A friend and I visited to do some hiking. We rented the Chestnut cabin and it was perfect as a base camp! The beds were clean and comfortable and the showers were hot! We didn't utilize the kitchen except for the coffee maker.Super close to a lot of popular spots too!Staff in the outpost was friendly and helpful.

We stayed in the Cottonwood cabin. It was fantastic. The only reason we are giving 4 stars is because of the cleaning fee that is added to the cost and this is why…. There are instructions in the cabin that before leaving/checking out you are to wash all the dishes, clean the cabin, sweep the floor, take out all the garbage, etc. the only thing they ask you not to do is make the bed. Why are we paying you an extra $28 for your cleaning fee when we are doing all the cleaning? I could maybe understand if you had to go in and spend an hour or so cleaning the cabin for the next rental but this is not the case. I could also understand the cleaning fee being added after the fact if the cabin was left a mess, but it was not. I feel like charging a cleaning fee and then expecting your guests to do all the cleaning is a bit ridiculous. We travel a lot and have stayed in many places and have never been charged a cleaning fee in addition to the cost for the accommodations. We also make sure the place is tidy before leaving as that is how I was raised. I understand not everyone is like that.

Jasper the Adventure dog and his family stayed in one of the cabins at Timber Ridge. This particular cabin was very old. We felt like we were back in time or a part of Little House. It had been nicely furnished with modern appliances, electricity, running water, tv, refrigerator etc. This is a one room, futon and loft situation. We checked in at a little country store. It was great.

Stayed in the Cottonwood Cabin recently. Every part of our stay was outstanding. Check-in was easy, the cabin was clean and comfortable with air conditioning, hot water, and other amenities as advertised. We utilized the complimentary firewood and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening fire and played cornhole with the equipment provided at the picnic shelter. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in the Pine Ridge Home with several family members this past week. The property served our needs and was clean and well maintained when we arrived. The location was perfect for visiting Garden of the Gods and several other trail heads during our stay. We enjoyed our meals on the front porch and used the fire pit for a pleasant evening gathering.

One of the best vacation spots I have ever been. The cabin was clean and welcoming. An old time feel with some modern convenience. The cabins are generously spaced to allow for seclusion and privacy. The girl working the outpost for check-in was gracious and pleasant to deal with. We will definitely be back. Thanks for the great vacation.

Loved our visit to Timber Ridge. We stayed in the treehouse and it was incredible. The treehouse was cozy and stocked with necessities, games, and firewood. My family loved the scenery and enjoyed hiking at nearby garden of the gods. Looking forward to going back

What a surprise. Wife booked this as a surprise getaway! We got the tree house and it was very cozy. Of course it snowed before our arrival but still made good use of the fishing pond. They have grills and fire pits and readily available wood to warm you up. Very clean place with friendly owners!

We stayed in the Cottonwood cabin, and it was the perfect size for a couple. We felt we could have also brought our two young boys, and they could sleep on the foldout couch. We wouldn't feel safe with them sleeping in the loft due to how you get up and down, but it worked for us. The light switch is downstairs, so we had to get creative with using a flashlight to get up and down once we had the light off. Thankfully, neither of us got up in the middle of the night to have to use the bathroom. We were expecting the place to be more secluded, so we were surprised that it wasn't set back in the woods somewhere. However, we enjoyed stargazing and felt that we still had plenty of privacy. The location is perfect for visiting local hikes in Shawnee National Forest. We enjoyed hiking at Garden of the Gods, Burden Falls, Jackson Falls, and Bell Smith Springs. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this place for couples and families.

Timber Ridge cabins were the perfect venue for our group of extended family, including young-at-heart seniors, thirty-somethings, baby, toddler, and dogs. We rented three cabins; each cabin is unique and has indoor and outdoor dining space, plus a hammock and campfire area. Many amenities. Lighted pavilion allowed us to dine together outside for every dinner. Close to many area attractions kept us as busy as we wanted to be, while accommodating afternoon naps. Relaxing and comfortable. We will definitely come back. If you like nature, hiking, and comforts like AC and a fully-equipped kitchen, you will want to stay here. Owners were very thoughtful and easy to work with.

