There was a hole in the middle of the mattress big enough to fit a German Shepherd in. Started with very little toilet paper in the bathroom and couldn’t get more so I had to ration. Told the desk about both. Called twice one evening trying to get more toilet paper. No I couldn’t go downstairs and get it myself. I shattered my ankle last summer and I’m still trying to recover from that, I was on the second floor. My body was so sore from sleeping on an angle. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Try the Quality Inn next-door. I will next time. The picture really does not do justice to how large that hole in the mattress was.

I didn’t expect much in Southern Illinois but needed to visit family. I was appalled at how a room would be used for a customer in such a filthy state. I didn’t even want to sit my things down. Additionally, the refrigerator didn’t work, was dirty. At no time did house keeping ever come to my room (no do not disturb sign was not displayed). When I asked for towels I got 2. No hand towels. Coffee wasn’t replaced. Everything I had to ask for. I didn’t expect my bed to be made but simple coffee, towels. It’s the least they could’ve done in exchange for this dirty room.

Under remodel however they have not cleaned the stair wells of all debris and we specifically needed a fridge for medical reasons and the fridge was so disgusting the smell almost knocked me over. We got there very late however we did make the front desk aware of the fridge situation and it was just kind of like " oh ok sorry about that" type response. Would not recommend

This property was a delightful surprise. It was not a "High quality" hotel, but it was better than the last few Super 8's we've checked out.The room was neat, clean, somewhat freshly painted, everything in good working condition. The mattress was very comfortable and the pillows moderate, neither too hard, nor too fluffy so as to be flat. It was NS in facility and rooms didn't smell stale once air was circulated.We would definitely stay there again and recommend to other family "going back home to visit."Food & drinks: Breakfast was next to none. Honeybuns, fruit.

I booked 3 rooms. 1 single, 1 double and 1 king. When I arrived, I had 2 single and 1 king. I had trouble when part of my party checked out, they were only staying 2 days, they checked out the wrong room.We made it work because this is only one of 3 places to stay in Harrisburg, Illinois and the other 2 are either full of drugs or WAY more expensive.This was the first time in 4 years this Super 8 has disappointed me. Please do better.Rooms: The rooms were dirty, pubic hair in the bathrooms, dirty tubs and showers, ripped curtains, pop cans and trash left behind from previous guests. The carpets were so dirty that we had to wear socks or shoes the whole time

Honestly with it being a super 8 I didn’t have my expectations set high, but I was pretty dang impressed especially with the cleanliness. The staff were super nice and even made sure to check on us to make sure we were doing alright. Will definitely stay again! Only 26 mins from Garden of the Gods so it’s a nice place to stay for a short vacay!Rooms: Beds were clean and comfy, very impressedNearby activities: Garden of the Gods is 26 minutes away, along with Cave in Rock being 39.Noteworthy details: Food and drink vending machines on site, breakfast is also available.

Very kind Front desk and she was very accommodating and probably only reason why I'll give no more than 2 stars.Glad we only stayed for a night. First room was dirty with bugs and dead flies by the window, left over clothes from the previous guest. I find ridiculous there isnt more than one staff member while were staying.We were moved to a cleaner room but the ac unit had a constant buzzing sound all night. The motel itself just felt so old and forgotten.If you are just staying for the night find somewhere else or drive little longer for better reviewed hotel. For the price I wouldnt recommend it.

While the room was clean and the staff is great, I noticed some issues: no hot breakfast, no regular in-room coffee, no luggage cart. Please stop using Covid as an excuse for not doing breakfast, it's now obvious you're trying to cut corners. Regular coffee packets are not that expensive, and the tiny coffee cups aren't great. And a luggage cart is $100, that's a small price to help travelers. You're charging premium prices for this area, you can afford to do it right.

Was there over the weekend. Staff was friendly. That was the only good thing. First floored smelled like weed the entire weekend. The toilet seat in the room was broken, along with mildew all over the shower wall. TV remote was broken. Couldn’t change channels. Asked for non decaf in our room and they only have decaf for the rooms. The breakfast was only honey buns. The coffee machine in the lobby shoots coffee onto the floor. There were greedy face prints on the window. It worked for one night but wouldn’t stay there longer than that. Glad we were not in our room other than to sleep.

