Awful customer service. I came to this location to pick up some things for my husband; before checking out I changed my mind on some gardening gloves and left them in a different isle. I paid for my items and started walking to my car when I was yelled at by a “security officer” asking me “where those gloves at?”, I told him that I left them in the isle and he looked at me like I was lying so I told him I would gladly show him. I took him to the gloves and he looked disappointed that they were actually there. I received no Thank you and no explanation as to why I was approached. Horrible customer service.

Went in for a piece of tile for the bathroom. Came out with mallomars , frozen bacon. Some candy. A sponge A cabinet for the laundry room a fan for the bathroom with heat dimmable lights and blue tooth. A floor warmer for bathroom under the new flooring. And a brush This place has everything. Oh dog food. I bought some dog food too.

I'd like to share an experience that I had recently at this Menards. My wife found an electric fireplace there that she thought was absolutely perfect. Unfortunately when we opened the box after getting it home, we discovered that quality wise- it wasn't so perfect. It had some defects with the finishing and some of the wood pieces were splintered on the edges. We returned it to the store for an exchange and the helpful folks in customer service and the plumbing department brought another fireplace up front for us and even let us open the box at our request to see if there were any visible problems with it. Unfortunately this box also had parts inside which had defects, so we decided to get a refund and head home. The next day we wanted to give things another try so we went to the Carpentersville Menards to check for the same fireplace there as they had more in stock, and we hoped maybe they may have arrived to the store in better shape. We experienced great service in Carpentersville, too, as they let us open the box and have a look before we took it home. Everything looked good this time so we loaded it into the car and we were on our way. After unboxing it at home all of the pieces looked great except for one part: the glass pane that goes on the front of the fireplace. It had some deep scratches in the glass. Realizing that we had just returned a defective fireplace to the Elgin Menards not even 24 hours earlier, I decided to return there with the defective glass pane to see if they would let me swap it out for the one included with the defective fireplace. We had not inspected that part from the initial defective box so I thought maybe there was a chance it was good. Long story short, they pulled the defective box we returned from receiving, and allowed me to open it up and get the glass pane. It was perfect- no scratches, no issues. I headed home with it and my wife and I finished putting together the electric fireplace that now sits in my living room in front of me as I type this.Totally unmatched customer service. I don't think I've ever experienced this sort of thing at another store like I have at Menards. Thanks for being a cut above!

We picked up a new washing machine last Saturday afternoon, August 19th, and the process was very organized and easy. We were highly impressed with how Terrance greeted us as soon as we pulled up and how quickly and easily he loaded the washer into our van for us. He was friendly and helpful. Kudos to him!

Employees are great. Prices much better than Home Depot. Go next door for groceries (cheaper next door, or go to Walmart for even less). Knocked a star off because their POS system seems to love to place MULTIPLE pending charges on my CC. So pay cash or use apple pay here (FINALLY) if you dont want that issue.

Fair amount of people in each department ready to help out. This place has a huge load of materials for home improvement and such. Would recommend on getting the key essentials and try not to go for the side items that not involved with home improvement. Obviously there are some cool stuff to distract your eyes, but there are some products that just fail on you.

I found the Central Air Unit cover that I was looking for. It is of nice quality, thick vinyl and large enough that its not snug. They have round and square. Time to clean the leaves out and cover the unit.

Good supply of home maintenance, repair, and furnishing items. Also a few groceries and pet supplies.Staff here is their best feature! Every person we've met has been beyond helpful and knowledgeable.When we bought new blinds, the staff member who helped us gave us insights into the choices in stock and how to measure for custom width adjustments. When we needed concrete repair for a small yard ornament, the clerk talked through what issue we had and explained what products might work best; didn't just steer us to the most expensive product as some stores do. When we ask a question about the location of an item, the person who helps will answer your question, escort you to that location, and stay to make sure you've found what you wanted. Great customer service!!Local delivery of big items seemed a little pricey to us. It was almost $100 to have a bulky box of self-assemble lawn furniture delivered less than 2 miles away. Now that we know, next time we will just rent a truck for an hour and haul it ourselves.They have lots of 11% off sales. This is a rebate, not a discounted price or cash refund. You have to mail in the form and that portion of your receipt. It usually takes 2 months to receive the rebate (which can only be used in a Menards location). After receiving only 2 of 3 rebates we submitted in plenty of time before deadlines, we now complete the forms in blue ink. Issues with rebates are a corporate problem, not the fault of this store.

