For the past 3 weeks I have tried to go to this location and every time they have been closed, before 2pm. It is very irritating and suspicious. Every time I have gone and they are open there is multiple staff members. I have also accidentally bought food that was spoiled/expired on multiple occasions. Most of the workers are nice but I am very confused of how/why they are able to/getting away with being closed way before their posted hours. They don’t even put up a professional sign they write it on a piece of paper. Please fix the issues !!

This store is horribly disgusting inside. Nothing's ever put away. Most of the help is very rude. They are closed more than they are open. Pretty sad when you got a call to find out if they're open. I was told they have too much Overstock and that's why they are closed well if that's the case don't accept the Overstock send it back and open the store to sell the stock that is left in the store. That is the worst cap store I've ever seen it any of the Dollar Generals. I now travel to go to Clifton. And those pictures that are posted for the Dollar General in Gilman are not the pictures from inside at that Dollar General the pictures that are showing is a very clean store and I've never seen it look like that.

Came this morning at 10:30 a.m. with my two toddlers and didn't notice the paper closed sign on the door as I was trying to hustle my little girls inside. Poor customer service. A lady inside was snotty and rude and yelled at me WE ARE CLOSED! I hope you learn to be a little nicer

Today I went in to purchase 4 items. First off, litter at $4.75. Rang up at a dollar more. Asked clerk to put in marked price and the new manager refused to override the price. Apparently, they are in the process of raising prices. In total, 3 of my items were at least .80 over marked price. The manager was not pleasant and practically rude to me. I work at Walmart and even we honor the marked prices. I was in a pinch and decided to go. Hope this warns others to watch their receipts.

Worst DG anywhere. They do not honor their posted hours and close whenever they want when they're supposed to be open until10 pm nightly. Tonight, I ran to this location, in the rain, desperately needing toilet paper, only to find the Gilman DG closed at 8:15 pm with 2 female "employees" standing outside in front of this unkept store, smoking and one of them said, "sorry we closed at 7 tonight". A couple of weeks ago I found this store closed at 5:30 pm with all of the outside displays still sitting outside, unlocked, overnight, along with the ice chests unlocked. Horrible, untrained management and only a couple decent employees work in this store that I will not be returning to. Oh well....They're never open anyway. 🤷‍♀️

This is my favorite stop in Gilman. The new manager is on point. Under the last manager the store was always in disarray with clothes racks blocking the isle's, food that was never put away, and out of date product on the shelves that no one did anything with. But thanks to the new manager the store is running the best I've seen it run in the past 4 years. Jake, top notch bro. Keep up the good work. Give your employees a pat on the back for me.

This place is a joke. Good luck getting down an aisle. I have never been in this store and there not been stock carts sitting in almost all the aisles. If you do get lucky and find what you went in for good luck getting checked out the cashiers like to stand around on their phones.

Ehh.. it's the only DG close in the area. I shop there but if there was another closer I'd go to that one. Isles are often cluttered and the floor often has trash on it. All and all I feel like this store can do better with it's appearance. I've seen DGs cleaner and very neat.. this place needs to step it's game up or find employees that care!

The store is closed more then it's open.Have gone there every day in the last 2 weeks and the store was only open 2 of them days.Sad part this the place to shop in our townClose altogether so something else can be put there that will be openOr hire someone that knows what it means to run a business

It's a great place to shop, especially when Clearance comes, but to much stuff in islesI worked at the Gilman, Illinois one just stopped working, why It takes a team to work together to get things done, not taking care of customers and try to put items on shelf, I have to say I loved my customers and I helped them in any way I could. I am 53 years old and everyone else was at least 20 years younger and still couldn't accomplish what I had to do. Not talking bad about the employee's, bit come on get it together and make a team. Its a Dollar General, what can I say? Everything is generally a dollar. Jokes aside, this particular store is a little cramped. But the staff is friendly, its clean, and its the cheapest place to buy soda, chips, paper products, and pet supplies in the area. Its always a stop when im grocery shopping. Only thing ive ever been dissappointed by at DG is their white spray paint, its basically garbage.

Every time I go there lots of the aisles you can't get down due to carts in the way. I've not been able to buy what I needed so went elsewhere. Staff is extremely friendly.

The pictures on here are obviously from some time when they knew fire inspector was on his way. I have gone to escape rooms that are less of a puzzle to navigate. Most of the time you can't get up or down an isle let alone to the things you came to get. Once you go down an isle the only way to find your way back is to listen for the tell tale beeps of the register and follow them.

Can't get through the store since it's crowded with merchandise being put away. Things always blocking the isle and merchandise I need. Cannot navigate if a person uses a wheelchair, walker, or cane.

The store is rarely clean or has totes/racks put away.From working there previously, I can say that it's due to a serious lack of 'allowed scheduling hours.' Well, mostly. The rest is from hiring individuals that don't have a work ethic.

Every time you go to there stores(3 different locations) you can't hardly get down the isles because of all the boxes sitting in the way, boxes of stuff that belong on the empty shelves, dg you need to hire more people so they can get stuff put on the shelves where it belongs, poor management.

Disgusting place, awful..nothing on shelfs, carts everywhere, cant find anything...would rather drive to Kankakee or Champaign than to come here again
