So, we just visited this store yesterday and honestly the vibe in this store was weird. We felt like we were being watched and followed throughout the store. At first I thought it was me, but I asked my husband and he confirmed it. This was the worst feeling ever. I started to put everything back and leave. Zion Ace has the best customer service then the Ace on Yorkhouse and Lewis. I'm sorry I cheated on you! Needless, to say we won't be back. There are other stores that will appreciate us as customers.

I like going to ACE over a big box home improvement store. They do NOT, however, open when its posted that they do, which is confusing. Why post hours on the doors and then not be open within those hours?

The gurnee ace a great location that I’ve been to for many years as it’s the closet one to me. Me and my father have been able to find just about anything we need for any project! Also even a great selection of gardening items that aided me and my mother in our gardening adventures. Always the staff has been wonderful to us in helping out whenever we’ve had any troubles. Recently my mother was telling me about her last trip to ace where Daniel greeted her and politely and assisted her in the gardening section. Another employee by the name of Rose helped direct here to tool equipment that my father needed and had a nice positive attitude while doing so. These employees gave such great help to her the whole way through that she told me to write up a review! Though we don’t write reviews often my mother told me to do this since it felt right after being treated kindly every trip we’ve taken a trip here.

Bought a B&D 20v 3/8" Cordless Driver/Drill Online yesterday, and brought MY current B&D 20v Cordless Drill in for comparison, the knowledgeable young man at the Front Register answered my questions effectively, thus I was "attempting" to buy a New Tool that was essentially the Same so I cancelled this purchase and was Refunded my Charges... GREAT Customer Satisfaction demonstrated by This Store!!! 😄😀💯✔️😷

The store is clean, organized, and very easy to walk in. Nevertheless, some of the cashiers (males) should learn to greet and thank customers. Most of these younger kids have little to no customer service skills.

After having bought too many things for a project, I returned one of them. It was received, processed and refunded in full, in very good order. When I purchased the parts the day before, I was given excellent service. Thank you ACE for that.During the return process I was offered a "free" small United States flag. It had an ACE hardware advertisement attached. Hey ACE, that's the flag of your country, not some cheap advertising gag. I'm sure the veterans who gave all would be happy to have the banner they died for on their grave, but neither they nor their survivors are interested in ACE's cheap ad.

I just purchased an Ego 650 leaf blower from them, got home and went to start it up. But it didn't bit start, headed back and Trevor took care of my return with promptness and amazing customer service. Definitely will be purchasing here more often!

I placed and order online for my mother (Vivian Straughter). She parked and I called to do curb side pickup. The lady on the phone was very polite and nice. Once my mom arrived home she called to tell my how nice and helpful the young man was. His name was Chris and he was super patient. He offered her options where to place the order in her vehicle. Once everything was loaded she offered him a tip but he told her no thanks and told her to be careful pulling out of the parking lot. I'm hoping he gets this review so he can know how much I appreciate him taking good care of my 86 year old mother who couldn't stop singing his praises. Thank you Chris! Thank you Ace Hardware!

They saved me $350.00 when they recommended that I fix my pool filter pump with Vaseline for the o rings. I had just bought a new one from Great escape because they don't fix them. Well it tried it and it worked. He could have just said sorry I can't help you. That's what customer set is all about. I I continue to shop there.👍👍👍

Overall, not a friendly place."Top Tier"? Puleeeeez, I've had finished keys tossed to me across the counter, a Canadian nickel I inadvertently used to pay for something ("we can't use this here" I was told as if I was trying to slide something past the cashier as she tossed it across the checkout counter), told Ace couldn't help get some decorative rivets for a dead bolt from Schlage so I called Schlage and 6 of the rivets in a week n/c.Missing screws in a kickplates package. don't remember any dates or names. I didn't notice or remember. There have been other instances I won't waste further time recalling.Might use Ace for loose fasteners

Great experience everytime and always a helpful staff with whatever your concern or questions may be. Great place to get those specific items either nuts bolts or any other odds and ends that the big box stores don't carry.

I have been an Ace customer for many years. I like its quality products and services. Its convenient location is very close to other essential, user-friendly businesses in our community. When it comes to hardware uses, if I don't know, one of Ace's senior associates usually does. It all makes sense to me. It's very hard to beat an "Ace."

I've never met a "friendly hardware man" in this store.I've key copies pitched AT me from your key guys. I was looking for 2 tiny decorative rivets that fit into a Schlage deadbolt, was told right off the clerk doubted they were available. I called Schlage, took me 5 minutes on the phone with them and I had 6 in the mail to me, no charge. Not too long ago I bought a brass kickplates for my front door, the hardware was missing.There have been other experiences I don't remember.I took a chance on this Ortho Bugclear. You had it and the price was the same as Menards. Score one for Ace Gurnee.I won't waste my time coming to your store

My wife went in to get a 17lb propane tank filled. The personnel at the store said they could fill it but had to charger her for 20lbs because a 17lb tank was not in there computer. What a load of BS. I would not recommend any one go to this store for propane!

Purchased Flag Fans and a USA Flag. Sales person was VERY helpful and spent quality time explaining our options. Love this store and will continue to shop there.
