Wonderful place for the whole family. I have gone there since I was young to buy and look at bunnies etc.. they have a big old tortoise and reptiles... you can visit with a dog you'd like to inquire about purchasing.. birds.. not to mention beautiful clothing and home decor! They also host reptile and outdoor events!

Beautiful greenhouse and really helpful staff. Quality annuals and perennials already starting to fill the greenhouses and they tell me more coming over the next few weeks as the season kicks into gear. Highly recommend!! Worth a trip just to visit the greenhouses!

Bella was super helpful! Looking for a new houseplant is no easy task! I'm starting to get more into plants and she was showing me some more advance plants so I can step up my game. She showed me around the greenhouse which was in IMMACULATE condition by the way!I left home with a new plant buddy and couldn't be happier! If I could leave more than 5 stars I would! 10/10 service. This is my HAPPY place, it’s a beautiful store with tons of inventory everywhere you look. This is a 40 min drive from my home but worth it every time. Any plant and gardening lover would be very happy here.

Very nice.....I'm frequent visitor (mostly to Indiana location), but today was checking their other location on LaGrange to check on a Henri Fountain.They look pretty close to being quite ready for the start of spring business.Lots and lots of annuals, shrubs, tropicals, and getting more & more perennials every day. Some are still inside their greenhouse to protect from possible low temps soon.I like their neat and larger tropical display way at the back of the main greenhouse.....nice, shoppable display.....GOOD JOB.They're still too expensive for Rhododendrons....although they are pretty large......$99 - -$150. I can get slightly smaller but still very nice Nova Zembla or Roseum Elligans for $45 @ Menard's.OVERALL THOUGH, VERY NICE PRESENTATION!

This is the place to go for great customer service and superior products, they have a massive selection of vegetables ,flowers ,trees ,shrubs ,water plants, rocks indoor plants , patio furniture,umbrellas, outdoor lighting,pet services,dog food,cat food ,pet toys ,grooming, they sell fish and all related products. They have the best Christmas trees you can find . They are located in Frankfort,on la grange rd between I-80 and rt 30 , plenty of parking available also lots of good places to get 🍺 drinks and food 🍱 nearby , if you haven’t been here come check this place out you won’t be disappointed! Very nice nursery and pet adoption store. So many great flowers to choose from. Very nice clearance area toward the back of the store. Very clean and has a lot of meat original foods to choose from and sodas also!

I’ve always loved Alsip Nursery, and I love it even more now. Today we went to pick out our first real Christmas Tree. We were helped by Jonathon and he was amazing. He was patient answering our questions, even if we grabbed him a few times while he was already busy. He made the process so ridiculously easy. Thanks Jonathon!

Better than most garden centers within a 15 mile radius. I have been a frequent customer for many years. The plants are healthy. The selection is good for common plants and they have some unusual ones also. The aisles are clean, though can feel cramped when the store is busy. They always have plenty of check-out lanes open with associates who are knowledgeable, and this makes Alsip Home & Nursery a much better choice that most big box retailers. I think they should have a sign for directing customers to the outdoor pickup area (for some of the larger items). And I wish they had a better selection of unusual spring flowers. If you’re looking for a vast selection of normal stuff, this is a great place to buy your plants.

Yesterday..the reptile show … shame on you poor kids couldn’t see all those unnecessary chairs ! You had plenty of space . I have taken my grandkids to plenty of the reptile shows none of them such a cluster as that show .. people were leaving kids couldn’t see anything. Very poor planning.

I’ve been visiting Rocky, the African Grey, for a few months now. He’s a wonderful bird with several phrases and a sign posted about how he may not speak while you’re near his cage, but will shout out phrases when you start to walk away. I have birds at home and am familiar with their body language, which I believe to be the reason he WILL talk to me at his cage and even shout, “come back!” every time I start to walk away. Throughout these visits I’ve grown attached, so you can imagine my frustration when on my last visit (today 11/9) I was not approached by a single employee to answer any questions about this gorgeous bird. After spending nearly 45 minutes next to his cage talking to him, I decided to leave and call for answers on his age, price, how long he’s been there, ect. ; only to be told he is not for sale and he is their managers bird. You would think a bird that is prominently displayed on their sales floor with a sign posted next to him with all his quirks would include that he is not for sale and is a “store bird”. This lack of vital information has me wanting to return all the products I just purchased. Be upfront with your customers. Or at least encourage your staff to inform them. I am sure the lack of him being for sale is why I was not approached in the first place, so I no longer fault the employee for ignoring me. However, the manager who owns this bird should be ashamed for misleading people and creative an environment where their customers feel ignored.

Huge Home & Nursery plenty of garden stuff like concrete statuary, waterfalls, wind chimes,home decor and all kinds of this and that's for small pets and animals there's even a small pet grooming shop. Prices are far and there's plenty of parking. They also have a very large selection of plants and trees as well as flowers of all kinds. Be ready to fill up your cart!

