Literally just went there 10 minutes ago with my boyfriend to buy smores for our bonfire and a lighter(I'm 18, he's 17...a month away from being 18) and she asked for our ID, my boyfriend gave him hers and she refused to sell it to us even after I told her I was 18 and I could grab my ID. We ended up realizing we needed a lighter and I asked her if I could just return one of the items I had purchased before and she could ring me up for a lighter( my boyfriend was in the car at this point and I had brought my ID ) And she said I couldn't return it anyways because they were out of receipts and I was like okay fair enough...I went to go put the lighter back and she looked at me like I was disgusting and immediately raised her voice saying "I CANT SELL IT TO YOU STOP TOUCHING THE LIGHTERS. YOU CANT HAVE THEM." At this point I was like okay...😐and walked out of the store. I'm honestly disgusted with how we were treated after we spent our money and were nothing but respectful up until we got treated with disrespect. I've gone to this dollar general 90 percent of my life, it's honestly sad that this is how people are getting treated now. I hope this lady realizes she can't just talk to people like that. Doesn't matter how old anyone is, everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

DO NOT GO THERE AND IF YOU DO MAKE SURE YOU GRAB THAT RECIET CAUSE I BOUGHT HEAD PHONE AND BOTH WERE FOR THE RIGHT EAR TRIED TO JUST EXCHANGE WITH THE SAME LADY AND SHE REFUSED. They are junk they won’t even hook up to use one cause I can’t put them both in the case they are basically worthless and so are the employees who work there she was the actual lady who rang me up and she seen they are junk 12.50 for absolute nothing can not use them at all don’t spend the little money we have on anything electronics wise at there store it’s all junk UPDATE::: I was able to get them exchanged I understand now why they didn’t want to and so I will be going back but it is still a great idea to get your receipt.

Like the fact you can use digital coupons. Smaller stores may not carry as many product. However shopping is very convenient when you need to get in and out. The cashier is very friendly and their to help you and answer any questions. My shopping experience was very pleasant.

Love that they updated it! More items to choose from,which is nice. Really like the frozen and refrigerated section. The only issue that I have is that the aisles seem so tall and close together. I know it's a smaller store but feels very claustrophobic at times. Also love their new app that they have now very helpful.

One of my favorite stores very. Reasonable and friendly to customer's there is few things they need to work on electric cars for those who cant walk with out help. Halls needs to kept cleanNeed so there is no accidentsBut otherwise fine

They had a decent one day only sale so I wanted to pick-up a few of the items. It was pretty busy during the 4pm hour. But the clerk's worked fast to get everyone rung up. Many of the shelves were bare though.

DuQuoin has one of the better stores I've been in. Its clean, organized, stocked and the staff is friendly. Other DGs should take notes from this store. I dislike everything there is about shopping and shopping here is pretty painless. 5 stars from me!

Bought a sweatshirt 10/02 at dollar general in Carbondale, IL. It was too big so I tried returning it 10/03 at dollar general in du quoin, IL. The ASSISTANT MANAGER told me she would not accept my receipt because an inch had been torn off. I have no clue how it got torn- I could’ve been handed the receipt like this. However, you can clearly see it’s a dollar general receipt, from Carbondale, and purchased 10/02. I said when you scan the bar code, the whole receipt pops up but she still refused. I’m on the phone w corporate now. Only because Carbondale said they will accept it & du quoin said they won’t. I live in Du Quoin

This place is so slow, you might as well go to Walmart. Need help finding something good luck! TIP: Don't recommend them to open another register because the cashier will catch a whole attitude, like you asked them to sacrifice one of their kids. The only good thing about the store is Kim and the young man with curly hair. They acknowledge you when you enter and go beyond to make sure your okay. The rest of y'all need to be retrained or raised.

Very convenient store with all the basic necessity. But make sure you get your receipt because 2 of the coupons I used did not get discounted and had to go back in to get my $6.36.

Always so nice and very helpful. I go there alot for work and sometimes well 90 percent of the time I have 6 or more transactions and I hate holding up the line so they will open the other register for me!
