My wife and I happened to be stopped by here on August 21, 2017. Yes, that was when the last total solar eclipse happened in the U.S., folks there gave us two pairs of eclipse glasses for free and we watched the totality together. We kept them as a precious memory, and very glad that we are going to use them again in 4 days! Although we cannot make the trip back to the same place on April 8 this year, we wish you all the best and hope that you will also enjoy the total solar eclipse this time as well!

A hidden jewel. Locals know it well, but if you are traveling the area and hiking at Garden of the Gods, Rim Rock / Pounds Hollow make sure and stop in this old-fashioned general store / restaurant / gas station and get yourself a tasty meal. Stopped on a Friday and had catfish, broccoli salad, hush puppies and fried potatoes. Very good food at a very good price.

Owned by a good friend's former co-worker's family we always stop in here to say hello when we're turkey or deer hunting. Nice folks, great burgers and books on southern Illinois history you can't find anywhere else. Love this country store.

I just love this little gas station and grocery and deli. It's like stepping back in time when you walk through the door. Its clean and the food is Wonderful stop in and have a bite to eat sit and talk awhile everyone is always welcome.

Love this place! Awesome post cards. Has really cheap ice cream and all the little things one could need, was staying at timber ridge and forgot ketchup and aluminum foil, so it's great for little pickups. And you can't beat family owned and local

Friendly local store and gas station that sells propane and kerosene also. What a awesome deli and ice cream stop too!!You can't beat their daily lunch specials.

Super helpful, friendly, and convenient. They had everything we needed and even more. They went out of their way to get everything we asked for, even if it wasn’t on display. It is run by an incredibly genuine and kind family, and we are glad we made a stop here.

Excellent food and cheap compared to anyone around .we eat fish here every Friday as it is the best in southern Illinois definitely worth my 45 min round trip just to get it.