This was a cool treehouse. The owners were so helpful. We had 4 adults and 2 kids. It was too crowded for that size but we made due. 2-4 people would be the maximum size group. They had complimentary firewood available. There were two outside tables in the treehouse. Very close to the Garden of God's and Rim Rock trail.

This is our second time here and its inspired us to start planning a life move down permanently. Both cabins we have stayed in are perfect, clean, and stocked with the basics. The surrounding area is filled with wildlife. Yesterday alone we seen deer, several species of birds and a very friendly curious horse upon the ridge. Went hiking at the Garden of the Gods, grabbed some awesome ice cream at the OutPost. All the staff has been so personal and kind. Truly a hidden gem. With so many places to visit. Totally pet friendly as out cabin neighbors all have dogs this weekend. Truly could go on and on but this is some thing you must experience at least once. Recommend planning easy simple meals, have containers, foils and plastic wraps of your own. They have basic utensils and dinnerware but for the chef you will for sure want to prep ahead.

The White Oak Treehouse was AWESOME. it was perfect size for my family of three. All necessities were accommodated in the unit and our stay was way more comfortable than I was expecting in a treehouse. Also, the private fishing pond on the property was really fun and we all caught several large fish.My 7 y.o. Daughter kept saying how she couldn’t believe we were staying in a treehouse. My only suggestion would be to replace the futon mattress on the main level as it is very thin and since it is the main seating it is not very comfortable but it was minor and we didn’t spend much time sitting anyway! It’s so close to Garden of the Gods and lots of other park locations and hiking. Will definitely be back!

I have not stayed in the cabins or treehouses yet, but I am definitely going to give them a try soon. The property is beautiful and serene. The cabins are adorable and very secluded. I walked around and even checked out the catch and release catfish pond. Looking forward to staying here with my husband. Hopefully for our anniversary!

Our family took over both tree houses and both log cabins for out fall get-together.. We were in the woods, yet we had comfortable beds, hot showers and full kitchens. We found the large Sassafras Ridge cabin to be a great place to gather as a group, but it was nice to have the privacy of our own cabin or tree house to go home to. The setting is beautiful and very, very peaceful. We highly recommend it. Our family will be back next year.

Had a great time here last year in May with my family and our friends. We enjoyed the cabins amenities and the grounds that had several entertaining areas. The Garden of the Gods was an amazing site, as well. Very much enjoyed staying here and would definitely do it again!

Beautiful little cabins in the heart of Shawnee. Very accommodating and nicely decorated. Stocked cabinets with everything you need to make a meal, all you need is the food! Beds are comfy and clean. Cabins are very clean and maintained. Would recommend these to friends (already have) and will definitely be back.

I recently booked for a weekend getaway for me and my husband and our dog. We loved it so much we ended up staying the rest of the week. The houses and cabins where immaculate. Beds where comfortable and internet worked great which we used to work in the mornings and then hiked in the afternoons. Marty and Elizabeth take great pride their business and it shows. I am booking again in the fall to bring the grandkids.

We absolutely loved our stay here. We stayed in the Maple Oak treehouse. It is such a cool concept and they executed it with every detail covered. They supply you with firewood for the fire pit and have chairs for each cabin. They have all of the amenities you need in the cabins.

Nice place to stay. The location is close to Garden of the Gods. This treehouse would be good for a family with children. We had two couples and it was a bit small for us.

Super cool place to stay in the forest! We stayed in Maple Oak Treehouse; great for 2 people - probably a little cramped if you plan to spend a lot of time in there with more people. We would love to come back and stay in the larger tree house with our family next time! Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend.

We stayed in Maple Oak. Loved the cabin. Loved the Garden of the Gods trails. Were not able to go into KY by ferry or into Cave In Rock area as they were closed due to this virus. Still really enjoyed our sister bonding time.Thank you so much. Looking for a return trip.

My family stayed in the White Oak treehouse and it was awesome! It sleeps 6 and we were all pretty comfortable. They had a fridge, microwave, hot plate, and WiFi. Plus it was a beautiful area with a lot of stuff to do relatively nearby. Awesome experience and I'd love to go back sometime!
