Went in needed a few things and the employee who helped me was very friendly. She located what I needed quickly. The cashier was training a new hire but it did not negatively affect my checkout. Overall they had what I needed, I got it quickly, and had a smooth transaction.

My husband who is 60yrs old and disabled went in for some Velcro, on 1/8/2023 at 4pm. This was his experience-looked around could not find it, asked a young man working there where it was, the young man did not understand what he was asking for, and asked what are you trying to do. This went on for awhile, my husband walked away out of frustration, granted he did mutter under his breath the guy was useless, but what followed was over the top. The young man proceeds to tell my husband he is being abusive, and he needs to leave before he calls the cops, my husband walks away and finds the Velcro, meanwhile this guy is following him around the store, invades his space, takes out his cell to call the cops, and starts being verbally abusive to my husband, insisting on an apology. Two wrongs dont make a right, but the behavior of the clerk was way out of order. Everyone talks about supporting local business, well this local business lost a customer and Home Depot, and Amazon gained one. Nonsense like this is the reason people shop online.

our manager HOPE , Is best of the best. She Is not worried to get her hands a bit dirty. She is very proactive and a good listener. She only hires the very best of staff.. There is always someone on duty that can help this old retired guy ORG Work through a plumbing problem or electrical for whatever. The expertise and Support in shop is excellent.¿ A challenge for you ? When you walk in the door try to catch Karan without her smile on. Suggestion your going to have to make a million trips to succeed..

The line to check out is unclear.At 10:30 am on December 2, 2021, I stood in line for 5 minutes. When my turn to check out came, some snotty lady came from behind a tall gondola of product. The cashier told me that I was standing in the wrong place. I SURE WAS! I should have been standing in line at Lowe's. I politely set my purchases down and left the store without buying anything. Lost a $200.00+ sale.After over 50 years of retail management experience, I know the effort that goes into selection a good store location, the million dollars to build, hundreds of thousands in inventory and advertising expense to draw customers to the store. When it all comes together and you have a customer with product in one hand and cash in the other, THE ONE THING YOU NEED TO BE GOOD AT IS TAKING MONEY FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO GIVE IT TO YOU!

For the first time in 40+ years, the guy didn't even try to help me. Couldn't be bothered. I feel truly crushed. So much for ACE is the place with the helpful hardware folks. Not anymore at Leader ACE in Fox River Grove.I went to Ziegler's ACE Hardware in Cary and got wonderful customer service. I bought top of the line there.

I was greeted by a very friendly associate. I found two products on their website that I was extremely interested in. Of course they didn't carry them at all (store or website). It was very disappointing and a complete waste of my time. They need to update their website on a regular basis.

My previous review was for when it was under previous management. Since the take over things have gone down hill. Prices seem even more ridiculous than ever. The fact that they sell tools that offer lifetime warranties but refuse to warranty them like every other ACE does since they became the primary seller of the tools was the last straw for me.Old school hardware store, with that true hardware store smell, and an assortment of rare parts that you won't find at your big box stores,and onsite services such as glass cutting and screen repairs. Prices are more expensive than the big box, but that is to be expected, for convenience. (recently changed owners so we'll see if the charm stays)

Only one employee at 4p with a long line while the only store associate was helping me. The gentlemen was very helpful but there were too many other ppl waiting for help when we got back to the front of the store n I learned he was the only associate working. C'mon Management this is a busy time that ppl stop.

Not linked to Ace inventory system on-line. Items that are supposed to be in stock are not. Rude management (Rodrigo) who claims that is the ACE system - not ours... Well, the name above the door is still Ace. If it is not your fault, say 'sorry' in a nice way vs snarling it at the customer.
