Amanda and Amy are amazing! They are both very nice and helpful...especially if you have a complaint about a dog that's loose somewhere and needs picked up, and if someone isn't following the towns' ordinance. They really know their stuff!! They know how to treat the animals that are housed there and the public that comes in to look around. I have had nothing but great interactions with them every time I've been in there. Thank you guys for doing such a great job!!!

I adopted a little abused dog. Lacey and Karen were supportive of me coming up for visits before removing her from AC. It’s all about the betterment of the adoptive dog at WCHS. They both were very accommodating and supportive of “Penny”…a pleasure to work with.

Worst place ever they need shut down. My dog ran off I told them showed them picture they said they call me they find him next day they called they found him I went an got him. His face was bleeding rubbed raw looked awful because they had musle on him left in on him didn't feed him or give him water

Love this place i have adopted 2 dogs from this shelter. The staff is so friendly. The time you get to spend with the animals is amazing. They are very good at suggesting dogs for you with what you are looking for. Those dogs deserve so much. I wish i had more time to visit with these beautiful animals.

Called about a stray dog today and the lady on the phone said they would send someone out to get it. Next thing I know, a very polite young woman came and picked up the dog and was so friendly! These people are amazing and wonderful when it comes to saving animals :). Great job!

I have never been to this shelter but maybe the guy with the cat that keeps having kittens on his property. Have u ever thought of taking this cat and have it spayed so at least she won’t keep having more kittens. Maybe this will make it easier for her to get into a rescue and find her forever home. There are so many cats in need. There is only so much help these shelters can do. The animal is the one that suffers in the end. Even if u can find friend and family to help this poor cat and donate towards the funds. We are the voice for these animals. They need our help

We adopted our "Sissy" in July 2019.We came from Indiana to meet her after seeing her on FB.I honestly didnt know what kind of shelter this was and prepared for maybe even an outdoor kennel.I found the staff to be more than accommodating and the shelter was so clean.Because it is a small shelter the people who are there know the dogs and were able to answer questions about her behavior, likes and dislikes.It is laid back we were able to see how she reacted loose with another dog and people who were in the office.I highly recommend Wayne County Humane Society and tell anyone who is looking to add a pet to their family.Sissy has been such a loving and cheerful addition to our home.It was because of the staff was familiar with her personality we were able to successfully add her to our pack.We will be forever thankful to them and urge you to consider looking there for your next pet...we surely will.

The people who run it are a joke .I have been trying to get them to come get a stray female cat for over a year. She was abandoned by a previous owner when I bought my house. She has had 3 litters of kittens and is working on her 4.they refuse to do their job and should be fired

I just had a chip put in my puppy and the staff was very nice and answered all my questions. And the price was cheap too.
