Nice little place. My review won't be that great however. We were seated right away, given menus and drinks. We ordered shortly thereafter. I ordered a burger and sweet potato casserole and she ordered a hamburger horseshoe with Mexican corn soup which she said was hot and delicious. My burger was not assembled well onions were stringing from the plate as they brought it to the table, I opened it and tried to straighten it so I could eat it when I noticed the bacon was curled into hard twisted balls and couldn't be arranged which I assume was the original problem when it left the kitchen, very sloppy. The horseshoe on the other hand was so heavily salted she could only eat about half of it. I tasted a forkful and my god the salt hurt my mouth. Had I known from the beginning I would have sent it back but she is kinder than I and tried to eat as much as she could and didn't want to box what was left. The waitress took my dishes and we waited and waited and waited for the check until finally we went to the bar and asked to be checked out. We paid and left, not good, not going back.

Amazing food! An absolute gem because it takes downhome cooking and puts nice little twists on the dishes to make them classier. For instance green onion garnish for the horseshoe and switching up the classic tenderloin breading for a wet batter.Parking: This eatery is located in the business district so I imagine if there were an event going on that had more than the average amount of people in that area parking would become an issue.Wheelchair accessibility: Two steps from street level to the sidewalk entrance and I did not pay attention to the nearest medium to get to that level via wheelchair. Will update later

First time eating here. If ever in Havana again, we'll definitely stop, and maybe next time, try the fish sandwich. We had gotten the onion rings, which I do recommend, we also got the Babe's shoe and the Tenderloin sandwich. We did this so we could share, but it never happened. Why? Because we never made it to the Tenderloin, oh, we cut a part off to try it and let me say this is a must try. Breading was perfect, and the pork was so full of flavor, and juicy and the "M" word (some don't like that word) with each chew it was still juicy. We made the decision to just eat the Babe cause we thought the Tenderloin would be better reheated. We could barely finish the Babe, and we only got a half of one (I'd hate to see how big a full order is. We really like the Babe. The patty had a nice charcoal flavor, we liked also that it had other topping on it as well. Would we get them again, yes, most definitely. Had to ask for tape so I could close my to-go container, and this was after I took it apart and placed everything together like a puzzle. Almost had to ask for another container. That Tenderloin could feed 2 people. So, like I said, yes, we'd go back. The food was awesome. The service was great, and the atmosphere was very cozy. So yes, if you're thinking of stopping for the price and portions and everything as a whole, it is worth it

Great food and a nice atmosphere. I had a hamburger pony my wife had a BBQ pony and my daughter had a tenderloin sandwich. The ponys were good and the tenderloin was phenomenal. It was thicker than a usual tenderloin bit was good. Also the ponys had homemade fries which were excellent. I would highly recommend going there.

Was in Havana today, went to Babe's on Plum. Had the homemade onion rings with the BPT. Upon arrival the plate was full. The BPT and rings were a bit greasy. I don't do buns, so set it of to the side. The flavor was good with a nice flavor seasoning. Was not crunchy which to me is a negative. Size was more than enough and thickness was good. Would I go back, probably not the grease was too much for my liking.

UPDATE 11/29/2023: We tried it again. I hate writing bad reviews but this is our second time here and we're just thoroughly disappointed. This order was a blue cheese burger with side of bourbon sauce, bacon cheeseburger, fries, onion rings and a small salad. Unfortunately this one put the nail in the coffin and we won't ever return. The burger was thick but very very dry and zero flavor. Mine had no blue cheese taste at all. The onion rings had no "ring" quality. Just a blob of fried onions and the bottom half of them weren't even fully cooked and still doughy. The fries were so incredibly salty they burned your lips and tongue and were completely inedible. Pretty sure there was more salt than potato. The salad was a salad but the blue cheese dressing was one of the worst tasting blue cheese dressings I've ever tasted. Idk what brand it's from but it's like they took a cheap off brand dressing and thinned it with milk. Same goes with the ranch that came with the onion rings(I assume it was ranch but it was so watery and lacked flavor so who knows). This meal was almost $40 and after us each eating maybe a quarter of our burgers, we tossed everything in the garbage. This was by far the most disgusting meal we have ever eaten. The bf is a chef and after his first bite of the burger, his first comment was they need a new chef. I'm sorry to the owner for writing this and hate to criticize especially in such a small community but everything about our meal was truly awful and inedible. I will say tho that the bourbon sauce was fabulous!New in town and this is the first restaurant we decided to try. We ordered the tenderloin sandwiches. They are huge, huge, huge!!! Too big for one person and can easily be split between 2. They tasted great but far too greasy for our tastes. But was very yummy once I removed the batter. Would have preferred it breaded rather than battered and deep fried. The Mac n cheese was kind of bland and the Cole slaw was far too saturated with mayo making it soupy which caused it to lack flavor but had potential to be fabulous. Overall we were satisfied and will definitely try other items in the future.

Everything is so delish🤩it tasted like fresh made everything down to the salad dressings. The sweet potato casserole is a must, sweet cinnamon infused bowl of magic💥. Fried clams and Catfish sandwich so succulent!!! 😋And the HorseShoes are OMG😲This is a must visit no matter where your coming from🎉🎉

Make sure you get the deep fried green beans they are fantastic. The rest of our food was good. My hamburger could use a higher quality bun. My wife loved her spinach and pecan salad.

Babes on Plum is always fun and the food is always great! The appetizers & burgers are really tasty and the menu selection is vast. Fun bar and grill atmosphere with friendly staff! If you are a Havana native or just visiting, you will want to stop in and eat at one of Havana’s favorite restaurants!

Service was good, but the food was a different story. I ordered the Mac and cheese with hot honey chicken, the noodles were very mushy cheese sauce was lacking flavor, but the thing that made me a little mad was it was microwaved! The Mac and cheese was made a day or so earlier and they just threw it in the microwave to warm it up so I had parts of my food were really hot and parts that were still cold and the chicken strips were dry. My hubby got there chicken special he said that the chicken was good, but the au Gratin potatoes were out of a box, overcooked, and they were cold like they sat for a while. All and all service was good but won't go back cause if I wanted warmed up leftover food I would have stayed at home.

First time eating at Babes on Plum. My friend and I aren't able to go on the Spoon River Dr either weekend but we decided to take a ride up to Havana and find a place for lunch before heading across the river to the orchard. I looked up places to eat and Babes won out. We were SO happy with our choice. She had the honey pepper chicken mac 'n cheese & I had the bourbon and swiss with a bowl of the Mexican street corn soup. Generous portions and absolutely delicious! Our waitress was extremely nice. Only thing missing was an offer to refill my drink during my meal. We're already planning our next visit. Downtown Havana and the riverfront area are lovely What a treasure we've found! I'd post pics but there's no option.

Waited over a half hour for our food. When we asked why table behind us that came in 15 minutes behind us got served and we were still waiting. Was told ticket didn't print. No extra drink was offered when glass were low. Homemade potato chips heavily salted and soggy. Husband had to ask for stuff that wS supposed to be on pork tenderloin. Tenderloin very grease. Not a good first impression.

Had dinner with the family, and the food was delicious! I had the southwest burger and homemade chips. The only complaint I would have was that the bun was too big. The service was great, and the food came out quickly. Next time, I will try the Ribeye as the flavor of the burger was great, and I'm hoping the steak will have a similar flavor. They also have a bar, and I look forward to trying it as well.
