This has a small town feel. Noticed staff smiling a lot and carefree. Food was fresh and hot. My husband loves this place from when he worked at Gates. So this was a planted visit. Yes I enjoyed the food. Should have ordered two sandwiches. Price if very easy on your pocket. They do not except credit cards of any kind. So cash or check only. Very easy lot locate from the roadside. Lots of free parking.

Awesome loose meat sandwich. Comes with ketchup, mustard, and pickles. Typically order 2 sandwiches. The soup was good. They also have a house salad. Along with hot dogs and chili. They had pie for dessert. Decor is interesting and original. Clean restrooms and counter seating.

Maid-Rite is a classic mom & pop place. Come here for good food at a cheap price. It's signature meal is loose meat hamburgers that you eat with a spoon. Now, I know that sounds weird, but trust me it is absolutely amazing. An amazing burger for $2.30, you just can't beat that. The service is phenomenal and the food gets out quick. My only complaint is that they only take cash.

Nice, cozy sandwich shop. While the Galesburg location doesn't offer fries, I was happy enough with the coleslaw which was not overly sweet, which I liked. I had a couple of Maid Rite Cheesy sandwiches and left satisfied. I also liked how I felt it a good value for the money. The staff were friendly and prompt. I'll stop in the next time I'm that way.

I liked it: good service, order was made quick with pretty good food. You won't mistake their burger for something fancy, it doesn't try to be and it shouldn't: made fast with simple fixings plus super affordable. The building/decor is older but a refreshing change from newer cookie cutter fast food chains. This place is unique, a nice local burger joint that harkens back to an older generation with a slower pace. Good place for families, try it.

Well its CASH and CARRYOUT ONLY. We came in on the motorcycle and there wasn't an area outside to eat. Its ok we sat next to the building in shade. Food was very good. The waitresses were running in and out quickly but suffecntly. Prices aren't to bad. Plus cherry cola was yummy!!!

Delicious old fashioned cheese rite. Cozy place but bring cash no cc accepted. 5 of 5 will be back. Prices are very reasonable. Lunch for 2 was $12.60. Left a $20 And it was well worth it.

Friendly people, and nice city history on the walls, with fantastic food! The place may not be as a big as you can say your local fast food place is, but it's old school, and it shows with it's layout. Only downside to some, would be they don't accept Credit/Debt cards (I think) and checks. Nothing really costs a whole lot so, it's little to worry about as long as you have a few bucks on you!

Love this place. Very nice staff, great food. Been going there since I was a child and still going! Wish it would be able to be open later at night. It would be great to get those delicious Maid-Rites in the evening.

Stopped in today for a quick bite to eat with my out-of-town relatives who had NEVER had a "Maid-Rite" if you can believe it!!! They LOVED their meal, LOVED the great old pictures on the walls and just fell in love with the cool 1950's motif of the place!! When we left the place, we were all in agreement that the meal was excellent and the prices unbelievably low.... Thanks for lunch to you sweet Maids at the Maid-Rite in Galesburg!🍴🍔

This place never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and attentive. And even if the decor is rather dated, it's always clean. If your looking for that traditional Maid-Rite food, you'll find it here.

An Iowa institution at its best, this amazingly inexpensive, yet delicious restaurant chain is something to be admired.The loose meat sandwiches are a regional food favorite; the original Maid-Rite tastes like a well done burger, but has the consistency of a sloppy joe, without the sauce. I didn't see the appeal until the first bite; it was like tiny, flavorful hamburgers in my mouth. The Cheese-Rite was even better, with a little mustard and chopped onions. The potato salad was an excellent side order to compliment the meat.The restaurant and bathroom were spotless and the service was great!

I've been going here since I was a kid. It's one of my favorite spots and definitely a gem 💎 right now is curbside and anytime I've gone they come out to take your order and are always fast and friendly. And how can I not mention the prices, which are very reasonable.This place will always be a favorite of mine 💜

I love waiting outside this place for 10 minutes, having other people who arrived after me not only get their orders taken but their food is easily twice if not three times what I’m getting and they were waited and served before I was even looked at. This is not the first occurrence of this happening. Absolutely ridiculous.