It has been years since I visited and now I remember why. I walked in without grabbing a cart thinking I would be okay. Nope. 5 minutes later I was filling it. The plants are healthy, the atmosphere is soothing and the gentleman that helped me in regards to the ever so popular Monstera Albo was very informative. My wallet will not appreciate it but I'll be going back soon!

I love going through this wonderland of a store. It covers so many unique purchases as well as animal adoptions. What a great place to find unique gifts for holidays. The store is always clean with clearly marked prices. Bathrooms are modern and clean. The staff are pretty nice but not overly helpful, some stores are and that can be annoying. But at Alsip they are just helpful enough where you're not scared off. I know many people who have fun shopping here. Highly recommend.

Well stocked Nursery huge variety a local treasure people can come from far and near to get great plants. They had six and seven foot Arborvitae plants and even smaller ones in a great variety even late in the month of June friendly service helps you load your vehicle if need be and plenty of yard and Landscaping things for the homeowner from pots decorations pet supplies trellises and a huge variety of plants annuals and perennials so check them out

First time here and it is amazing. The place is huge you can get anything here indoor plants outdoor plants trees stuff for maintaining your lawn water fountains even can buy pets here believe it or not. The staff is all very friendly and they don't bother you like other stores they let you look. Prices are a little expensive but can't complain.

The cashier was SO RUDE! We went on Mother's day to pick up plants for the garden. They were open until 6 and we were checking out at 5:30 but the cashier was acting like I was keeping her from closing. She also kept "recounting" how many plants I had. She never offered me a tray for the 18 plants I had and when I went back in and asked a different person for a tray, she yelled over that she asked me if I needed one. She never did! I even had to ask for a bag or liner for my car!Also, they did not have many garden vegetables - no sweet 100 tomato plants, no early girl tomato plants, no lavender, no sage. Kind of disappointing. Should have just left then but really wanted to plant my garden.

Needed a short hose for a dehumidifier in my parents basement, Home Depot up the road did not have anything close to that! Alsip did! It was only about 6 bucks too! Glad they are still in business after all these years

I have to say I am extremely disappointed in the customer service at Alsip. We were looking forward to Alsip being our new go-to nursery but unfortunately that will not be the case.We purchased a large indoor tree on 3/26 (our first plant from Alsip), took it home and re-potted it. Within 2 days there was white fungus covering the leaves that is not on any of our numerous house plants.I called Alsip and was told I need to speak to a specific manager. Every time I have called since, I have been told she is either off and/or just walked away. Furthermore, every time I call I am passed around from 3-4 employees, none of which have any idea why I was transferred to them.We were simply requesting some sort of credit, even partial, and offered to return to the plant to the store. We also offered to send pictures of the leaves. I finally spoke with someone today (after numerous phone calls) and he informed me there is nothing they can do, no promises to be made on a credit, but that we would have to remove the LARGE tree from its pot, put it in a plastic bag, bring it back to the store and simply "see what they say".UPDATE: I messaged through FB messenger on Monday and did not receive a response. Very disappointed that I no longer look forward to shopping here.

I was just here this past weekend, I was so upset to see the horrible quality of plants/ care of plants in the nursery. Even the rare expensive plants were all dying and I asked if they ever discount them and they said no. Nobody would pay full price for a $300 half dead plant. What a waste of plant life. I used to love alsip nursery but I probably won’t be shopping here anymore. They need educated employees so they can properly take care of their plants. This saddens me and I hope they can make a change.

I have been ordering my tomato plants from this location for the last three years. They are shipped to me in Ohio and every year my plants have been beautiful. This year there was some confusion with the shipping but I spoke with Ashley Johnson and she was fantastic to work with. She was she Extremely helpful ,professional and friendly and made the experience seamless for me! I would recommend these plants and the customer service that I received to anyone. I will continue to order my tomato plants from here in the future

Took a chance, ordered a Johanna Parker cookie jar. It was packed very well, not broke, but had painting defects that I knew should not be there! I had a problem with the shipping after the tracking number was issued, felt it sat somewhere too long. After having to call several times to get resolution to find out what was going on and where is was? Most all the employees I spoke with would cut you short and half listen to what you needed. Finally, after 6 days, received item. Still needed to resolve the issues-was told I needed Sam and that she was off 2 days?Today is November 2, still no call from them. I called, spoke to Sam, she requested pictures like i was not being truthful. She needs a customer service class, very rude and unprofessional.She tried to say paint looked fine and no credit to charge card for anything!!! I'm the customer, right???She totally worked against me instead of for me!!!You don't argue with a customer, you help resolve the issues!! This was such a small thing to handle and she could not!!

Place is huge and has it all. Only problem is they are way overpriced. Picked up some prairie grass for $42/pot. Went to Home Depot and found the same exact grass for $9/pot. RETURNED. SAD

This place has been around since the early 70s I’m guessing. I think coming out to this location for years. They have an incredible greenhouse during the summer spring time as well as gifts elections for anybody outdoor furniture anything you can think of for all pets as well as anything you can think of for growing. Of course their prices are bit high at times but they will work with you if they have the ability too. The store is truly a gem of the early beginnings of this area. I would love to keep them in business forever. Get in here.
