The best best hotdogs in the state! The customer service is outstanding! I was working in Freeport for a week and wanted to try this place and I was blown away. The hotdogs are delicious, much better than in downtown Chicago. I wonder how they make them so juicy when in Chicago when you bite into a hotdog you eat the center portion but the skin still remains.. over done. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Delicious food burgers are like the ones you get at the family grill out. The salads are always fresh and crisp. The croutons on the salads I could eat by themselves they are my favorite croutons. I love the French dressing. The Italian beef with mozzarella is the best Italian beef I've had. The cheese curds are like the ones you can get at the fair I absolutely love them. And the frys are salty and delicious

I don't know HOW this place has a 4.6 star rating.Bought a gyro bowl, gyro, cheese fries, and onion rings. The Tzatziki sauce is so thin and watered down, the gyro meat is not very flavorful, cold & they give you VERY little meat. They drench the gyros in the sauce so much so you can't eat the bread due to it being so soggy. We ended up tossing our gyros after 2 bites. The only thing that was decent was the cheese fries.First time trying this place was when they were at the other location a few years back. My husband and I figured we will give them a 2nd try and NOPE we will not be giving them a 3rd. Very disappointing.Update to reply:I stated I bought a gyro bowl & gyro. I've posted a picture of it in your photos. You can see how much sauce and very little meat are on there.

A beef sandwich is always what my Wife and I get because it is a "beef" like you get on Chicago's Taylor Street. The owner keeps trying to get us to try his cheeseburger so today we did, a double cheeseburger for my Wife and I. Good grief what a killer burger! Now when we go there we will have to get a beef and burger, cut them in half so we can each have our favorite.... Beef & burger. If you have not been to 312 give it a try the food is terrific, seating is cozy and I love the Chicago blues played lightly in the background. Was making a pickup up the street and was craving a Chicago Dog! Man! Was this place a a worthy stop!!! Quick clean comfortable and great service topped off by a delicious Dog and deep fried cheese cards! It won't let me respond. I didn't think of 3 as bad, just average. So the atmosphere is just plain, nothing wrong, nothing great. The meat was great, but the bread was so soggy from it that I couldn't eat it. It completely soaked through the bread, and I'm not sure it was juice from the meat because it was soggy on the outside of the bread. I get that it's difficult with those sandwiches, but I had juice on side instead of on for that reason, but it didn't help at all.

I had lunch here on a weekday and enjoyed the experience quite thoroughly. There's plenty of parking in the back of the lot, be careful as the entrance and exits of the parking lots are one way. The entry to the place is a bit confusing. The entrance closest to the parking lot goes into a slots lounge while you have to walk further towards the main road to enter into the restaurant. There is a pathway inside between the slot lounge and restaurant so you can go in either way.Inside you order at the bar and there's a clear menu nearby. The bartender who was there when I dined was very attentive and helpful. After ordering I was given a number to place on my table for the food to be brought out. The food came out pretty fast and the order was prepared correctly.The food was good quality and I thought the beef was a good amount. There wasn't too much or too little. I asked for the Italian beef wet and it was just enough of the au jus to make it very flavorful without leaking all over the place. I believe you can also ask for it dipped or have the au jus on the side.I sat at a table but it appears there's a full bar with several tap handles for those who wish to sit at the bar and dine or drink. It seems like a good setting to have a few beers if you wish. I was working so I can't say how the bar service was, but the folks there seemed to be happy with everything.Overall I would highly recommend this place. Great spot for lunch in Freeport.

Attended a wedding that was catered. Ital. sausage, ital. beef, sweet peppers; it was all really good.So we tried their on-line ordering, it was ready by the time we drove there! And was just as delicious! Decent pricing too. But....Caution: to go orders are just wrapped in multiple pcs of paper wrappers and the juice leaks thru, esp if order wet or dipped. The whole bag was a mess! Bottom was wet, but luckily it held til we got it home. Hopefully they fig out a better way.But, not enough of a prob to keep us away, we'll be back!

3/5/2020Honestly,The appearance of the establishment was nice, cozy, and clean. Customer service was decent, being it was my husband and I first visit we took a longer time searching the menu to finally decide that an Italian beef was the choice. I honestly, appreciate the fact that we was not rushed.After receiving the food I quickly noticed the cheese for the fries were horrible! The cheese tasted like imitation cheddar melted cheese. We bought it so we tried using it to dip our thinly cut fries BUT we ended up having to throw it in the garbage because it was so nasty. As far as the sandwiches.. we were absolutely let down! I’m from Chicago and believe me that Italian beef with “sweet peppers and mozzarella” was nothing close to “312” aka “Chicago style”. From looking at the photos you can see the cheese was shredded and not melted. The meat was bland and just tasteless.Overall, I do wish that we passed this place up because our meal was not necessarily cheap and most of it went inside the trash. I wish places wouldn’t Imply “Chicago style” meals because most of the time it should only read, “our style” or “Freeport style” (my honest opinion as usual).That’s my response to the store owner reply.

I'm originally from the Chicago area and this is about as close as it can get to what I'm used to.I'm more of a fan of the large fresh pressed fries but the fries offered do the trick.I've only ever ordered the Italian beef or Italian beef/sausage combo but they both have been delicious.I prefer a bit more of a hefty sandwich for the prices they charge but I don't frequent them as much as I'd like for that to make much of a huge difference.The bread they use for the beefs doesn't seem to be what I'm used to (Turano, Gonella) but it holds up well enough.The entrance to the joint is a little tricky to see and when you see it hopefully someone aint tailing you to close when you turn in.Inside is immaculate and manicured. VERY clean place. Slots in the back and a bar upfront with good enough seating and lighting.There's also a drive thru.They get my cash everytime I'm in town.