One star because the windows do open and one star for being clean. Minus one for no elevator. Minus one for weird room layout. Had to plug the microwave into the lamp because there were no other sockets. The dresser set under the clothes rack which kinda defeated that purpose. Bathroom floor gives about a 1/4" when walked on. Bathroom fan doesn't come on at first. Takes a minute to build speed. Fire hazard from the sound of it. Desk chair sat sloping to the side. The other chair had no sides. Hard to explain. Just weird furniture. No comfort to be found here. Oh and the shower rod is attached to a board that's screwed to the wall. Just to give ya the quality you can come to expect.

First room I was in the heater/ac didn't work. Decided to tuff it out. That one is on me. No true blanket on the bed, just a sheet and thin throw. Ended up going to Walmart to buy a blanket for the 2nd night. Upon returning to the hotel the smell of weed was so strong there was a haze in the hallway. Ended up having to move rooms because the weed room was across from our room. Rooms are nothing to write home about. Could use a little extra tlc. The service on the other hand was great. The front desk lady took good care of us and made sure we had a different room. 10/10 for her. She even called my new room to let me know she was working on fixing the issue. Definitely won't stay here again. But the service was great.

The staff was wonderful. My boy is autistic and non verbal and a handful and they were very understanding andnon-judgemental,and very helpful when I needed it..❤️

This is a fine hotel considering what was available in the area and I'd stay there again. The room was clean, which was great. Housekeeping was okay though we stayed for 3 days and they'd turn the heat off in the room during the day which took time to warm up when we'd get back. They didn't keep the condiments and towels stocked well either. There were security issues as the outside/side door doesn't lock and anyone can walk in, then our room lock didn't work and they moved us to another room. After that was straightened out, things went pretty well and they were very polite. The morning of checkout we were planning on checking out right at 11:00am because of our schedule and they rushed us a bit. Our room key quit working and then housekeeping asked when we were leaving, then came by and knocked on the door to ask again. Overall a good visit and any problems that came up they did address very quickly and politely.

Was very happy with our stay!!! The reason I can only do 4 stars was several reasons hallway smelled bad, there was some remodeling going on which wasn't a problem . But good side when I called the reservation I could only get 1 king size bed but when I checked in the gentleman at the front desk was able to give us 2 oueensize beds. The room was very clean, bathroom was supplied well with towels, I couldn't set the alarm but no big deal usually use my phone anyway. TV wasn't the best but might have been the operators trying to find a good local channel. The bed and pillows felt so great after 8 hrs of driving. Would for sure go back.

Our room was clean. Everything worked except an extra office chair that was in our room. We didn't need it anyway. It's not a Ritz-Carlton and shouldn't be compared as one. For $79.00 per night, you get what you pay for. Would definitely come back.

I not one to normal complain or do anything like this but what I just went through is wrong. Gave one star because I can’t put zero. Before I made reservation I had my husband to call to insure we could bring my sons dirt bike in something this location has done before for us just a year prior so that it doesn’t get stolen. In today’s world can’t be to safe. They said absolutely that was totally ok last night I called to reserve room on 1st floor told them I would be bringing it in they said absolutely that it was ok. Tonight get there to check informed the person at the counter that I was bring them in he never questioned or said anything as we are bringing it in I had someone run across the parking lot from the other hotel Naresh owns saying that it was not ok. So I go back to the desk to tell employee Nate who I just told we were bringing it into the room and he just okayed them as well. Nate proceeds to say that we would have to keep them outside. I explained I had 3 people confirm that it’s ok to bring them in room prior to checking in. The whole reason we kept insisting on a ground floor room. The bikes are very clean small and well maintained I even brought my OWN ITEMS FROM HOME to insure that there would be NO DAMAGE to their room. Something I didn’t have to do since I had 3 people confirm it was OK. Now let’s get to the part where Nate calls manager Nita and owner Naresh who refused to talk to me over the phone also refused to give me a full refund of my money concerning I was misinformed by apparently 3 separate people. Also went on to tell me I had not spoke to anyone at their store location that gave approval it must of been corporate. So what I do I call corporate and just what do they go on to explain and say. Well they informed me that they had no records of me calling them and that they were not allowed to give that approval because it is an independently own location. They spent about a hour giving me the run around caught them and Nate both in lies and Nate even lies to the owner and manager saying he didn’t give me the approval at check in needless. So I was forced to leave this location store #08758 without my full refund corporate has now opened an investigation because my calls where recorded when my husband and I both called and drive 3hrs back home. All this at 11pm starting to rain and temps are starting to get to freezing and below. It’s sad when my youngest son says why can’t we stay this is the hotel that always allows us to do this why not this time. Pictures of bikes below you be the judge. Signed Jessica Glore

