sale, a young male associate was behind the counter and looked me up and down. He then turned to another associate and began laughing. It was absolutely disrespectful. I won't be coming back here or recommend anyone I know to avoid it as well.Also, I will be bringing this up the corporate ladder. Disgusting behavior.

Ship and Cam in the service department have consistently gone above and beyond to take care of my service emergencies. I needed to clear a fallen tree from my yard before a party this weekend. I asked if they could take a look to see if my Stihl chainsaw issue was a quick fix. Skip was busy when I got there, but asked me a few questions and proceed to do a quick check. As it turned out, it was an operator error. He quickly solve my problem despite having a hot job to complete. Cam was also extremely helpful with a part that i was looking for. Again, problem solved. I have been coming to this particular Big R since I moved back to the area after retiring from the Navy. I have never had any issues with getting the best service from any department. This is definitely my go to service department for all things property maintenance equipment and service! Thank you Skip and Cam!! Well done!

Prices weren't right on multiple items I purchased, had to go back and show them I got overcharged. Then the one cashier was the only visible employee that was actually working and she even expressed her frustration about it! Definitely went downhill since it was Rural King.

Great experience with a very young group of staff! We were working on a project at our home and realized I had greatly underestimated the amount of quikrete needed. After a couple calls my wife told me that they would have a pallet of 20 ready to be fork-lifted onto the back of my truck. Saved time and my back! Awesome customer service in a time that's it's frequently nonexistent! Great job, will make sure to buy from them!

great place to get all the odds and ends you might need around the farm and home, staff are always helpful, and usually have a pretty good idea of what they're talking about, and if they don't, they'll find someone who does. my only complaint is the prices are a bit high compared to other places that sell the same items (like walmart for example) but i also understand smaller businesses don't get the same bulk discounts massive chains get, so i can live with spending an extra dollar or two when necessary in exchange for the service I've always received.

Decent enough selection. Staff is usually very friendly and helpful. Usually leave you alone if you want to shop without help. They offer a Veterans discount so that is very helpful! The selection of tools has increased over the last year.

Great store. Has mostly everything you would find at a Home Depot or Tractor Supply store. Has a great selection of Milwaukee and Dewalt tools but the prices are a little higher than the big box stores. This will definitely be my go to store for home improvement items.

This store has a much larger selection of electrical, pet supplies, farm items, and garden items than other stores in Highland with plenty of staff available to answer questions and assist customers. Plus there is free popcorn everyday in the display as you leave the store. No wonder families with kids love shopping here!

Needed rear tires for my zero turn. Called every Rural King store near me and no one had them. Called this store and they had more than enough. Walked towards the Lawn and Gardening section and was blown away with how much inventory they had. It looked like a Lawn mower shop. I will be coming back for whatever my mower needs. Only gave a 4 star because I only went to that part of the store, and it's 34 minutes from my home, but that's not their fault. Keep it up Highland Rural King.

With they store getting some inside updates which is great there are some issue I must speak on. I purchase on average 400 pounds of feed. Their carts are so tore up that getting feed to my truck a real ordeal. Putting it in a grocery cart tears up the bags. They need to put new wheels on the freight hand carts so Customers can easily pull the loaded cart without injuring our backs. It's a shame they treat customers with such disregard for our health.

The young man floor worker didn't seem to interested in helping customers find things. He was talking to his friends (we heard his conversation while waiting) and when we finally got his attention, he just waved his hand and said 2 or 3 aisles over there and continued his talking to his friends. This used to never happen at RK now hard to find any help on the floor. Cashiers are very helpful and nice, though.

I have been a long time Rural King customer since they opened in Highland, purchasing power tools, electrical and plumbing supplies and lawn and garden equipment over the years.On a Saturday morning in early June I brought in a string trimmer for service. The guy at the service counter told me it might be 3-4 weeks before they would get to it. I told him that's fine, I could wait. He then told me that it could take longer since they focus on "servicing what they sell" first. Again I told him I could wait. He took my trimmer and filled out a work order request. After 6 weeks and not hearing anything., I dropped by on 7/16 to see if my trimmer was ready. The person at the service desk found my trimmer, with service tag still attached and told me they hadn't gotten around to it yet. Very patiently I asked when they might be able to look at it. He explained that "with the storm last week we are very busy" and did not know when they would get to it. "Besides", he said "we have to take care of what we sell first." I said since they could not commit to a date for repair I would take my trimmer and go somewhere else.First, I completely understand prioritizing service for equipment that you sell, that makes sense. BUT I waited almost 2X the amount of time I was originally told the service would take. What I don't appreciate is that even with my contact information, no one called to tell me "it was taking longer than we thought", or "we're still very busy" or just say we don't want to work on your trimmer so take your business and money someplace else. Management needs to rethink their customer service policy.