Don't buy any from the Electrical Department.Bought a lighting fixture. When I went back to exchange it for the same fixture, they wanted to charge me $2 more than what I paid. Another time went to buy Led flood light. Pick it up to go pay for it and notice it was $2 cheaper in next aisle for the flood light.Another time to buy light bulbs. Two different prices for the same light bulb. The light bulb were next to each other. Management is terrible.

Unfortunately I was very bad treated by the a very rude manager..I supposed to buy a camping chair, I took it from the shelves, when I got to the cashier the price was wrong .. we called the manager I showed to him the price on the shelves .Then he just told them price was a mistake … “if you don’t want to pay the correct price, just don’t buy it.”Congratulation to Menars to have hired people like this… Home Depot.. here we go..

Great selection of many items needed for home. Prices are fair. Plenty of parking space. Close to the area. Surrounded by other stores that may be convenient to stop by. I mostly go here for light bulbs for yard and inside of home. They have longer hours that Ace too, which is a plus.

This is my first time buying a storm door for my front porch in Menards. I had a great experience with customer service. I bought a door yesterday and Danny was the person who took time to showed me few doors, went over prices, styles etc. I bought it, but left it there until today to be picked up and installed. Unfortunately there was a damage with one of the pieces, so I had to go back. Jason was excellent helping me and reaching out someone in that department to help me out. John and Jason were very proactive, respectful and cheerful at the same time. These types of people who brighten your day, because they know and like their job are the ones who should work in customer service. I appreciate their prompt problem solving skills, and shining personality that despite my frustration they made my day.Sincerely,Ivy

Went for misc. items, but motor oil and found my weight already out of stock. It always seems like stores run sales on items not well stocked. I might be wrong, but had to settle for 1 quart bottles instead of 5 quart jug. Then, I couldn't find my receipt. Had to go through customer service because they said that the printer was working.

Hey Menards, I just came today to pick up, amongst other things, a pruning tool.Unfortunately, when I opened it, it's clearly been used quite a lot already. I absolutely love this store. We are renovating a house and I went into the paint section and Frank could not have been any more helpful. My husband had given me a list of things to get and Frank grabbed them within minutes including mixing my paint for me. A big thank you, this store never disappoints.

Went to purchase a piece of siding for my house. Richard went far and beyond to help me. He was able to locate the siding which I could not find because it was still under 3 pallets. He offered plastic wrap to protect my vehicle, gave me great advise on loading it to my car. He was very knowledgeable and nice, because of him I had a great experience at your store. The store is clean and well managed. It is a tad on the big side so you might need to ask for help to find what you're looking for. For the most part, the employees are very courteous and knowledgeable. The cashiers too, and the courtesy patrol is very good with their job. Overall, a good place to shop.

Awesome place. Went in to the store looking for a part to replace a noisy section in the toilet, found an upgrade kit to change the standard toilet to a dual flush ( up for fluid, down for solid) for under $22.00 !And hey, if it doesn't work, hubby will be going back to get the universal kit that was only $13 :)

I needed to move a large treadmill across town from my Mom’s house. I decided to rent a pickup truck and an appliance dolly from this Menard’s and they made it so easy! Went in first thing in the morning when they opened at 6 am, and MaryAnne was very helpful in explaining everything and getting me the truck. And when I came back to return the truck and dolly, Jose was great as well. The process was seamless from start to finish. And cheap as well! It cost me less than $30 to have the truck and dolly for 2-and-a-half hours. Can’t beat that. I will definitely be back in the future if I need to use a truck again. Thank you, Menards!

Clean efficient location with a decent size garden section connected to the lumber and outdoor side of the store. Multiple.checkout areas. Store is well stocked and well marked. Parking lot can be a bit of an adventure die to its narrow aisles and equally narrow frontage.

I came into contact with 3 employees in the store today. The first one had a great suggestion on how to solve my problem and walked to the location of the item. The second was a pleasant cashier who offered me extra bags so the bricks I bought could sit on top of them rather than in my car. The third guy was the cart guy he saw me loading bricks and helped me without asking and then returned my cart ...Wow! Amazing experience top to bottom. That's rare these days that's why I love my Menards!
