Great Home Depot, and it's stocked well. Employees are nice and the store is clean. Who doesn't love DIY projects, and Home Depot has great service in the store, online, and by phone. It's my all-time favorite place to shop.

I go to many Home Depot locations (and Lowe's too). This Home Depot has to be the least contractor friendly location I've gone to. There is literally no room inside this store to push your cart down the main aisle. Management seems to cram all these displays of "special buys" all in the main aisles, blocking them from carts being able to go through. I purposely avoid going to this specific location because of this and when I even tried to speak to a manager about this issue, he blew me off pretty much saying this is what his boss wants and he has no say. Another problem with this location is they close the pro desk/checkout/entrance much earlier (1-2 hours) before the store's closing time. I like to do my shopping in the evenings. If they close up the pro checkout and entrance before the store and I can't push my large cart of supplies/purchases down the main aisle, then what's the point of me going to this location? This location truly makes it a hassle for contractors and people who are in the trades.A few more problems:The parking lot at this location is dark at night. It really needs much more exterior lighting. It appears the store is closed from the road when it isn't, just because of the limited exterior lighting. That's a safety issue too.The employees really don't know much of anything. They don't even know the products or locations of items in their own departments. I guess that's a huge disadvantage of having "merchandise execution teams" doing all the work of merchandising the departments and overnight stockers stocking the departments.. The actual employees that "work" in the departments and face the customers during the store's open hours don't actually know jack about anything in "their department". Also, this location has A LOT employees, especially at the front end/checkouts, that stand around and talk to each other, ignoring most of the customers. I think you might as well just lay off/fire most of them to save the store some money.I have to ask, what's the deal with this store only puting out clearance merchandise during the weekends and puting them on pallets and storing them on the racks during the week? I sometimes like to buy clearance items and have no problems getting them at all the other stores but when I go to this location, they'll have clearance merchandise "stored" during the weekdays and only out on the sales floor during the weekend. Strange.Really though, I avoid this location as much as possible and will drive the extra miles to Geneva, IL or Elgin, IL because this location makes it impossible to push a shopping cart down the main aisle or enter/pay for my purchases on the pro side at night. Unbelievable..

Perk and pickle food truck parked outside of home Depot. Had the Cuban and tater tots. He rotates between Best buy and home Depot. Super nice guy and he has great food!

Person name Corey start raising voice at me and told me that he can’t help me return this item. He wanted to do a little show for his employees or what I do not care. Check videos on your cameras 3:30 -3:40 by return register. Light is off on it by the way!Eventually when I brought same item of their shelf he gave me a store credit. Will not shop here ever!Nice attitude would be appreciated. I was not angry at all. And polite. Check your store cameras!

The friendliest and most helpful staff of any home improvement store that I've ever been to. Typical H.I. store employees hide so they don't get asked questions, but everyone here was smiling and offered to help :)

First off - I fully expect this to fall on deaf ears, since this has gone on for years. Normally at the holidays, however now it is all the time.WHY does the store block the main aisle with products?? Is it laziness or incompetence?You can barley get a cart down the front aisle and even then you are banging products off these cheap cardboard display cases. It is has gotten so bad that I will literally try to find any other store first, before heading to that Home Depot.This has got to be a fire hazard. Maybe I can get a response from the city or county fire marshal...

This Home Depot needs to discontinue their curbside pick up service. They made me wait for 25 minutes to deliver my curbside order.

My fiance and I went to this location today to buy a new hot water heater. We were helped by Dorian and Steve. They are absolutely the best! They were knowledgeable and friendly. And helped us out huge with same day delivery!!! These 2 deserve an award!!!!! I cannot Express how easy they made our experience at home depot today. We love you Dorian and Steve!!!

I had a great experience purchasing a GE washer at the South Elgin, IL Home Depot. The front end staff were very polite and professional. The associate that completed the transaction was professional and knowledgeable, all while while we had an enjoyable conversation. I am a long time customer at this Home Depot and I’m never disappointed with any facet of shopping there.

I thought that Home Depot was forcing it's customers to use self check to save money and hire knowledgeable staff. This it seems is not the case as now the place is well staffed by people who know nothing about the products, their locations or uses. They are very pleasant as they tell you they can't help you. Then you get in line for self checkout while 3 people stand around talking, ignoring the customers. This place is definitely less desirable to visit than Menards. Guess I'll keep shopping at Menards.

