They're a good store some of the best prices not the best selection. Don't forget your change a quarter for a cart and some for bags or BYOB. Some like to sit outside and take carts in to collect quarters, so if you see someone maybe offer your cart and save a trip back inside.

Prices been raised and look at the new bags. They are 3 inches smaller then the original ones they used to have. Pay more and get less. Democratic Party will not be happy until all American citizens go poor so they can keep giving Illegal immigrants our taxes by raising food prices and shrinking everything.

The prices and the selection is great . The people there are very helpful and very nice . I was short on cash and the lady at the register help me out with the cash I was short . I thank her so very much . Not saying this is going to happen all the time. But for this one time only shows where people's hearts are .

This place has good prices, but they don’t do Apple Pay or Samsung pay. Contactless payment is at small businesses all over Granite City, and the fact they don’t have it is very annoying. I can accept that it’s my fault if I load up a cart full of groceries but forgot I gave my debit card to my wife; but that’s exactly the kind of situation Apple Pay is for. I had to leave almost $200 worth of groceries behind and go shopping at ALDIsSo; is it worth the extra 4 minutes to drive to ALDIs just so I *know* I can always pay the bill? Maybe it is. But that seems like a lot of money that Ruler Foods is going to leave on the table.

Good prices but cashier is too busy talking to her co worker that refused to open a nother register had several people on line and cashier was slow waited 5 minutes for her to ring up 5 of the 20 items ringing about 1 item a minute other person in front of me had over 100 item I do not have 30 plus minutes to wait while your cashier is to busy talking to check people out and other worker thinks emptying trash is more important that taking care of customers both should be trained or fired

Chelsie is a night manager Granite City Ruler Foods and she treated us horribly. She rudely mishandled what should have been a simple situation.Without going into much detail - there was a price discrepancy of $2.00 between an item that was clearly advertised and how it rang up.The cashier was more than polite and tried to adjust the price but needed a manager over ride so she called Chelsie.Chelsie came to the register and refused to change the $2.00 price, claiming that item was not correct. So...my husband walked over, looked again, and it was clearly marked for the advertised price.STILL Chelsie refused, took our item and walked away.As she walked over to put our items back on the shelf I went over to take a photo of the advertised price and she had removed it!I asked her where the sign went and she completely ignored me and walked away!We have many local options to choose from when it comes to our grocery shopping. The place that treats us with kindness and respect is where we will be spending our money.I do want to add that Jennifer the cashier was very nice and understanding. Chelsie however is not worth our time or money.

The local Ruler is always clean, and well stocked. If there is an item you're seeking, and can't find it, the staff will search for it in the back. They can also special order items.Produce, like all produce, is hit and miss for quality. Most of what I've purchased at Ruler is fresh and ripe. Their prices are excellent.Ruler Foods has a policy: if you can find an item they carry for a lower price elsewhere, they will not only match that price, but *change* their price for that item, benefitting all customers. I experienced this with wet dog food. Another store had it for ten cents cheaper than Ruler. The Ruler manager confirmed the other store's price, gave me the lower price, then immediately changed the price on wet dog food in the store.So far, I've yet encounter any poor service from staff. They are always courteous, knowledgeable, and helpful.

The selection varies so they dont always have exactly what I want or need and I dislike bagging my own groceries and having to pay 25 cents to use their shopping cart. Produce is not that great...small selection and usually not fresh. But employees are super nice and its conveniently located.

I was behind a guy at the checkout that thought the potatoes he purchased was on sale n did not ring up at that correct sale price.....the checker called the manager who tried to find a weekly ad which took him a lengthy time and he came up empty handed . he was not concerned about people waiting in line and was never in a hurry. I worked 14 years at a grocery store and our managers ran to help customers....and each checker ALWAYS had a ad at their station. Very unprofessional. Managers should be trained.

The BEST prices around my area by far. Staff is awesome at stopping what their doing to help you out. Always rotating the food boxes I've noticed to. Great staff. I'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK! !!!

It used to be a cheap place to shop, now the prices are a lot higher, the lines are long, like every other place. Every place has help wanted signs in the windows.

The store was clean and organized. However the day that I went they were stocking the frozen section so there were a lot of items that had not made it to the shelves yet however this is no slight against them because they did have plenty of employees on the floor stocking

Very good prices on most things. Generic and Kroger brand foods are pretty good. Recommend the Death by Chocolate ice cream. Don't recommend the yogurt.

I love this store ever since I found them. So much cheaper then shopping at Aldi's. Very seldom do I find anything cheaper somewhere else. I asked a worker one day why the milk was reduced because date was so far out. (Many other items had been reduced also) They explained that they can only have 3 different dates on shelves. So if there is a 4, the oldest gets reduced to ensure never having expired items in the store. I've gotten milk for $1.00 a gallon with a shelf date of over 2 weeks n bread, buns, little Debbie cakes for as cheap as $.39 a loaf or package. LOVE the staff. Oh n they take coupons to include kroger coupons since they carry kroger brand.

The prices are really cheap, quality food. I like the produce, and always look for those store discounts. Its one of my favorite grocery stores, but the granite city store is busy and not enough checkers. If it was collinsville it would be a 4 stars or 5 stars. The bbq chips are the second best bbq chips. Open pit by jays is the best bbq chip.

A little high on the prices of some things. Also allot of work for the customers get and pay for there on carts and bags too then bag your own food as well then put cart up 2 get your money back! Lol it's allot of work 4 one person with a couple of kids on top of it all!!! Lol It's a pretty good bargain food store just not 4 a lazy person!!! Lol!!! Good place to go!!!!!!!

Well usually i would not do this but ive just been called by the insurance company of the Kroger company. Sept 23rd i was walking out of the Ruler foods here in granite city. There is a trip hazard by the ramp coming out of the store and of course i found it and my shoe caught the corner of the chipped concrete. Needless to say 3 cracked ribs and jammed shoulder later they have the nerve to tell me it isnt a hazzard and it was my fault i fell. Denied my claim!! WTH...also its about 1/4 of an inch deep by the way. I will deal with the owners of the property. Maybe they will man up and do whats right. I WILL NEVER GIVE RULER MY BUSINESS AND WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO. Their manager, who was extreamly nice, said she has reported this problem at least 3 times and her dm has too and it is STILL not fixed. Sad!!!

Their washroom looks like a horror room. This place sells food there is absolutely no reason why they should have a dirty bathroom. Disgusting.

It’s a great store it’s really Kroger and their prices are at least a third cheaper than Schnucks I wouldn’t go any place else
