I went to purchase a self propelled lawnmower. The gentleman who I talked to on the phone was Stacy. He told me to ask for him when I got to the store. He was the first employee I came across in the power equipment. I not only needed a lawnmower but I also needed some bolts to put my highway pegs on my motorcycle. He was super nice he explained what the difference was between a lock tight nut and a regular nut. I'm a widower and truly appreciated the extra time and effort to educate me on this! Stacy went to the lawnmowers and acted like it was nothing for him to handle this monster box off the top shelf. I asked if there was any already put together he said no but opened the box and showed me exactly what it would take to put it together. He was absolutely right it was very simple! This man is an exceptional employee Rural King you have a wonderful really fantastic guy here! I can't express how helpful he was. Thank you Stacy

Gave only three stars because when walked in the door met a manager. Being in a kind of rush asked him where the item I went in for was. He told me they were sold out went to look for another item and a sales person approach asking if he could help me find anything.told him what I was looking for and what the manager said but took me took the idle where they were. Got what I needed even though a bad start. In all management should take their time for customer service than be in a get out of my hair attitude.ill give all thumbs up to that helpful man that did help out with me getting that so called sold out item. Most there are customer service orientated.

I visited the Rural King location in Effingham IL, 62401, 201 Walk Ave, to return some vegetable seeds I purchased a week ago, and was DEMANDED to give my phone number to the cashier and threatened to not get my money back if I didn't, I asked for Management and was told it's a POLICY by Two DIFFERENT MANAGERS ( JOSH, and the other manager an older woman ) ( I've read RURALKINGS return policy nowhere dose it state that I have to give my phone number to get a refund ), I kindly explained I didn't have a phone number to give and was told to give a FAKE one, so I did to get my money back! ( after it took them Two Tries to figure out how to give me a refund ) MEANWHIAL an employee named HOLLY was standing behind me LAUGHING OUT LOUD, making rude comments like ( "THIS IS'NT WALMART" ) and trying to escalate the argument. I now have a RECIPTE with another Customer's FULL Name, Account Number's, Reward Points ECT. BEWARE of this location!

Great farm store. Love the farm house decor they carry. Nice selection of clothes. They carry several different styles of boots. A lot of their automotive dept is cheaper than Wal-Mart. They carry everything you could think of for your animals large and small.

Wide selection of farm and ranch goods. Seemed fairly well laid out. The free popcorn looked like it was butter flavored but was not flavored at all.

On our way back from vacation, stopped in really quick before heading back up north and it was great. We've never been to this place and wanted to check it out. Huge selection if items that we can't get up north...ended up leaving with bags of stuff. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable...oh we're definitely stopping by the next time we go back down south.

Had an awesome sale. It may of just been that time of year. Employees was friendly and helpful. The on duty was reminding a female employee what to do and that employee answered kinda of snappy or rude in my opinion. If was the manager I would have asked the customer to please wait for a couple of minutes and had a talk with that female employee. Other than that it was a good experience.

I make more than a few trips amoth to R.K. if it's only for candy and BBQ sauce. But once here I find myself drawn all over the store. Especially in the spring.

I needed help finding something in the pet supplies department. I looked around and saw no one, not even anyone in the tools department. I then went to the front desk and asked for someone to assist me. The counter person, which was very friendly and helpful, called on the radio for someone to assist me. I went back to the pet supplies, waited at least 7 minutes. No one showed up. I then traveled around the store. I saw a gentleman walking around with a scanner so he seemed very important and I probably should not have disturbed him. I kept walking by the clothing department and I found 3 gentlemen standing, talking having a grand old time discussing things that had absolutely nothing to do with their place of employment. I was not about to interrupt their important conversation. They probably had their radios turned away down so their conversation wasn't interrupted. I then proceeded to the front desk, paid for my items and left. I will have to go elsewhere for the items I was searching for.

I love the stores, however, I entered late (about 20 min before close) and the employees were a lot more interested in hanging out and closing than helping me find what I was looking for.

This is suspose to be a farm store, but they don't have Bush hog blades or bolts and nuts to match. No customer service, when you ask all you get is well maybe in the nut and bolt isle. The employee that would know has clocked out. Why pay someone who can't help customers?

We love to go there and shop in the gardening area. Saunter around and dream of beautiful flowers and big ripe tomatoes. But yesterday as we entered the plant area an employee was running a leaf blower full blast right next to the area and it was very loud and it was blowing debris on the customers that were in the plant area. I saw several people holding their ears and leaving the area. This might have not been the best time to tidy up with a leaf blower while several several people were attempting to shop in that area.

Great everyday low prices on many items! They offer a large array of items, such as housewares, pet, farm, clothing, boots, guns, and more. I love their red soda pop and the price is very reasonable compared to national brands. It's an all around family store... Take your dog, your kids! They offer free popcorn and coffee as well!

bought a display Charles Daly 601 semi auto 12 gauge and went home to assemble the barrel and noticed it would not engage because the o ring was bad. No return policy or o rings to get this done correctly and am told i have to call the manufacturer to get the o ring. so I guess since they disassembled it and broke the ring i have to wait until i do all of the work getting the part that they broke before using the rifle. Unreal.

This store has a little bit of everything. It's got a box-store at the rodeo vibe but the employees are helpful and knowledgeable.If you have any small engines that don't quite start anymore, check out their repair shop.It's in front corner next to the firearms counter, just beyond the pallets of ammunition.

The kids always love getting popcorn when we get in the door.Tonight we got our son a new pair of cowboy boots, they had his size, thank goodness. We got a good deal on them. We purchased some clothes, shoes, and candies also. A employee helped us to find an item and he was super friendly. We talked about some concerts we have been too and so forth. All the while he had a smile on his face.

Had exactly what we needed & the cashier was nice & fast. The parking lot could be painted a little differently. Tons of big trucks, SUVs & some are pulling trailers, boats & popup campers. Really hard navigating & parking in it.
