I have bought 9 pets from Something Fishy, get all of their supplies from here, and always given the best customer service. I constantly have good laughs with all of the employees every time. They even ask me every time I come in if I’m getting a new pet yet lol that’s how well they remember their customers. If they don’t have an item, they help look online and will have it shipped to their store for you. Awesome variety of pets to choose from!

The only pet store we buy from. The animals and products both are high quality. They live a long time if you care for them. As opposed to other big box stores where our pets would not live after a couple weeks. The staff is very knowledgeable too! Below was our most recent purchase. Love this store!

We have been coming here for years for our fish, aquariums, and food ECT. The owner and staff are knowledgeable and there to answer all of our questions. We have a fresh water tank and just started a salt water tank. We love coming here!

Love this place! From the great people to the near small animal zoo! No touchy but great to see so many varieties of creatures! Great place to take the kiddos, providing you remain strong! It's my hometown pet store but I drive 30 min to get there!!

I had to Google the phone number for Something Fishy Because I had lost my phone I’m glad I did because I came across a negative post that was recently given to Pet Store.. First of all the bird that you were speaking of at the bottom of the cage belongs to me his name is Spanky, and he prefers Being in the bottom of his cage unless he’s out of the cage.. This is the most amazing Pet Store I have ever dealt with my bird is there because they are babysitting him while I’m out of town which they have done many times for as long as two months . If they were anything perfect my parrot would not be there.. Miss Sharon You obviously know nothing about birds because if you came into my home, you would think I’m a complete slob because I need to dust a couple times a week because of one bird and they have several. Did you bother asking anybody why the birds were huddled together ?? Trust me, that place is warm. Anybody with common sense would realize that if the windows were a little icy it’s because it’s so hot and humid in the store and it was very cold outside. It’s common sense. I would never bring my parrot anywhere else. Not many people can handle Spanky However, several years ago I brought him there to have his wings clipped at the most reasonable price I have ever seen. Previously when I had his wings clipped He was sedated, which I don’t feel is very safe, but not at this establishment in fact, the Owner picked my bird up, kissed him on his beak, handled him as if he had Now been the owner for the last 20 years not me. I will not let anybody else touch my bird, except the owner of this establishment. I purchase all of Spanky‘s food from here because it is so reasonably priced. Maybe Miss Sharon, you were having a bad day isn’t it ironic that you are the only bad review?

I visited this store on Thursday, January 18, 2023.....the store smelled awful upon walking in. The entire store needs a good cleaning. The store was too cold for the customers with winter coats on, they have tropical birds, reptiles and fish...it was not warm enough for any of the critters they are trying to sell. It's very depressing, the birds were huddled together or nearly laying down in the bottom of the cages. It's so sad to see these animals is such horrible conditions. This store should be closed down.

Ive been going too Something fishy pets for a good 4 months now, I'd definitely say they are well rounded in the field. Their employees are always ready to help out an answer some questions as best as they can, always wanting a customer to leave more then content with their visit. Pricing is just right. All in all a good pet shop to go too.

I wandered in here for no specific reason but I left genuinely impressed/ happy. The staff was extremely friendly and answered any question it had, no matter how random it was ! and you can tell the animals are well taken care of :) I forsure will be back and I’m forsure purchasing my next bird from here!

I just started my 210 gallon saltwater tank with the help of “Captain Ron”. Ron happens to be the owner. The man has been in the business as long as I have been alive, or pretty close to it.I have also worked with Wendy who is a plethora of knowledge as well. However, Ron is the Neptune of the aquatic world. It just so happens when I stop in I see them mostly so it’s not to say the other employees are not helpful. They most certainly are,in addition polite and very generous with their time. If you’re spending thousands to build an entire aquatic, reptile system or perhaps spend ten dollars on a dog toy this is the place to go for customer service and knowledge. It doesn’t matter, it’s a “local” owned shop, not a big box. Support a local or semi local shop where the employees have the knowledge and concern for their customers.I am still in the building stages. Well I guess I am finally building. Ron and his crew installed my tank and set up. I am learning on my own from Ron, his crew, and my own research of course. I just started to add my starter fish.Bottom line for this review is simple. You want knowledge and great staff. This is the place to go. I most certainly recommend them. If I remember to do so I will post some photos in the future. Best wishes if you plan to pursue an aquatic hobby as I have.One last note: Ron/Wendy…if you see this it’s Tom, since I don’t expect you to know the screen name but I know you are well aware of my tank.I travel roughly 45 min to 1 hour to get there and deal exclusively with them.

