I've been taking my dog Brosia here for years and years they are always so sweet and accommodating. In fact so accommodating, I feel like my dog is a celebrity there 😂 she always comes back looking fabulous and I know she's well taken care of here!

Brought my newly adopted hospice pup to Gigi's for his first ever grooming. He was in bad need of a proper shower and cut & came to us after surgeries so parts of him were shaved. He has trauma issues and is blind. The girls at Gigi's took him in with such care and loved him. They took their time with him and he came out to me looking so handsome and at ease. Very happy

This grooming place rocks! And has the best staff and bathers ever! I’ve taken my dog here for years and years and he’s gotten the best groom every time! Gigi is one of the best owners of this shop that I’ve ever been around! Her husband George is even funny and cool!

I’m very confused about any of these negative reviews. Gigi and her staff are the most welcoming people I’ve ever met. My dog has had nothing but positive experiences. They are so happy so see her and she is happy to see them. I have referred them several times and heard nothing but good things from friends.

They did a wonderful job with two of my three dogs. I knew my old girl was a long shot but they were patient and tried their best to allow her time to relax and allow them to groom her. While their efforts were in vain I so appreciate the fact that they tried their best to make her comfortable and cared for her all day. Nothing but compliments from the appointment through pick up. Gigi’s was so thorough and attentive and d about the comfort of ask three of my girls.!! If I could give more stars I would.

Absolutely love this place! I have been taking my puppies here since 2017. They do amazing grooms, and care about the dogs. Out of the places we have gotten our dogs groomed this is the place we like the most. Gigi’s has always brought up concerns they have had about our dogs to us. When she noticed the black dog Princess Cha Cha struggling with join pain she gave us recommendations of what we can do to help, and showed me what I could do to prevent Sprinkles from getting mats between grooming appointments.My biggest recommendations for having the best experiences is this. If you are looking for a VERY specific groom bring pictures or references of what you want, if your dog is aggressive or tends to bite people let them know, that way we can keep the dogs and the people safe. Take your dogs out to use the bathroom before you get them groomed, and if you have any questions or concerns LET THE STAFF KNOW. Gigi’s will do anything to make sure your dog is happy and healthy, and telling them extra information allows them to ensure you dog gets the proper care your dogs need.

First time bringing our 9-year old Schnauzer here. Very satisfied with the experience! The staff was welcoming and friendly over the phone and in person.Maxie's coat and nails got trimmed and he smells absolutely delightful! Max even got to take home a soft squeaky toy, too.$55 well spent. I definitely recommend bringing your fluffy kiddos to Gigi's. Just a heads up though: book at least 2 weeks in advance.Thank you! We'll be back.

I'm extremely protective of my furkids and very particular about their grooming. I have always been very happy with the grooming my 3 little girls receive here. Gigi and staff are so gentle and sweet with my babies. Highly recommended!

I know the owner's mother and she had told me about Gigi's time and time again. I finally gave them a try and was very pleased. Polite and helpful staff on the phone. They did the whole package too, no shortcuts! Bath, cut, anal glands, high quality soap (which was easy on his sensitive skin), ears, nails (grinded down too at no extra charge), and Patrick came out looking fabulous. They even gave him a little bandana, super cute! I was a bit discouraged because of price, $50, considering I was told it was only going to be $35 by the owner's mother (my coworker) but now that it's been a couple months, I can definitely say it was worth it. Patrick still smells like blueberries and his fur grew back evenly as well. I definitely recommend Gigi's Pet Salon, they treat your pet with the utmost respect and care! :)

My 2 senior dogs have seen other groomers for years, but I just moved to the area and tried Gigi’s today. I’m amazed! They really listened to what I like for my pups and for once in a long time the cut and care was superb! Gigi even managed to get the tartar off my old buddy’s teeth. Glad I found her! 😊

The absolute best nail trim and file my dogs have ever had!! I have three dogs ages 13, 8 and 4. I called yesterday and they took me last minute. The past 13 years my dogs nails for one have never been short enough and they are now!! And they’re usually still sharp after a nail trim, now they’re a not! GIGI’s did the absolute best ever!! And they loved my dogs the way I do. From the moment I walked in I could feel their love for animals. I’ll never waste time taking them anywhere else again! Best best best!!

DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR PETS.They SPRAINED my puppy's tail and he hasn't been able to wag his tail since. They took no responsibility and didn't bother to care. They took my money and tip without any remorse. If you love your pet, don't trust these people especially the manager.I took my healthy puppy in for a groom and he came out a couple of hours later crippled. He has always been a happy puppy and has his tail up all the time. Now he refuses to raise his tail and cries in pain when we touch it. His tail is swollen and red. I called the manager and his excuse was to blame it on my puppy. Stating that the breed of my puppy usually has a sensitive tail. My puppy is a small Pomeranian and they DO NOT have sensitive tails. Usually bigger dogs have a higher chance of spraining or breaking their tails. A small puppy can not sprain or injure their tails on their own. So the manager's lie doesn't even MAKE SENSE! I would give this place no stars if that was possible. The owner refused to refund me and refused to pay for my puppy's vet cost. Do no trust these people. They don't care about your pets only about their money.

How could a grooming company say they weren't paying attention and then blame the fault on a dog? I don't think these are "professional groomers" as they say in their about us page. A professional groomer would pay attention while grooming and be able to work around a dog that moves. Manager is refusing reimbursement of vet or service cost when the groomer stated they weren't paying attention while cutting the tail. They made us pay before we get to see our puppy and didn't even bother to call when they cut and sprained the tail.If you enjoy seeing your dog traumatized and now depressed, come on down to Gigi's.

We alway take our English Bulldog to get groomed here. She's a sensitive white furred dog, and they always do an amazing job on her. Great service. Won't go anywhere else. Highly recommend!!!!

Fantastic service here and the only place I now go for my grooming needs. They do so well with keeping my 🐕 calm and relaxed even though she hates having her nails trimmed. Even on my unplanned visits they always remember my dog's name!

You get to know someone when something bad happens and i found out enough with this groomer.I will never take my dog to this groomer again. I gave this groomer a second chance at my most recent Pup because all the good reviews. We took our puppy in to get groomed and said to cut under the ears short because she gets matted behind the ears. They shaved the dog completely down. When I called back they said that they were busy and she was matted all over her back and in anger they hung up on me to later call back and give me attitude and told me I know nothing. I owned a Bichon Frise who was an award winner that we flew across the country so I know what I am talking about. I know that she was not matted at all on her back. I know they rushed though and wanted to get to the next dog and collect our $65 for a 35lb dog. Never again and hope this helps others who want attention to their dog rather than a rush job.

This place is extremely disappointing. After receiving a grooming session here at Gigi's Pet Salon, this poor puppy left the salon with a bare swollen tail, which was later diagnosed as a sprain tail after a veterinary exam. The groomer did not personally address the issue at time of pick-up and required payment prior to seeing the puppy. The groomer did not take responsibility for his actions and blames it on the puppy for "moving a certain way."Bottom line: Do not come here. Groomer is irresponsible and unprofessional. It is not a safe environment for your pets.

