Unless really desperate, this is a store to stay from. Prices could be considerably higher than other stores unless you have the time and patience to play their coupon games. For instance, I happened to pick up some cherries shown as $2.99/lb. But when I checked later, they actually charged me $5.99/lb because I didn’t clip some coupon online. That is just one example. So like I said, unless you have the time to waste playing their coupon games, you could really lose money. To add insult to injury, feel like many of their staff have some biased attitude if you are not white. Giving you dirty looks and extra scrutiny.

After running in and paying for a bite to eat from the deli department for lunch at work, the manager Kathleen Murphy chased me out to my car making accusations of theft and taking pictures of me and my car while threatening to call the police. I’m new to the area and can not believe the disturbing level of ignorance, self entitlement, and lack of respect towards customers that this woman has. Harassment from employees and wild allegations is not a good look for a company like Albertsons/Jewel/Osco. I recommend to stay away from this establishment in fox river grove. There is no doubt in my mind that the management does this to customers every day. Do yourself a favor and just don’t shop at this location.

I want to share a very positive experience from an employee that went above and beyond this past weekend:I was uncertain of what type of flower arrangements would be best for a celebration of life service for a loved one. The florist, Becky was extremely kind and sympathetic. Becky provided superior customer service from start to finish; she guided us through the process and asked questions we haven’t thought of. Extra flowers were needed so she contacted the supplier immediately. When picking up the order, we were in awe; the arrangements were extremely beautiful and thoughtfully crafted.Becky’s expertise and customer service made the process seamless for us and am extremely thankful for her assistance.

I don't know how to add a 2nd review so I'm deleting my previous review about a bad experience I had. Everyone has bad days but the lady I was referring to in the first review was rude on several visits.Since that review I've come to learn that Jewel has the most affordable eggs and milk of anywhere I've been shopping.Also I wanted to add that the last few times I've been the staff have been friendly and kind and even made me leave laughing with a smile on my face. Good job Jewel employees! Keep up the good work!

Always enjoy shopping at Jewel in FRG. The store layout is easy to navigate so you can get in and out quickly if only going for an item or two. Prices are reasonable and are often cheaper than the warehouse stores when going for Milk and some produce. If you live in FRG you cannot beat the convenience and support of the community. Oh, and while you are there be sure to get some fried chicken or chicken tenders from the deli area, always fantastic!

I'm disappointed to see that this Jewel-Osco in Fox River Grove, IL doesn't follow make or social distancing requirements. I watched multiple patrons enter the store without masks and management didn't address the issue even when I brought it up to the cashier. I will be reporting this store to the McHenry country department of health.

Would normally never leave a review for a grocery store but had to for this Jewel. Have to give props to the store for being so fully stocked, organized, clean, and great sales during the Thanksgiving craziness. To top it off staff are always happy to help and always have a great attitude! I live in the area so this is my home Jewel, keep up the great work and thank you for working so hard during these difficult times!

This is a really nice location, and very well kept. I always enjoy visiting this Jewel. There's also a Starbucks inside, so you can always grab a coffee for your grocery trip!

Always use this jewel for weekly/daily grocery shopping. Sales are good, staff is friendly and accommodating. Almost always the cleanest store in the area. Staff works to face and restore shelves on a routine basis.The managers are also amazing people.

Guy behind deli counter was incredibly rude, didn’t greet me, not informative, didn’t give me what I asked for. Will not be returning. Didn’t even have grilled chicken even though it says grilled chicken meal. Told me to go grab an entire chicken from hot warmer because he’s “not making any”

Employees super friendly and helpful.Always get what I came for, and shop there almost daily. See Mitch for an awesome cut of meat, enjoy fresh deli sliced quality Vienna products and watch Rob stack slices perfectly. Select yummy cakes from bakery, and friendly cashiers like Jarley, Erin, Destiny, Natasha and Brandy. Get assistance loading car from a real gentleman like Brian. Thanks to great managers like Julie who seeks resolution and not fault you can resolve most issues if you have one. Enjoy a well stocked, clean, and caring shopping experience. While you shop don't forget a large Starbucks Coffee made to order by Laurie. Great people, great service, great products, thanks so much for keeping this food store in our community!! My wife and I shop there almost daily.

The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially to the wheelchair bound. Safe, cheerful atmosphere. You can get real cheese here, not just "processed cheese food" laced with cottonseed oil. The salad bar and hot food bars are handy to grab a quick lunch when you are on the go. Please get rid of the Styrofoam containers and get wax paper bags in the bakery department.

This location in getting very expensive. They keep discontinuing items all the time. My biggest complaint is the hot bar and ready to eat food. This food is sitting out all day under heat lamps. If you go after lunch the food is so discolored, burnt, dry, cracked and totally inedible. It's not cheap either so you think they would be a bit more respectful to the customers. I don't think they ever change the water under the trays at the hot bar. I have seen the bar without the food trays and water uncovered many times, and It looks like sewer water and the basin is all corroded. I even chipped a tooth on a chicken tender because the breading was so hard. This is not a one time issue. This is every day. I will report to the Village and County.

I love the people who work here, unfortunately there are several things that need improvement with this store. First the produce is awful! I always get rotten fruit and fruit flies with my purchases. They do not carry the same products that other Jewels carry ( Coffee Mate Creamer/ Coconut Cream and Beyond Burgers and Birch Benders Protein Waffles. I can go to the Cary story or the Barrington Jewel and find these products. The corporate office needs to get with it with and get the produce where it needs to be and carry the products that customers request. Again the worker are amazing, unfortunately Jewel need to figure stuff out for this store.

Love this Jewel and remember back when it was a Dominicks. It's staffed well and food is generally in stock. Went on Sunday morning and was disappointed that the manager was okay with having customers in without face masks (currently an IL requirement).

I go out of my way to go to this Jewel! I have one throwing distance from my house, this one is much more well maintained and extremely clean. Not to mention the staff is on another level in comparison. You really can't say much more. I never understood what the difference is between same places that are so incredibly close..

The taller female cashier with dark skin and long black hair extensions gave me a blank recepit upon check out....my fault for not looking before I got home but that's still pretty ridiculous...now there's not much I can even do about it except walk in and present a blank paper. Very unprofessional...it wasn't even that busy. I overheard the lady in front of me even correct her on yet another mistake she was making with that transaction.

I ordered a cake for my parents 60th anniversary and when l picked it up the bakery did not have my order, the manager Brian l think, hand delivered the cake to my house and did not accept my offer to pay for it.! That’s great customer service!!! I truly appreciate that and will continue to shop there.

My only complaint about this business is the produce. Sometimes it's not the best and may not look or feel ripe or fresh however, this store has incredible selection and inventory of different groceries. It's can he overwhelming this is when their friendly and well trained staff will help you locate something that you are looking for
