I’m very happy that I took my dog to get his nails cut here. I have tried several other places over the past year or more. One place even gave him medication to calm him, but nothing worked. He just would not let them touch his feet. I walked him in canine clippers and we were done in less than 10 minutes. It was such a relief! We will be back.

I drive a half hr. To go there. They do a great job on my golden. They are very nice and I love that it's not big place so there is not a lot of commotion.

Doodle owners beware. We have used this groomer for years when we had a golden retriever. It was great. Prices were low and she was always clean and well groomed. We now have a golden doodle puppy. Went in for a “first trim.” Said no shave, just a bath, nail clipped and maybe light scissor if needed. Picked up my dog and found her entire face and neck shaved, her read end shaved and an uneven cut that makes her look ridiculous with a part down the middle of her head. She looks awful. When I mentioned that I didn’t want her shaved? The response was “well good thing it grows.” For those that say she was “matted” and needed a shave, she wasn’t. We brush her everyday and only her entire face was shaved. She looks so bad I can’t even take pictures of my new puppy. I’m heartbroken and upset. I give them one star for they must do well with some breeds, like they did for my other dog, but if you have a doodle stay away.

We took our dog there today to have a simple nail clip. After we got home, we started to see blood everywhere on the floor and carpet. They cut one nail too short and the bleeding didn't stop for hours! It is so sad and upsetting! We believe it was the owner who actually did the clipping. You can see the wound from the photo. The photo was taken over 6 hours later and still looks really bad. This was not our first time going there but we will never go back again.

We wanted to try a new grooming place and this popped up. Our puppy came out of that place like a 5-yr old was playing around with clippers/scissor. He had patches of missing fur everywhere. I mentioned it to the owner and she wanted to make it right. She said to bring him in a couple of weeks to do it over. I called a few days after our initial conversation to let her know that I would rather bring him back a few months after so his fur grows longer.A couple months passed and we brought him back - after his appointment the owner still wanted us to pay. (Another customer came in to pick up their pup) and then with an attitude, she just said "Just go! Just go!"I really think that the only reason that I didn't end up paying is that the other customer was inside the shop with us and she probably didn't want that customer to hear what we're arguing about.After all this, we will NOT be back here! Hope, if you do try this place, that you'll have a better experience than us.

If you have a super anxious and panicky dog who has some trauma with paw-touching & strangers, don’t ask but just come here. No other place in town welcomed my dog or treated him in a right manner. The lady who seems so calm, professional, and experienced let me sit and hold my crazy panicky dog, and in 1-2min the trimming was all done! Even my dog was like - oh, it’s not too bad! - kinda look. Lol Anyways, thank you so much for your amazing service. I’m so glad to find this place. 💜

The owners are the most caring and loving dog grooming that I have ever met. My dog felt so comfortable there, and my dog gets nervous and over-excited with everyone. Their cost of dog grooming are very reasonable prices.I Totally recommend this place.One thing though, their business is actually behind Tastee Freeze on Hawley, you almost can't find their store on Center St. like my GPS Google map showed. But helpful business neighbors and/or Canine Clippers owners, got me there.

We came in for a nail clipping and the staff was very professional, down to earth, and made our pup feel as comfortable as possible. Not to mention we were in and out the door in about 5 minutes for five bucks! Will definitely be returning for more services in the future.

Great staff and great prices. Always very friendly and smiling. We moved away from the area and I travel quite a ways to still take our dog Lily to them. Highly recommend Canine Clippers. They also do a great job.

First time here they cut our labradors dew claw extremely short to the point where we couldn't stop it bleeding all day, despite packing it with corn starch and keeping her away from it and dry. had to take her up to the vet. They put some stuff into the nail to pack it and put a bandage on to help with the bleeding, our poor baby now has a cone and and a bandage and is miserable. The vet also told us that several of her claws had been missed out and not trimmed or touched (the vet then did them for us) and also they had split a couple of them they had done. Please go elsewhere. Yes they were lovely people but i have zero confidence in them and the "reasonable cost" cost me a whole lot more and worst of all a pup in pain who is now afraid to have her nails touched and wasn't bothered by it before.

I have been taking my 12-1/2 yr old shepherd mix dog here for baths and nails for over two years. He has learned to trust the groomers---he always gets a treat. Nice people, good groomers and reasonable prices...I am very glad that I found them and have no reason to look elsewhere.

Not the cleanest facility I've ever been in. Doggo was crated before and after appointment, about 4 hours total. Crate was not refreshed from previous dog. Satisfied with outcome of actual grooming, but dog developed a urinary tract infection and came home with a poopy butt. Seemed very thirsty also, so not sure if she got water while there. Not certain we'll go back.

When we moved to Grayslake, we were on the hunt for a good groomer. We have two American Eskimo dogs who are both in need of consistent grooming and a patient handler. One is old and grouchy and the other is a rescue who has cage fright. The staff here have been wonderful with my pups. I don’t stress out about taking them to be groomed anymore! Not to mention, they work hard to fit you in when you need it, even shorter notice. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

We are new to the area and read the reviews so I felt comfortable taking my shi tzu to get groomed there. Everyone was very nice but it was the worst haircut my shi tzu has had in 13 years. Totally uneven all over especially his head and I am not extremely picky but this was pretty bad. It will grow but we won't be back.

After a recommendation we took our Golden Retriever for a bath and nail trim. How disappointed to have her come back smelling like wet dog! No shampoo smell at all. The nails were kind of cut, but truly for the money I paid, It was very disappointing.

Ive known marva the owner since i was about 7 yrs old she clipped our teacup podle she used to put bows in her ear hair and painted her toe nails. Knew before her brother owened r&r pet shop the only pet store around.. Well im almost 44 now and my husband bought me a very very expensive puppy and i take her to marvas shop just like when i was a kid my mom just got a new big dog and she cried when she saw the great job marva did on her. I highly recomend canine clippers in grayslake Illinois. She groomed in the back of her brothers store she knows what shes doing u will get what u ask for and more i wouldnt take my puppy anywhere else..

I recently took my dog to get groomed and when I got her back she was extremely patchy and had multiple razor cuts on both sides of her face and hind legs. Its one thing when you accidentally clip a pet, but its an entirely different thing to scar a pet then try to cover it up with excess fur. I will not be back and I encourage you not to support this business if you care for your pets.

I have been doing my own grooming of our dog for the last 3 years and finally decided to let someone who does this as a profession handle it. I simply wanted her hair trimmed to the same length and specifically NOT short. Along with her nails clipped. She came back with a half inch length hair and she looks horrible. She is a maltese yorkie mix and doesn't look like either now. She is a tiny dog and even in the spring needs as much hair as possible. Will never return.