I visited this Home Depot recently for small stones. As always the stone (decorative small stones in a bag) I was looking for was "unavailable " but did find something suitable. Looking for the price, looking for the price...... there it is, $24 . Wait $24 for a bag of rocks! Oh heck no! C'mon man. What's going on. See ya

I rented a 16’ Penske truck today, and I was provided a truck with bad brakes and a ramp handle that was broken, making it very difficult to slide out and push back in. Manager Javy and his coworker Quinn did nothing to resolve the matter. Quinn said it slid out and back in fine, he did it the other day. When I asked him to please go demonstrate for me, his Manager Javy said he wouldn’t authorize it, ‘as I seemed agitated’ Usually this store is very customer friendly. I’ll never go there again. It’s Menards and Lowe’s from now on. The continued lack of customer service or finding a resolution doesn’t exist here. They might also want to fix their complete lack of parking lot lights.

Parents, if your son or daughter is looking for a place to work, have them look elsewhere. The management team doesn’t care about its employees. They treat them like garbage by denying them time off, giving them no room to grow or develop their skills, little pay raise, and just all around treating the employees very badly. The management team takes advantage of everyone and they don’t seem to care. They only act like they care. So I suggest finding a different place to work, one that will allow your son or daughter to grow, be treated like a human, and allow them to grow as a person and as an employee.

Was asked if I was being helped after 3 minutes of waiting for someone to arrive at the paint dept. A representative arrived shortly after the page went out throughout the store. Very helpful individual and received a veteran discount at checkout. Great job Home Depot!

The front desk service team is absolutely garbage including the assistant store manager. Besides trying to find solutions they just like to say we don't know we can't help you sorry the online team told you the wrong information we can't do anything. You have to pretty much pull their teeth out to get any kind of help, even to call another store to verify something. This review is solely on the South Elgin customer service team and the assistant store manager that worked Thursday May 12th.

I stopped in to get some paint samples. I got their brand. They give u a descent size for $4.99. Everywhere else give u a very small sample. I have always used their paint....my bf bought Dutch Boy once. Told me it was the best, until he used it!! Lol, when will he ever listen to me🤣. Thank you Home Depot👍

It's the Home Depot. I am pretty sure that everyone knows what the Home Depot is. It's a gigantic warehouse that takes 30 minutes to find anything. This store is great for people with those fitbit watches because you will probably end up walking a mile by the time you leave the store. If you've ever dreamed about being a cashier, this is the place for you. They don't have cashiers anymore. After you are finished walking 2 miles to get the 1 silly item that you wanted you also get to be your own cashier. I avoid this place whenever possible.

I have always had a good experience when I go to Home Depot. Friendly staff and well stocked with even the most unique items. They once helped me design a kitchen remodel and it turned out fantastic. I am glad I have one just a few miles away! I have had a much better experience here than another major chain.

My husband & I went into the South Elgin, IL location about two weeks ago looking to buy a patio set. The young guy Ceasar who helped us was absolutely amazing. He was very helpful & was able to help us answer all of our questions. He handed us over to the service counter to complete our transaction & the woman Jennifer who “helped” us was thee RUDEST person i have ever come across in the customer service industry. I quite honestly don’t know how she still has a job. She was talking so disrespectfully to my husband & I actually began shaking because I was so frustrated & quite honestly in shock. The amount of attitude & just absolute disrespect this woman had toward us for absolutely no reason at all while trying to make what was a very LARGE purchase was unacceptable. People who are that rude & negative should not be allowed to deal with others on a daily basis. Anyways, thank you to Ceasar who made our experience great & chose not to ruin our day!

It was great experience today, we went there just to look around and we end up buying a vanity, they had a clearance, one of the person that work there, NATE approached us and ask us if we needed help, we ask her a couple questions about the clearance items and she was very helpful, she brought us a flat cart to carry the vanity, $100 dollar vanity, regular price it was $459, what a deal.

I’m a contractor that frequents Home Depot very often, sometimes too often. I’ve never had a problem with products or equipment I’ve purchased here. The one time I did, Amanda at the front service desk gave me her undivided attention and concern to me. Spoke to the manager Cory and even though it was my crews mistake for not double checking before application. They replaced it at no cost to us.This is pure customer service. I bought the wrong electrical outlet snd didn't realize until I opened the package. They took the return without any hassle. A few days prior we bought paint here and the paint counter was super helpful. The home depot brand paint covered the walls in one coat!

Deals are good and the returns are easy. The staff are incompetent in that they're usually unknowledgeable about their own products. Not just the very young kids either. I feel like Ron Swanson when I go here. I'll be getting things ready for a project, and just tell them go away I know more than you.
