We are extremely happy we went with these guys. Our fireplace situation had unique roadblocks and despite that, Jason was able to present us with the perfect plan. Mike brought the vision to life with his amazing craftsmanship. He and his team came in and worked long and hard, all the while having a positive attitude. Mike has a tremendous attention to detail and a passion to get the job done right - we felt we were in very good hands. Our fireplace looks incredible, and are extremely thankful to have this company be our “fireplace guys!”

Loving every minute of my new fireplace this fall/winter season! I've been using it nearly every day. It makes my famiIy room so cozy (see before/after pics). I worked with Kevin at the Lisle location and project manager RJ to redo my outdated and non-functional fireplace wall. They were great and totally helped me achieve my particular vision. This included pulling down faux wood paneling, knocking down brick, rewiring some electrical (for my frame tv), new dry wall (note they don't finish drywall so I did have to find someone to do that and paint), a new wood surround and slate tile, and installing a gas log set. It looks great and works like a charm. From the time I inquired about the project in-store to completion, and working with my busy schedule, the whole thing took about two months. Definitely recommend!

We were extremely pleased with the service we received from Fireplace & Chimney 'Authority. Originally, we planned to only service our 40 year old wood burning fireplace. They did a very thorough cleaning & inspection. They itemized all of the repairs we would need externally and internally. We ultimately decided to convert our wood burning fireplace to a gas fireplace. The sales staff was excellent with suggestions as well as the in home measure and consultation. The installation crew was extremely professional, punctual, neat, tidy and respectful. We would definitely recommend Fireplace & Chimney Authority for all of your fireplace needs.

I had a new grill assembled and perfectly installed today by Josh and Daniel. You cannot ask for a better installation team. I highly recommend asking for Josh to install your new grill. We had a gas fireplace fixed by this company about a month ago. It wasn’t fully operational and used a remote control system and wall switch to turn on. The tech changed it to solely use the wall switch to turn the system on and got it all up and working within an hour. He showed me how to operate it and turn it off for the summer. It has worked great ever since and the staff involved in scheduling and repair were all great to work with.

After 35 years of burning wood, we converted our fireplace to gas logs and could not be happier. Sales process was easy and quick, we saw so may log set ups on display in the Elmhurst showroom. Installation was done professionally and with great attention to detail. Roger and Dylan explained every step of the process and answered all of our questions. They were very respectful of our home and did a thorough clean up when they were done. We are sure to enjoy our new fireplace for years.

Had clean and inspection first. My 50 year old fireplace was not up to code. So I brought it up to code, then chose to update the mantel, add new damper, put in stone facade, and add glass doors with screen. All of the salespeople and workers were very professional, respectful of my condo, and clean. Left everything in good condition. They explained carefully how to work everything. I am absolutely thrilled how things turned out, better than I imagined. Would recommend the Elmhurst Fireplace and Chimney Authority to anyone.

We just had our gas fireplace cleaned and inspected. Jaime did an amazing job - beyond expectations as we just bought our home and the fireplace glass, etc. was really dirty, and we weren't sure how clean it could get, but its beautiful now. He also helped me understand a lot about the fireplace, never having owned one before, so I can know how to safely shut down and start up, and how to handle it in an emergency. I feel more confident with it now. He was patient in explaining and very thorough. I will use this service yearly and as needed.

Great service! Emilio & Ray treated us professionally and did a great job. They had to reline our chimney, install new pipes (in a very tight furnace room) & add chimney topper. They cleaned everything up when done as if they hadn't even been there. Great job guys!! Thank you.

I could not be happier with the service we received from Danny and Ray. Our fireplace was tricky and really needed a thoughtful and knowledgeable solution. Danny and Ray figured it out and did a great job with a much needed and overdue cleaning. They left the work area spotless. They were professional and kind. This company and its employees went above and beyond. After obtaining quotes from some competitors, we decided to go with Fireplace Chimney Authority for a top of chimney rebuild involving brick replacement and building of a new concrete crown. Due to existing brick being painted, they worked with us to find the closest match to what was currently there. Excellent workmanship, communication and attention to detail.

If you want a fireplace, this is the place to go. Store staff was very informative. The installation was flawless. Jacob, Jose, and Caesar were very respective of our home. They placed cardboard and tarps to protect our hardwood floor. Cleanup and explanation of all operating devices was thorough. I highly recommend.

Recently visited there showroom in Elmhurst where we meet RJ, he was extremely helpful in determining the correct gas insert for us at the price point we were comfortable with. When Jake and Steve arrived for the installation, they were very punctual and completely professional and courteous , taking great care to clean up afterwards. Installation was done in a very timely manner! Would recommend these guys without hesitation.

