Dollar General use to be clean and a nice place to go for shopping but anymore that place is getting run down and to crowded with stuff in the isles. Most of the time they are out of the things you need. Its really a shame when you would rather travel to another DG to shop.

The store is always hot. Sometimes you have to ring a bell and wait a while for service. The aisles are full of merchandise. Most of the time, you have to leave your cart in the main aisle and carry your stuff to it. It is impossible to get through most aisles as they have more merchandise than they have room for.

Elmwood Store I guess Manager acted like she was put out due to the fact i had a couple Penny items & the only register open was self check out & you cannot ring up Penny items there so paid for other items i had already scanned & had to pay for Penny items at the other register after they opened it up & by then there was a line so i guess the manager had to open up another register - I am pretty sure I am not the only one that has bought Penny Items - You could tell she was put out over the whole deal & could hear she made a comment about it to another customer she was checking out but did not hear what all was said - That is your job to jump in & help when it gets busy & just wondering how many other customers she has treated like that & so what if it was a Penny item i had bought other stuff & chose to spend my money at your store a local business - I'll think twice about it next time & my sister was also there & purchased several items - I dont believe shes going to be in any hurry to go back either.

Narrow isles and lack of directional displays make maintaining 6 feet between individuals at all times difficult. Community hand sanitizer is absent, but traditional store dynamics are wonderful including a beautiful check out recent addition.

Some unloaded merchandise carts blocking the aisles which make getting through the store difficult. Narrow aisles which only allow one cart at a time. To be fair, this was during the labor shortage in 2021 resulting from the Covid pandemic. There may not have been enough personnel to keep the store tidy.

I’ve never seen a store in my life with so many issues. One day the door won’t open the next the self checkout won’t work now today they only accept cash….blows my mind.

This store is ridiculous. They are out of stuff all the time. They have no customer service. Pitiful that Elmwood has to put up with it. Not me I will drive elsewhere.
