The redecor gives a roomier feel. Isles do feel wider. it seems there are more items on the shelves without that messy, tacky feel. Their meat counter has yet to disappoint. The special grillers are handy in a pinch or for a quick fix for surprise dinner guests.

Moved from Geneseo to Rockford a couple yrs ago and just stopped to stock- up on meat. Really miss this store and loved all the new improvements you have made. Beautiful store!!

Management cannot be trusted to give safe meat to customers.This is a "fool me twice" situation and the managers have to be well aware of the rancid meat being given out. This all happened in the last week and a half or so.I had a pick up order and the ground beef was packaged incorrectly and one of steaks was rotten.One steak was good the other was rancid. Besides the discoloration and the sliminess of the rancid steak, the smell was an OBVIOUS give away that the steak was beyond expired.I called the store and talked to the manager, Justin, wanting a refund on the rotten steak. He said he would replace the entire order due to everything being packaged wrong anyway and giving rotten meat to customers is unacceptable. He said it was his last day there as he will be transferring to the LeClaire location in Iowa. If I wanted a refund I would have to drive all the way to Geneseo despite it being an online card purchase order. I am pretty far from Geneseo and Justin seemed to really want to take care of the situation as he said what happened was unacceptable.Justin said he would send me and email and ill be able to get the order replaced instead of us driving all the way there for a refund.. I would say that was a nice thing for fareway to do for customers, if they didn't give rotten meat again, however the e-mail never came.Days later I called to see if Justin left any info for the other managers so I can get the order because I never got the email.I talked the the manager, Dan, who had no Idea about what had happened. So there was no communication between staff.I mentioned what happened and that we had wanted a refund on the steak but Justin was going to replace the order due to the rotten meat. Dan had not talked to Justin and he told me Justin is on Vacation in Florida now. I explained the situation and instead of a refund he told me he'd honor what Justin said and redo the order although he didn't seem to happy about it. Dan was not very friendly and seemed just annoyed to be talking with me but Justin had been very nice.So this past Friday I get the order. It was packaged incorrectly again but oh well not a big deal. That is just a minor annoyance.We went to grill the steaks and guess what!? BOTH STEAKS ARE RANCID!!!!!!!!!! We have two different cuts of steak and both are rotten.The moment we unwrapped the paper we get hit with the putrid rotting smell. Worse then before making us gag immediately.The obvious deep discoloration, texture and sliminess of these steaks again, should have been a dead give away to staff that these are ROTTEN!! The smell is so bad with these steaks that I do not know how the staff are not gagging packing these.But I guess if they are just giving rotten meat to people all day they might be nose blind to the rancid smells! How else are you giving people putrid smelling meat?There is also no reason why management shouldn't be looking at the meat and making sure the meat isn't spoiling. There is NO REASON to be giving customers ROTTEN MEAT!We are scared to eat any of the ground beef we froze. Fareway's "own recipe" ground beef is ground by fareway at location. They are giving people rotten cuts of meat so I think it's a safe guess to assume they are also grinding up rotten cuts of meat for their ground beef too.I cannot trust the meat counter at this location anymore. It is NOT SAFE! Please check your meat here! You cannot trust management or employees to give you safe meat. The last thing you need is for your family to get sick because faraway doesn't care about food safety.CHECK YOUR FOOD!

This town is in desperate need of a full service grocery store. It's produce is back of the truck. Better off going to a convenience store if you want to get a couple months closer to the vine. It's meat department is inarguably the lowest standard in the Western hemisphere. They should probably rename it the fat department, their quality of meat is borderline roadkill. I'd classify the skill level of their butchers as taxidermist apprentice at best. Overall a miserable ahopping experience.

We're lucky to have this store here. It may be small, but it carries a good variety of foods. The meat department is great--don't want that large a roast? They'll cut it up for you. Employees are friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is they were so late to provide online shopping well after Covid had hit.

Just visited very clean happy to see workers cleaning & wiping down items. Made me feel safe. I only gave a 4 because I called to get a big meat bundle & they wouldn't fill it ahead of time.It was over an hour waiting. My husband is compromised & I shouldnt be in the store any longer. I been doing all my ordering online but wanted Fareway meat . It is the best

I liked it, first time ever there, only thing no canned crab. Oysters, shrimp, clams tuna of every variety, salmon etc. Just no canned crab. But they had king crab, so I can still make my dish. Meat dept always on point and so supper friendly. Even checkout

I enjoy shopping at Fareway. While the prices are higher than what I like to pay for most of my groceries, it is a nice store to shop in and the workers are very nice. I'm not always impressed with the produce section, but I absolutely love the meat counter. I always shop at Fareway for my best cuts of meat!

