Your pets are in the best hands & care of Dr Nieman & his staff. I highly recommend this animal hospital.I arrived in Shiloh when I PCS’d to Scott AFB Oct 2020. After searching through multiple local vets, I chose Freeburg Animal Hospital because of the caring & kind staff, availability in scheduling on short notice, and Dr Nieman’s compassionate heart. My dog has always been leery around men but the good doctor’s baby-talk made her feel comfortable & allowed him to check her. (Apparently dogs really like this.) So we have been coming here from the start.After 13 years by my side, my sweet Rosie passed away on Friday, 13 Jan 2022. We were lucky to have an attentive staff who made her comfortable before her final moments. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Absolutely love them, everyone is so patient with my baby girl. She is going through a difficult situation and me being a worry wart they have been great with all my questions and helping her remain calm where some other places she has gone she has always had to wear a muzzle she goes in happy and come out happy even in unpleasant situations. So far this has been a great fit and usually she has issues with men and she loves her veterinarian now

I would recommend this vet to family and friends. I have taken my 2 dogs to this vet for almost a year now. The office is friendly, polite, and quick to accommodate appointments. The vet techs are able to answer most questions and kept us up to date when our dogs had surgery. Dr Nieman is very patient and knowledgeable. We also boarded our dogs there while we were on vacation. I never had any concerns about their well being. We could call anytime and we’re updated. When we picked them up, they acted like they wanted to stay!

We've been taking our dogs to Dr. Niemann for many years now. He takes his time with our dogs and always thoroughly explains any condition our dog(s) may have. He also takes the time to answer questions. Highly recommend Dr. Niemann!

First time here and was very impressed. Had to have our cat put to sleep. Dr. was very considerate and seems to genuinely care for the animals. He could have came in and gave the shot and walked out. He saw my son was having a hard time and held our cat and talked to him. It helped my son say goodbye.Also unexpectedly received a sympathy card signed by the Dr. and the staff.Never had to have a pet put to sleep. He made it as good as it could have been. I will bring my pets here from now on. Couldn't be more impressed.

There’s not enough stars to give this office. Been taking dogs here for about a year and when my cat developed a blockage had to take him to emergency vet to unblock and it happened again and took him to freeburg animal clinic. The doc and the whole staff is extremely passionate and loves your fur babies just as much as you do. They broke down everything that needs to be done and explained ways to help prevent bladder blockage. I know I can trust the team with the love and care they give my babies.

Dr. Niemann has a great heart, understanding and makes you feel as if your pet is his and will do everything to make them better.Today took my little girl in, she was under the weather for the last couple of days; turns out she has a slight fever. With the medicine have gave her I'm sure she will be back to herself in no time.

I absolutely love this practice! Dr. Niemann is amazing and treats you like family. He has helped me through a very difficult time when we had to put our dog to sleep, and he’s the only doctor I trust with our new puppy. He’s patient and kind! Most compassionate vet ever!!! We recently moved to Freeburg and sadly our dear cat of 17 years fell ill. Dr. Niemann did absolutely everything he could to save our dear kitty. Sadly, it was just the end, but Dr. Niemann’s compassion, effort, patience, and tender love for our cat gave us such peace and comfort during the difficult decision to let him pass. I HIGHLY recommend Freeburg Animal Hospital, Dr. Neumann and his staff!

Doc Niemann has treated our cats for years, always has a smile and treats us like family. Knows each of them like they was his. I will never take my kids any place other the docs. He explains everything so we can understand it and always goes the extra mile to make sure they get the best care. In my 40 years best vet ever.

I had an appointment for my dogs teeth cleaning. Dropped my dog off at 7:45AM. They said they would call me back. They never did. I called them multiple times throughout the day for a status update. It’s just a voicemail box that’s always full. It wasn’t until 4:00PM until I got ahold of someone. They gave me the news they couldn’t do the cleaning due to the vet being sick. I never got a courtesy phone call during the day saying they couldn’t provide service. As the customer, I had to follow up.My dog didn’t eat at all the entire day until he got home, since he was told he should go to his appointment on an empty stomach. He came home VERY thirsty. I don’t recommend this clinic to anyone until they change their ways. It seems they’re under-staffed. Something is wrong here. I’m very upset still.

Words cannot describe how thankful I am for the compassion and support of Dr. Nieman and his staff. We started going two months ago for our 11 year old St Bernard - she had cancer and bad arthritis in her back legs. My family and I really appreciated the check in phone calls from both the vet and the staff. When we finally had to put our dog to sleep, Dr. Nieman made the whole experience peaceful for us and our dog. I can really tell he loves animals and I am just so blessed we found him to help take care of our pup in her final months. If we have any more pups in the future, we will definitely come back. Thank you Dr. Nieman and staff.

Dr Neiman (sp?) Was amazing in waiting after hours for me. Patient with the dog I had in my care, and then smoothly handled the owner and breeder. Were i to come to freeburg or ots surrounding area I would use him for my own pets. Thank you and to your kennel worker Olivia I think was her name!

On August 3rd I made reservations to board my dog for approximately 10 days beginning on Saturday August 31st. On August 30th received an email to confirm my reservation for the upcoming appointment. I confirm the appointment via the email. The next day I go to drop my dog off and they are closed. I guess they decided to close for the holiday weekend without notifying me they were going to be closed (and maybe others)I tried calling that Saturday and of course there was no answer. I left a message on the answering machine telling them who I was and where I was and what I was trying to do I also let her know it was not very happy about the fact that now I have a dog I have to find somewhere else to go with while I'm on vacation. This was not going to be the first time I boarded my dog here and it is also my regular vet. To this point nearly a week later I've received no phone call to explain what happened or to even apologize. Anybody know any good vets....
