Prices are nothing special. Staff is absolutely ghetto and rude. Was there on New Year’s day and my cashier (didn’t get her name) was bleeding on her hand and just proceeded to get blood on the merchandise I was about to buy. Needless to say I left without buying anything. That cashier also looked stoned/high or something. Overall this place (for being military) is an absolute let down. Go to Walmart.

I have been coming to this exchange for ~35 years, since my mother who is navy veteran, took me here when I was little. Everything is clean, well organized, and modestly priced. There is one thing that stands out every time I go there: Dean. Dean checks the IDs at the door and greets the guests. He is kind, honest, diligent, and reflects positively on the NEX and the sea services as a whole. Dean always appreciates veterans of all ages, from freshly minted sailors to elderly retirees. I look forward to seeing Dean when I go shopping at NEX. Please commend this man.

I think the Navy Exchange at Burkey Mall is an excellent department store. Electronics, clothes, shoes, home goods, tools, pet supplies, kitchen wares, etc. They will match any price you can find locally. I just bought a Nikon D5600 camera kit, inclusive of two lenses (18-55mm & 70-300mm) They had it on sale for a fantastic price, but I found it online at a local big box store for a few dollars less and they matched it...no problem! That's not the first time I've asked them to price match and they always do. Currently (2/15/20) the store is undergoing a major transformation and the layout is the best its ever been. I especially like how they've moved the electronics department from the room in the southeast corner of the store to the back of the store along the west wall. Much more open space and easier to move about. Tons of sale items can be found now in what was the electronics room and all about the store, as well. Here's a ton of pics that I just took which are very representative of what you can expect to find. Based on the no-tax sales you'll benefit from and the fact that they will absolutely price match things you can buy elsewhere, locally, shopping here is a no-brainer!

Went in this morning and asked if they had anything from my son's division and the cashier was over the top rude and said he didnt understand what I was asking then said they dont get anything from that and I said then you do understand what Im saying and you can just say no. An african american male with a bad eye and no name tag. Wont be going back. Thankfully my son is in another state now. So disappointing.

I just have to commend how amazing this staff is. My husband lost his wallet here. Michael and David were amazing in making sure my husband received his wallet even though we live out of state. I can’t express how grateful we are.

We are a military family and was there for my son's graduation ceremony. The location was nice. We picked up our tickets here and very well organized for pick up. We were able to do some shopping and get a lot of Navy clothes and souvenirs. We went there serveral times. The staff were friendly and helpful with us finding things. Nice place to shop.

It's an okay place to shop. It used to be a fantastic place to shop. They had an assorted variety of things to choose from. The stock is somewhat limited, and the prices are right up there with everyone else; only difference is, they don't charge tax.

I don't understand how people are shopping here without a military ID. This store is a military exchange you should either be active duty, retired military or have some other qualified identification to get in the store. Just more of the downgrading of the military thanks to our lackluster leadership.

Most registers are card only and no cash back. They have a few cashiers and they are worse than the ones who have been here. Half of the clearance items are marked wrong and come as regular price. Better off shopping online.

The store management appears to be doing the best they can with limited budget and staffing choices. The encroaching neighborhood "krud" is causing a degradation of general community. Hats off to all who serve our country!

Nothing here. No funiture, no appliances and toys for kids like other NEX's have. Supprised it's still operating. Since being here, i think we have bought a few items, probably not even $500.00 worth. We get more selection and better prices in the mall or online. Why did they close down the funiture and appliance store? They say you can order online from NEX. It's not the same, because you can see, touch it or even sit down on it to see how it feels. These people don't support Navy or retired personnel. You need to do better.

We wandered through this exchange after picking up the tickets to our daughter's graduation. There are so many souvenirs and gifts to choose from and most of it is priced very fairly. If we had a question about anything help was within 10 feet of us at any time. The employees are extremely nice and attentive... not sure if they are civilians, ex military, family or what, but all were very helpful. The NEX had everything we were looking for except pet supplies... we were hoping to find a Navy branded dog sweatshirt or collar but no luck.