Staff is always very friendly. Great old-fashioned service. Their meat counter is EXCELLENT. Easily one of, if not THE best in the Quad City area. The only problem is the throngs of inconsiderate people who crowd the meat counter (just park your carts down an aisle, jeez!) and block your ability to see what the heck you want to buy, which is a testament to how good their products are, and definitely not Fareway's fault.

Nice, smaller grocery store chain. Most prices are comparable to larger chains like HyVee, but the selection is more limited (although still adequate). Fareway didn't have larger deli, seafood, and bakeries like The larger stores. They do sell alcoholic beverages. The Geneseo store has friendly staff (and lots of them), so it is easy to get assistance of you have questions. The store itself is clean and bright, and the aisles are wide enough to easily pass another cart. The butcher area has a very large selection and is also well staffed. This store is popular with locals, so there is usually quite a few other customers. Checkout staff is adequate to quickly process customers. They will take your groceries to your car for you if you want assistance.

Full service grocery store with a smile. They have great cuts of meat at a fair price and they always bring your groceries out and put them in your car. The prices in general are a tad bit higher than Walmart superstores. But, the smiles, the service and keeping business in a small town are worth it.

This Fareway is so clean and the aisles are wide. The workers are awesome. Great meat department and the checkers are so friendly. They even walk you out to your car and load the groceries ☺️☺️

I am very happy to see the employees and appreciate the help and their kindness. I would like it if larger bags of Malt O Meal - Honey Nut Scooters were stocked. And, Activia Light Yogurt were stocked in larger amounts/on sale.

Definitely not a large store and can get busy because its the best grocery store in Geneseo area without driving to the Quad cities. The highlight is for sure the meat department it would probably be just as successful if it was a butcher shop only.

Very high quality meat!! They carry some items not found in Super Walmarts. Quality fruit which beats both Save A Lot and any Walmarts. They have very good sales on pop often. When those sales go on, they will be cheaper than Walmart. They have bundle meat deals if you like to stock up or have a big family to feed. They are friendly and wheel groceries to your vehicle and load them. I think this is very well received, especially for senior citizens. Closed every Sunday due to the chains religion observation of Sunday's. They carry a specialty aisle for those with food sensitivity. They compare to prices with Hyvee. Highly recommend.

Out of the grocery stores I have been to Fareway is my top go to essential grocery store reasons why with it being a small store they pack a wide variety of products at a fair price with store discounts I love their fruit and veggie section (very well take care of) and their cereal aisle (Family/Giant size boxes) also their meat department very helpful and quick, the best part about this store is their service the cashiers unload your carts and they have a consistent helpful courtesy clerks that always ask how is your day overall 5 out 5 two thumbs up Fareway :)

Great grocery store! Fresh meats cut to order by butchers! I love going to the meat counter an DC getting fresh new ideas for premade dinner! Tonight, it happens to be apple cinnamon stuffed pork chops.The have almost everything that you need for groceries at a decent value!The store is always clean. The parcel employees (baggers) will walk out to your vehicle with you.During the Covid pandemic, a mask must be worn. They also have elderly / at risk shopping times and pick up service.Their carts are sanitized after every use.

Called ahead to see if they had Whitey's ice cream. The staff member informed me that they did. They went above and beyond by explaining on the phone how to get to it once I told them I had never been to the Geneseo Fareway. Friendly staff, quick to step in and lend a helping hand when needed.

Went in to get fresh produce. Left without any. Blueberries, every container had smashed and molding berries in them. Raspberries $ 3.99 for 6 oz. And were the same way, smashed and rotting. This is why I have been driving 20 min. into the quad cities to do my shopping. Not a first time issue. Tired of talking to managers and nothing being done. Fareway is one of the most pricey stores for produce and within 2 days it is rotten. When I have brought this to the managers attention, is always the same thing. BRING it back and they will rechage it or refund it. I do not have the time to be running back and forth for this.

Don't really like their produce- it's like it's #2at a premium price, some looks out dated,like white celery, moldy fruit, and I get that it could happen anywhere,pull it off the shelf, and not everything should be sold past sell by date. Not everyone wants 1 1/4"" steak or pork chop.
