Safe and Clean. Friendly staff. Great produce and fresh meats. It's always a pleasure in shopping. Pharmacy has knowledgeable staff. Check 10 for 10 to stretch your dollar.

I called the Deli to order a whole block of cheese & the woman who answered was as bad as no help at all!! Because that’s what she gave me was No Hell with a touch of a bad attitude. I was nothing but polite & kept trying to talk with her but all I got was rude “No” & “I don’t know!”

Bring extra time with you. Very long lines (still using the covid line system), on top of that large problem they just reduced their self checkout to 10 items or less, this isn't dollar general. It's against my belief system to count my items for them(sounds like work and I don't get paid). So I always identify as 10 items or less. ;)

My partner and I have celiac disease and have to eat gluten free. Every time we find a product we like they stop carrying it. Most of the employees are great, but there is this one cashier (Kathrine I think?) That has accused my partner of trying to steal, has tried to double charge both of us several times, and is all around just not friendly or very good at her job. This store is literally walking distance from my house, but it looks like I'll have to drive 30 minutes to Edwardsville to find food and ingredients my partner and I can eat without getting sick.

I love this store and have shopped here for years but their quality stock and inventory is declining.Beware of expired items such as bread, tortillas, canned goods and more. Over the past several months we have purchased items and discovered they're expired by days, weeks, and even months. Be sure to check the expiration date on all items!! I have made store clerks aware but the issue seems to have gotten worse.I have had to make trips to Edwardsville to shop at Deirbergs..which is also expensive but I'd rather pay for good quality over expired items

Someone used my account to give Scnucks a 4 star review. Not sure how that happened, but I'm here to set the record straight. My problem with Schnucks are their exuberant prices on pretty much everything. As inflation goes down, food prices will remain high as they always do. Anymore, you have to be rich to shop there. I do the majority of my shopping at Wal-Mart, Rulers, and Aldies. Recently I've started ordering some thing's on Amazon.

This Scnucks always seems to be understaffed. I never have the issues checking I encounter here at any other store. If you go to the back of the store, you will find this coffee machine that has been "Coming Soon" since 2021!

One of the things I love about Godfrey Schnucks is the ever-expanding offers for organic food. The store is really good with having a variety of fresh vegetables. We were really impressed with the variety of olives. We have never seen an olive bar such as this one. It's worth, checking it out for yourself. Don't forget to check out the distressed item.

It's a great place to shop but things are more expensive for no reason. For example a drink I normally buy is 2.39 but it's 2.79 at Shnucks which is normally what I'd pay at a gas station and a 12 pack is 2.00 more and is literally a penny savings per ounce, which is a joke.

Shoppers are friendly. Employees are rude.I've had numerous issues here before, but today is the last straw.I prefer using the self checkout machines for three reasons:1. It is faster. There is usually a long line of carts waiting in the understaffed checkout lanes. The cashiers are forced to do the bagging as well, which slows things down even more.2. Most of the employee baggers are not good at bagging things properly. I've had situations where they use one bag per item! When I do it myself, I can minimize bags used and optimize placement of items so that cold things are with cold things, soft things aren't getting crushed by hard things, and so on.3. It's more sanitary. Pandemic or not, I don't want someone else touching my food. I've seen cashiers sneeze and cough, and I don't want that going on something I'm about to eat.Around this time last year, they modified the self-checkout machines to include weights underneath the bags. You can search other 1-star reviews to see how that went. I guess these are supposed to reduce theft, but I'm not sure how. They only serve to frustrate legitimate customers.Furthermore, if you use the remote scanner, then you CANNOT place the item in a bag (due to the weights). So you are supposed to use the remote for items to be left in the cart. This confused absolutely every shopper who is used to being able to bag items after using the remote, like at literally any other store.I've also had numerous issues scanning items. A while back, a bar code accidentally trigged by placing bananas on the scanner (in order to weigh them) and sent the system into an infinite loop where I was forced to start over (it was the last item in my cart!) and go to a cashier. Recently, I've scanned items that refused to come up at all, even with manual search entry. The employees then ask me "do you remember how much that was?" because they have no way to look it up themselves.Also, unless it is hidden beneath their horrible user interface, it doesn't look like there's a way to redeem your Reward points at self-checkout. I ended up accumulating a lot over the years because I would self-checkout every time, but I think most points expired by the time I went to a cashier.By the way, I've had several instances in the past year where I would scan food that turned out to be past expiration date. They aren't very good at cleaning expired food off their shelves, apparently. Thankfully the one good thing is that the system refuses to let me buy it.Now, today I found out something even worse.I brought my cart full of items to the self-checkout, but was told that I had more than 20 and should go to the cashier. Okay, fine. I've timed myself doing these, and I know I would be fast enough to avoid holding up the line (especially because of how often the self-checkout glitches out and holds up the line anyway). But rules are rules.I was then told that self-checkout "would be getting slower anyway." I kind of wished I'd asked more to find out what that means, but I probably wouldn't be told much. My only conclusion (if this is true) is that these machines are being actively sabotaged to frustrate customers, sending them to the understaffed checkout line and frustrating them even more.As a software developer, this self-checkout system is beyond pathetic. I sent a support ticket a year ago and heard no response. But I would be more than happy to work with you to provide a better solution for customers. Please do reach out.Until then, I am done shopping here, even if it means driving a few minutes more each time. It is not worth the stress, and certainly not worth the money.

The safety of children in this store is of no concern to the managers at this store. Since March, I have requested weekly for a safe way to shop with 2 children (twins) who are unable to ride unharnessed in the cart. One cart they have provided has ALL of the seatbelts cut out of it or are broken. The other? Has a blown tire. I’ve been told to put my 17 month olds in where the groceries go. How is that safe? Managers Mary and Jill do not care about the safety of their customers. Both have given me attitudes in the past regarding this issue and when requesting products for my child’s allergies. They say they’ve been contacting corporate weekly with no results. I’m calling their bluff. A child will end up getting injured in this store due to their negligence.

This is my "Go to" grocery store. Fresh produce, great deli department and good prices. Staff is courteous, friendly and always helpful if I have trouble finding an item.The remodel is coming along nicely. It is being done with minimal impact on shopping. I love the new look and upgrades. I love my Schnucks!

The customer self-check out is a mess! The system is so overly sensitive that even though I have used it multiple times, I can not get through there without having some assistance. Today, I only had a few items to purchase. I take my own bags and for the first time, I was asked by the machine if I was using my own bags. I had to touch the "Yes" button three times for it to register with the machine. I began scanning and putting my items away in my bags. The machine now itemizes the items with numbers. When I looked at the lemons, I thought it said 4 lemons. I asked the "helper" who was overseeing the self-checkout - JASON - for some assistance. He was extremely rude! Instead of simply remarking something like, "I'll be right with you," he dismissed me with an impudent wave of his hand. When he came to the checkout area where I was working, he was equally abrupt and impolite.I try to use the self-checkout when I don't have many items and they are consistently a challenge! The customer has to put the items in a very, very small bag area. The machines are overly sensitive. I am convinced that they have been designed to discourage people from using them. I will avoid shopping at Schnucks in the future and will certainly avoid using the self-checkout! I don't normally get upset with life's minor upsets but this was infuriating!

After 31 of being a customer at this store, I will not be going back. I will drive out of my way, and go to another Schnucks to shop. 75% of the people here are super friendly and helpful, others not so much. If you're having a bad day you don't take it out on the customer.