I went to Gigi's after reviewing the reviews. I called and inquired about the grooming of three dogs, all under 9lbs (5lbs, 7lbs, and 9lbs). I was told that for wash, cut, ear cleaning, rear end cleaning, teeth cleaning that the total for each dog because of their size was $35/dog. I drove from Chicago to Downers Grove based on those representations.The reviews made it appear that the host would be very friendly and great with timid dogs. I did not find that at all. The guy at the front took the dogs, was kind of pulling them by their leashes back. They were afraid and he didn't take any bit of time to interact and warm them up as it appeared they would based on prior reviews. One girl from the back came out and they just picked them up and carried them back.I was specific that I wanted the dogs to have a short hair cut for the dogs. I usually cut there hair so its already fairly short but was looking for a nice overall hair cut to even it out around the body, face and legs. One dog was done great. The young lady that cut his hair was sweet. I could hear her talking gently to him. I thought she did great. The other two dogs were not cut how I wanted. I asked it they could cut around their face like they did with the one dog and he said no because they were scared. These are not dogs that would nip or be violent but they were a bit scared. They don't love it but they will sit there nicely for a hair cut based on my own experience, including the one dog that had his hair cut correctly. There's no reason the work couldn't be done. I've cut there hair a number of times. They don't fight you so there is no reason why I would go to a professional place and get the same job done that I would have done. I felt it was sloppy quick work just to get paid and get them out. On top of that, he charged me $50 per dog after I was initially quoted at $35 per dog.I went here rather than to Petco because it was a good price for three dogs and based on the reviews I thought this place would be gentle with the dogs and have patience to warm them up to the hair cut. There is no incentive to ever go back. If I am looking for a place to take the dog, cut their hair quickly without effort in warming the dog up, I would just go to Petco and at Petco I have and would actually get a better haircut on the dog and it be cheaper then what I paid per dog at GiGi's. The host at Gigi's was not terribly friendly. Except for one lady, they seemed to care less about warming the dogs up, the hair cuts (except for one) was amateur and the price was way too high for the size of the dogs. I would not be returning.I found it to be in some respects unprofessional. While I was sitting there a older gentleman dropped off his large golden doodle (beautiful dog). The guy told him that the body of the dog was done fine the last time but he did not like how they cut the base of the tail and he did not want them to do that again. The male host told him they needed to cut the entire tail because it was matted. The dog owner asked him to just leave it that he didn't like the tail cut, he liked how it was. There was a slight exchange regarding cutting vs. not cutting the tail. The dog owner gave in and told them to cut it. When that gentleman left, the male host said to me "I love how people come here two months later saying they want to keep the tail long but they don't brush it." He was clearly irritated by the exchange. I thought the way he interacted with the dog owner was condescending and very unprofessional to make such a comment to a new customer about an existing and returning customer. In no way did it seem like that dog was anything but well taken care of.I am not sure if these are new owners but what I experienced did not reflect any of the reviews I saw in 2015.

I love gigi's! They are very good with my pom and my pom really does not like to be groomed. She always comes back so cute with her sweet little bows and kerchief. I used to go to Groomingdales but will never go there again!

I just was looking for something else and bumped into this website and I forgot that I took my dog here when they first opened. Grooming on my dog was ok ..nothing great. But the man who owned the salon seemed very shady. He was rude and very curt .He seemed very nervous.Go somewhere else!

took Gilligan to gigi's Saturday and we got the best cut ever!!! they treated Gilligan well, he looked great and we still love his cut; I strongly recommend this shop; it was happenstance that we found gigi's but I will continue to go to them while we are in town!!!

I rarely post negative reviews but this was beyond letting it slide. For only $19.99 you can have your puppy missing a tail! For an extra $5.00 you can have it crying in pain. Just ask for the manager special which is total ignorance!Wish your customers can see the pictures, it’s disgusting.

Careless and irresponsible. Horrible customer service by part of the staff, especially the manager. They really don’t care about your pet or your concerns. That’s all there is to it. Don’t take your pet here. I could go into detail about my personal experience but there are so many things wrong with what was done and what was said to me when looking for answers that it was ridiculous. Summarized?: mitigation, lack of manners, and absolutely no professionalism. Save yourself the time, money, and anger. Don’t go here.

I've been taking my three australian shepherds (12, 13, 15) here for a while now and have been pleased with the way they come out. The only one who seems to get stressed is my 15 year old--understandable as she is mostly deaf, doesn't see well, has some dementia, and is quite fragile now.

The staff was very friendly and they did such a quick job even though I didn’t make an appointment and just walked in. I was in and out with my kitty in no time! They also offer reasonable prices compared to all other local grooming salons.
