You flat out can’t beat their prices. Might not find everything you want but it’s a definite “first stop” when you’re loading up. Save at least 1/3 on items.

Great Lakes has always been a good place to shop. Courteous, great people. This trip we spent the most we have ever. The prices were noticeably higher. (Like every where else). With no sales tax we did the math and our savings was a little over $5.00 compared to Illinois sales tax. If you were a thrifty shopper with sales etc at other stores you would save more than the Commissary. The belief you save 20-30% in our opinion is no longer true. What is even more concerning to us is the Service members and families that do not have the financial resources etc. The commissary system should really take note because the bottom line it should not be a business vs a benefit.

The place is fairly clean and put together. Some of the staff are nice and some show how much they dislike their job. Overall, it's a good place to go to, and they have good prices for their products.

Awful produce section. Looks like left over from other places. Ridiculously expensive for the poor quality. With so many places around offering True fresh options I just don't get it. The Electronic self-check out is awful and most employees (not all) don't seem to want to be there. Not staying on top. Rather pay mote for better opción, and service.

We. My husband and me had several encounters with one of the persons who is actually there to put the bought items from the customer on bags, bring them to their car and load them into the vehicle. She always has problems to do so. We tried to be nice, but all we get from this person is negativity. If she is still there next time I go in the commissary shopping und I get her again I will have a conversation with a supervisor and/or manager about this lazy woman

Has a little bit of everything that you could want in a grocery store. Meat Dept is ok as well as the fresh veggies and fruits. Love the sushi kiosk. Prices are very good and usually items go on sale with the newspaper coupons so even more savings. Pretty good selection of gluten free items.

Recently at my sons graduation I along with my family was not allowed to enter. I presented both my FLDL with Veterans label and MY Veterans ID and rep told me to return with the graduate. I didn’t return and I didn’t inform management. I was embarrassed as a Veteran and angry. This has never happened before.King USMC 85-93 Honorable Discharge

It's okay. I love the sushi counter, so nice and he gives samples. Delish! That said, it's kind of small and the selection is small. I am used to the clean, brightly lit and huge selections at Fort Benning especially, and in Fort Knox.

Not up to the standards I've experienced at other DeCA locations. Items frequently out of stock, often for weeks. Rotation of perishable foods frequently an issue and sometimes outdated products are offered for sale. Some staff extremely rude. Military members deserve better.

Always check expiration dates- I bought Ocean Spray juice in November that had expired in August. Bought Oscar Meyer deli turkey on the 29th of Dec turns out that was the expiration date too. My husband checks the Wholly Guacamole every time we go but the past few months it’s been expired by over a week on the shelves. The meat selection is great and the employees are nice but I’m going to have to stop shopping there for anything else.

Medium sized supermarket with a good amount of vittles. A good array of foods. Serving mainly the active and retired armed forces. Somethings are highly priced and cheaper close to my neighbourhood, or things are worthwhile. Same can be said about the Base exchange (BX). 75 minutes drive from Indiana border. You have to decide if its worth it.

Friendly people in the Exchange and Commissary. You cannot beat the Prices. I like to drive down with my friend and buy the family sizes of as many things as possible and split them. For us, it is a 44 mile drive, but even with the gas spent going back and forth, we save enough to make up the difference, especially since we go once or twice a month and stock up. It is a nice day out for us. Just don't forget about the 5% upcharge.

This is the WORST Commissary I've ever shopped at. The produce is always either spoiling or rotten. Mold develops on my greens two days after purchase. Carrots and green beans are always slimy and there's no dates on the bags so you really just don't know. I've found outdated milk, yogurt and egg nog (December 26, in February. Come on ppl) and other items nearly outdated a week more or less. I've complained by phone twice, talked with associates at the store, and even tried contacting the produce manager. No response. I guess they don't care to serve rotten food to the men, women and their families who are serving the very soil they stand on. Despicable. I am contacting the corporate office next.

sad sad and more sad, old dirty and rude cashiers. They also change the prices near pay day which is absolutely underhanded. Im not making this up they do it on various items or they purposely withhold coupons. The selection is crappy i wouldnt buy any produce or meat here. the only thing going for it is the deli which is unusual in a commisary because most of them suck. this place needs an hard remodel and employee retraining. ive compared prices with other places and from what i see over all the price saving is about 12 percent. however i can find bread and milk cheaper at other locations.

Nice selection. Walmart price comparison was real close. Are you trying to close all deca locations? I heard that as a rumor several years ago. What ever happened to doing things for the military and benefits?