Their establishment is poorly taken care of. My husband and I have came here several times, and sadly, all those times the animals had dirty moldy dishes that obviously have never been scrubed, just refilled over and over again. You can tell. The Reptiles there are poorly taken care of. It's just not a welcoming clean establishment walking in. The very back room open to the public eye, you can clearly see filthy cages just sitting there. They use to hold sick animals in that area. It was soo sad to see. Hopefully it's changed but still. How gross. This place has really gone downhill. Not to mention always was promised new animals to see (new arrivals) that never did come to the store. Always walked in trying to see them over the months and years with the family and still nothing.

Went here with my family, and my daughter fell in love with the parrot. I'm into fish. They have a decent selection of salt and fresh water fish. Great place to stop by and get some supplies, and look around.

Very very happy with my 1st visit! Upon entering I was greated by the manager, Amanda, who was already assisting customers. Simple "hello how is it going, good you" as I went towards the fish section (not much more is needed). I searched for some corydoras for a little until I heard someone behind me offer help, a young little guy just helping out on his days off of school because he likes fish, Im so sorry I forgot your name on the way home :( Anyway he was knowledgeable on the subject, edjucated me on some cool chilids (which were aggrssive and which werent) and made my time there while I waited alot more enjoyable. Not much later Amanda had finished up and was able to help me, we talked corys for a minute and just like that I was rung out and had gotten 10/10 service and some cool HEALTHY fish. They had a simple rewards program. Only required my first and last name, I forgot to ask what It got me but at this point the service was good enough for me to come back. If you support local mom n pop shops this is your place in Fox Lake. Thanks Amanda and the crew, I'll see you soon.

Absolutely great! I came in and purchased a fish and decided that I wanted another one. I returned one day and saw they had no more of the fish I wanted. I talked to the manager and he said he would order some more for me. Came back about a week later and not only did they order more of the fish but they ordered the most beautiful fish! Such vibrant colors and in great conditions. You can tell that the owner and workers really care about what they have in their store. If I could go higher than 5 stars I would. Love this place.

Went and bought a little female ferret on 9/17 right before closing. Met Wendy and another woman who were just very nice and wonderful people to do business with. Very very kind patient and friendly. I went home with a female that got along great with my other 2. If purchasing a new ferret and have at home too, it's best to bring your furbabies with you when looking to be sure you have one to get along with your family. I have always taken more time than this and I was drawn to my new daughter from the moment I saw her. Yes it has been less than 24 hours, but she has captured all of our hearts. Not just my roommates and myself, but my dog too. He just loves her as much as we do. One roommate that wasn't there to look with us actually fell in love with her immediately and even named her which still leaves me speechless lol. I highly, highly recommend this place just wonderful people and animals ❤️.

I love this place! Staff is phenomenal and am able to find items chain pet stores do not carry. Most items are competitively priced and the ones that are higher the standard of quality is miles ahead of comparable items. Above all the employees are genuinely warm and inviting no plastic smiles you see at big box stores.

They've been around for decades been going there since 2002 the owner is very knowledgeable and staff is friendly, a wide and healthy selection of fish and reptiles and birds , great pet store!! I highly recommend for all pet owners

The staff here is personable and friendly. They are also knowledgeable about the more exotic animals they have in store. They have some of the best prices for feeder insects and feeder rodents I have found in the area. I also love the selection of live aquarium plants and coral... What sets them above the other pet stores is that they rescue reptiles when they can. I know someone who had surrendered their family member's snake to them when they couldn't care for it any longer. I would definitely recommend this pet store for all your pet needs!

Very attentive and knowledgeable staff. I liked how the owner even netted and bagged my fish for me (he's doing great by the way!) He set a friendly atmosphere and suggested this kitty litter that is AWESOME and at a very good price! What sets this place apart is ALL the animals were clean and happy. Unlike other pet stores where I always find sick fish, I walked around for awhile and could not see any here at something fishy. You gained a happy customer and I tell everyone about you. Keep up the good work guys!!

I moved into the area and happened across this pet store. I like the fact that they do have salt water fish as I have been a saltwater aquarist for over 30 years. The fish inventory is pretty good. Prices are pretty good as well. Not sure if they run copper in the water or not. But I never chance it when I transfer fish into my tanks. The owner is a nice guy. Could use more knowledgeable help! Store is on the messy side as well as the fish tanks. It gets pretty busy at times and your left walking around waiting for help. Hard to find good saltwater fish stores around these parts. So at least they are still in business. Would’ve given them 5 stars if they just had the place looking a little nicer with more knowledgeable help.