To start off: RJ was a great sales representative and coordinator for our fire place project. He answered all of our questions, worked over time for us (his choice) and I am sure his other customers. Quotes left and right for different ideas we had during the quoting process and ultimately guided us back in the right direction to a similar but smaller fire place than the old non working one. We downsized from a 38in to 32in that still puts out the same amount of heat while taking up less room (the dog is happy). It was a super smooth process from start to finish. RJ was on top of scheduling and really wanted us to have our fireplace earlier than our original install date but we couldn't make it work. Rj was a pleasure to talk with every single phone call-short sweet to the point conversations.The installers who came out were terrific! They explained the process, told us when they would be doing something and there might be a smell, noise, etc. When plans changed or I had questions they stopped to talk to me about it. Absolutely terrific installers! They had floor protection down, really didn't drop tools or make much noise beyond what they had to do. Over all, it was super professional experience I would absolutely buy more fireplaces from RJ, his team, and Fireplace & Chimney Authority. We are super happy and pleased with everything. We have used our fireplace everyday since the install.

We purchased a cleaning & inspection of our Mom's fireplace for her Birthday as she hadn't used it for at least 10 years. Mike and his co-worker were the best! Friendly, Through and Professional. They explained everything they were doing and even showed her a few things that needed attention (she even got a recipe from Mike, and it was delicious :)The fireplace looks brand new and my mom has used it everyday since it was inspected and cleaned! Today, we had our wood-burning fireplace and chimney cleaned by Fireplace & Chimney Authority. Rocky and Maddie called me when they were ten minutes away, which was really helpful so we could have our dog secured prior to their arrival. Rocky and Maddie were extremely friendly and professional. They did a great job cleaning the fireplace and chimney, and did a great job to not leave any mess behind. The entire process took less than one hour from arrival to completion. Rocky and Maddie took excellent before and after photos of the fireplace and exterior chimney and cap. I highly recommend Fireplace & Chimney Authority, and especially LOVED the coupon for $100 off the total price of the cleaning. I look forward to having them come out again in the future. Our wood burning fireplace was non functional when we purchased our home….Fireplace and Chimney Authority Inc not only got our fireplace to code, but also installed a gas insert! It is perfect. They did a great job from beginning to end (I especially appreciated the clean up they did!)

We had a wonderful experience with Jamie last week. He came to clean and check our ventless log system. We, also, talked about making the firebox look better. He was able to paint it right then and it looks totally amazing. The cleaning, log set check and painting he did deserves 10 stars! We purchased a new gas log set from Fireplace Authority last year; they were fine for that transaction, and said at the time that our fireplace was perfectly safe to use. This year, when I hired them for a $200 annual inspection, they quoted me approximately $10,000 in repairs and claimed that my new set needed "refurbishing," even though we had only used it for a few months total. I got a second inspection from another chimney company, and they told me that the vast majority of repairs quoted by Fireplace Authority weren't needed — and that refurbishing a gas log set isn't even a thing. The second company's quote for repairs, by comparison, was $785. When it comes to chimney inspections, I would avoid at all costs.Edited to add: To the manager who responded to my review, this review was posted back in 2022. Google updated the posting to this week after I corrected a typo. So I hope that addresses your concern as to the timing of this review.As you are questioning the reputation of the company that we did hire for repairs, I feel that it's important to clarify that it is a well-respected company that is routinely used by friends and neighbors in Western Springs who have very high expectations for their contractors. It has also been in business for over 50 years, so I think it's reasonable to say they are not in the business of cutting corners or failing to abide by federal safety standards.Based on other customers' reviews of FCA, it seems that, unfortunately, my experience with your company is not an isolated instance. In the future, I hope that you will take this feedback seriously instead of dismissing it and/or looking for ways to undermine the credibility of reviews. Wishing you well!

My husband and I bought a Majestic Fireplace with this company 3 years ago. For 3 years it worked very well, but now recently, it would not turn on. I called their offices and reported the problem saying clearly that the fireplace would not turn on. The lady called Amber asked me about batteries, I said I had changed the remote control batteries, she asked me about some other batteries inside the Fireplace, and I said I never changed it, then all of a sudden, the issue seemed to be the IMP-6 box batteries that I never changed, and she asked me if I would like to have a technician to change the batteries and clean the chimney, which I agreed . After the visit and all dustings and fannings plus batteries changed, my Fireplace was still not working , the guy said the box was faulty and he did not have another spare box in his car . He would have to return with the new box, which was not under warranty. He gave me a bill of $299,00 for dusting and cleaning and said the box had to be replaced - around $300,00 plus ANOTHER visit fee of $200,00. I refused to pay and contacted the office, that refused to admit they sent the wrong person, just a cleaning technician, and that I should have said the Fireplace was not working, which WAS THE FIRST THING I SAID. Let me say that again: the fireplace is only 3 years old!! Dont walk, run away from Fireplace and Chimney Authority.
