Store is nice since reopening after the fire but miss the gift section. This Ace used to be the place to get what you needed and unique gifts, sadly it is no longer like that. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great store with great service! We proudly do as much shopping at Hood's as we can, they have a wonderful selection of just about anything! Their gift section is one of a kind with many items to choose from. The help that we receive at this location is above all others, they go above and beyond to make sure their customers are happy! My husband and I were in last week looking for Christmas lights, they were unfortunately out of the ones we wanted at the time but Amy exceeded our expectations by ordering what we wanted and having them delivered right to the store in a timely manner. Amy even went out of her way to contact me to let me know what was going on with the shipping times, something she did not have to do. We will continue to support this local gem and their wonderful owners! I can't write this review without mentioning Debi- she is also such a wonderful help and has been there forever, always asks about the family. You will not find this at the big name stores! ❤️

Just bought a battery operated lawn mower from this store. Amy was extremely helpful on the phone. The same day, Jim delivered the assembled mower to our home and went over every detail of it's operation. (Even though I'm sure we were out of their service area) Some of the best customer service I have experienced in a long, long time. And the mower works great, by the way.

I recently moved here from Chicago and I LOVE Hood's Ace Hardware in Gibson City. It is an excellent hardware store and SO much more. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the people who work there are friendly and helpful. In addition to everything you might need from a hardware store, they have a lovely selection of kitchen items, home decor, gift items and so much more than just hardware. It's obvious they take great pride in their store and they go out of their way to make sure every customer feels appreciated. Even the background music is wonderful.

Great place for personalized gifts!!!Super friendly staff as well as being very accommodating. I live 50 miles away and was able to handle most of the transaction online. I truly can't say enough good things about them. Except go and check it out.

What a great family owned Ace Hardware. If you need help with anything hardware or housewares related this is the place to go. The staff has knowledge and the products for everything from screws, caulking, paint, cleaning, tools, plumbing, electrical, and so much more. I simply came in looking for one item, and immediately an associate asked if I needed any help and guided me to the product. Nothing like a nice locally owned store with friendly helpful associates. 100% recommended store!

I like this place. It's a well-stocked small-town hardware store staffed by friendly people. I can get to the Lowes or Home Depot in "the city" in about the same amount of time, but I prefer to come over to Gibson City when I need things like actual hardware. Rope, screws, nails, paint, etc. - they have competitive prices and it's honestly easier to get a lot of stuff here than at the box stores.

Well stocked. But you REALLY need to teach your employees how read v-belt sizes based on the number ON THE BELT. I shouldn't have to bring my belt to get a replacement if I have the number on the belt. You "MEASURE" the belt when the belt has no number.Seriously.. what if I HAD no belt to measure - just the number?..Not being able to look it up without the physical belt is ignorant. How do you keep your staff ignorant?

It's great to have a more local electronics store. I still had to drive from Buckley, but totally worth it. It's strange that it is inside an Ace hardware, but they were helpful and I got everything I need.

Super store!! It's full of anything that you need from housewares to small appliances. They even have cards and gifts. All the usual tools, paint and plumbing.Wonderful nice staff!!

Brought in a weedwhacker to be fixed, 3+ weeks later still no phonecall. Actually ended up with even less of the weedwhacker than I brought in! The return process for 3 boxes of light bulbs was not ideal with the guy helping me acting as if he was mad at the world!