It has been many years since I last shopped this NEX. Our first year after bootcamp we were here for a year. 16 years ago. I've been from coast to coast, N. to S. and have shopped them all.The entire area has changed. It's like a ghost town with everything either boarded up and out of business but with the few that remain, it seems they won't be around much longer. The housing over here was getting renovated and looking at it now, I believe some of the housing is used for section 8.The NEX shelves are bare. Pandemic? Maybe, maybe not. Times are tough and it feels very sad to know what used to be busy and thriving is nearly a shell of what was. The few employees aren't looking too thrilled to be at work, but who can really blame them.Our military has been depleted over the years, closing bases all over the US, and that was all done by desig, was it not.I'm being let go due to higher tenure in 2 weeks. 4 years and could have had retirement, but again, that isn't what the military is about anymore. Started here and came full circle.

Picked up tickets to Graduation. Every one was so nice. Gets packed in there but they have lots of Navy gear at good prices. Check your receipt before you leave because I was overcharged for a few items. They can even ship gear to your home

Came here to shop for some groceries. Fair prices and loved the New Zealand kiwis that they have in the produce isle. Also picked up their sushi. Sushi was good. Not comparable with the restaurant ones and you shouldn't. However the sushi chef was very nice and offered me a shrimp roll sample and it was great!

Was my choice for black Friday sales and they had a plenty. Everything had discount. Quality leather coats on sale. Even jewelry reduced. Excellent time spending money for gifts. One catch: you must have some form of military ID to gain admittance.

Nice items. Some decent pricing. There is an area open to the public, for tourists coming to see their kids graduate. I liked that there is a barber shop for my son.Also inside had big name items for the military members.Strange man outside soliciting donations and spouting political rhetoric.

The new remodeling project is progressing well. Love it when my favorite styles of clothing are on sale. I always find a cute thing or two. So glad the "Below Deck" cheep, tacky clothing is being moved to a cave. It was awful and irritating to see. Fashions are starting to have a much better quality and most of the pricing is pretty reasonable. Pet food is a go to for me but there are times the brand or flavor I go for is not available, kind of frustrating. I would like to see the Exchange have a larger line of Hartz Delectables and canned cat food. But, Thanks for the new look and better quality.

I go there regularly now for my hair cuts. They have a very low price and just the style of cut which I like as a retiree from the Massachusetts Air National Guard. I enjoyed the Illinois Air National Guard too before moving to Boston for work. I like to tip them well because they are friendly people and do good work every time regardless of who cuts my hair.

With the changes going on inside I felt the selection was limited. The check out line was way to long and for a holiday weekend not enough employees were their to assist customers. To be honest this was one of the worst Navy Exchanges I have visited in my 45 years of being military affiliate.

This place is a disgrace, do not shop at this dump, Macy’s have cheaper prices than this place, everything is outdated. They’ve had the same Kate’s spade bags for a year that’s sold for $250-$300 when the most the Kate Spade website sells it for is $150, I just looked, Macy’s has the Michael Kors on sale for cheaper, they have last year’s and the year before Estée Lauder blockbuster sets out to sell this year for the holidays.All the clothing and merchandise in this store is old and outdated, beware when buying beauty products, the Lancôme mascaras had probably been sitting there for 10yrs it’s dried out, you can find the high end liquors they offer cheaper at other liquor stores, ummmm it like these people live under a rock, this isn’t a overseas base where we don’t have a lot of options to shop here, I feel like this place is designed to swindle money out of the young newly graduated sailors and the older vets that still believe that they’re spending less, thats not the case , if you’re about to buy something please pull out your phone and look at different options from other places, the atmosphere in the store gives off goodwill store vibes, this it very disappointing, maybe think about upgrading your management, they’re about 10yrs behind.

So my son is in the Navy now and this store sells a lot of cool stuffs and clothing, that all says Navy of something on it. Love it. Bought me some NAVY plates, tee shirts, drinking bottles, mugs etc. Got them all at reasonable prices. And did not need a Navy Id to enter the store, unlike the commissary next door. Came here to get our tickets August 29th ... the people are friendly, security was on point , no ID ... no tickets ... not a problem till after we got our tickets .. I lost my ID in the department store and someone was nice enough to turn it in .. so on Friday morning I was freaking out because I had to have my ID with my ticket to get into graduation ceremony hall ... we came here and a lady at the door recognize me before I could ask anything about my ID ... she said " I think I may have your ID " what's your last name ... I told her and she said yes we have your ID ... what an amazing feeling to be recognized by someone you have never meet ... got my ID .. thank them all for being helpful ... spent 5 days in the area .. came back to this location for more shopping after the graduation ... hope to be doing some more traveling here in the area ... I look forward to shopping here again ... Thank you everyone again ....