I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. The staff is fabulous the breakfast is extremely good fresh fruits, waffles, cereal, Apple juice and orange juice and milk. If you needed anything and you ask you received it right away a wonderful place to stay the only thing that I found wrong with the pop machine was always empty.

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.My friend worked there, and just quit today (07/19/2018) for many reasons EVERYONE should know about.Starting with BED BUGS. That hotel is infested with bed bugs. Rooms downstairs and upstairs. The same day she quit, a house keeper quit as well after stripping a bed. When she pulled the sheets up the bed was practically black with bed bugs. Bed bugs were crawling up the wall and on her clothes. She ran to the bathroom and shook her clothes off as bugs fell off. She had bites all over her body.Also just last night she had an incident with a guest where the picture above the bed was crooked. Where the picture had started coming out of the wall so did a TON of baby spiders. (INFESTED)She found bed bugs behind the front desk as well today (the day she quit).On top of being infested with bed bugs, the management still rents out the rooms they KNOW are infested with bed bugs. They will just spray things to get them to hide, until the bugs come out at night. 9/10 it's 2am and they are giving that guest a refund as they leave because they are covered in bug bites.On top of that, they ONLY wash sheets and towels.They wash every comforter, and blanket you sleep with ONCE A MONTH.They do not believe in mopping because it brings bacteria.Another HORRIBLE reason why you should NEVER stay at the Super 8 in Harrisburg, Illinois is the FOOD.They reuse all of the food. They have big 5 gallon buckets full of boiled eggs, that they've had for months maybe even years. They reuse them and reuse them. They grab them to put them out for breakfast and to put them back in the bucket if they were not consumed at breakfast. They do not rinse the eggs or even wash their hands before cleaning up breakfast or putting it out. Same thing with the bread. They just put it back and touch it, if not consumed at breakfast. No gloves or clean hands. They also reuse the milk. They just pour it in/out of the gallon. It is so disgusting.Bottom line, I will never recommend anyone staying at the Super 8 in Harrisburg Illinois.& Another thing, the Super 8 shares a parking lot with the Quality Inn. They have the same owner (a husband and wife). So I'm pretty sure you are at risk for the same exact thing if you stay at that hotel also.

Do not go to this place. The entire place smells like cat urine (they claimed it was a mold problem due to a tub overflow.) I was sick after being there one day. "Free breakfast" meant slightly brown water (coffee?) and stale cereal. No shower curtain liners...probably why they have a mold problem. Outside security doors do not lock. A family of 15 lives behind the front desk and you can hear these poor kids crying all the time. I found this place on a pet friendly website. (I wanted to take my TDI dog hiking before he had to be put to sleep.) These people watched me walk in and out for two days with my dog and said nothing. 5 minutes after I left they tried to charge my account an additional $250 as a pet fee, yet the manager refused to come to the phone. Do not go to this place.

Smoking and non-smoking rooms arent segregated, so all public areas smell like smoke. If you're over 6ft tall, you'll see black mold growing on the top ledge of the shower. There was no outlet cover on the outlet right next to my bed - the lamp and alarm clock were plugged into this outlet. Friendly staff. Won't be staying here again.

Seeing how there is only two hotels in Harrisburg it was okay for last-minute family emergency type thing. Just remember it's a 2-star hotel and you're basically getting what you pay for. I did not see no bed bugs or anything like that. My room was clean. However when I asked for extra pillows at the front desk they told me they don't have extra pillows so make sure you bring your own extra pillows if you need anymore then what is already on the bed. There is no air conditioning in the hallways were hot and human since it's like 90 degrees outside and has a little bit of a weird smell. Frigerator didn't work well. However they do get the Plus for having newer TVs in here so you can hook up your own Roku stick and the internet works okay. Not the most comfortable night's sleep but it definitely wasn't the worst place I've stayed in.
