2 years ago I purchased a finished EB from Sur le Delavan Kennel. Clint was extremely helpful to me getting to know the breed and teaching me how to handle my dog. Along the way I have been impressed with Clint's unwavering commitment to promote the breed and uphold breeding standards to insure his kennel is producing high quality dogs year in and year out. In April of this year we purchased our second EB from Sur le Delavan Kennel, a puppy and we are thrilled with his progress so far and can't wait to see him grow into the future. Sur le Delavan Kennel is the Gold Standard and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a great family dog that is fierce in the field.

Sur le Delavan Kennel is outstanding! I had spoken with many breeders when looking to purchase my last pup and after a short conversation with Clint I knew I had the right breeder and trainer. I recently purchased a puppy from Clint and Suzanne LaFary and Sur Le Delavan Kennel and my experience has been nothing short of fantastic! Clint provided updates on the puppies and their progress until the day I picked my puppy up. It is very easy to see that Clint is very passionate about the EB breed as well as the dogs that he produces. As far as the dogs that Sur Le Delavan Kennel produces, the are top notch! Clint and Suzanne really care about developing great bloodlines. Our puppy now 1 year old and he has fantastic bird instincts, has done really well with his training, and has a wonderful personality. Great family pet as well as turning into a fantastic bird dog. We also really like the way Clint and Suzanne socialize the puppies when they are young, so by the time we picked up Luca at 8 weeks of age he had already spent a lot of time with the family. We are planning on getting a second puppy from Sur le Delavan kennels later this year. .

I purchased a puppy from Clint and Suzanne in Dec of 2015. Clint is a very conscientious breeder producing excellent quality French Britts with beautiful conformation, outstanding hunting abilities, a strong desire to retrieve, and loving personalities. His puppies are healthy and well socialized with both adults and children. Clint is extremely knowledgeable about the breed and in training upland bird dogs. He wants you and your puppy to succeed and makes a real effort for you to do so. The seller/ purchaser relationship doesn’t end when you walk out the door with your puppy. My puppy Ziva and I have attended Clint’s “training days” and both of us have learned A LOT! If you are looking for a small pointing bird dog and a bright canine companion in the house, definitely consider a French Brittany and definitely purchase from Clint LaFary.

Clint has been there to answer all my questions ahead of time to make me comfortable. The bloodline used for his breeding program is nothing but spectacular. I have known Clint for a number of years. He is dedicated to breeding a solid line of Epagneul Breton gundogs. The temperament of his line is always considered in breeding and each of his dogs have wonderful and pleasing dispositions. In the field, I have had the extreme pleasure of judging most if not all of his current adult dogs in UKC field trial competition. To the dog, the passion, drive and willingness to perform at the highest level is always present. It is a reflection of excellent DNA combined with early bird exposure and training.

I purchased a pup from Clint almost two years ago and wanted to update my review. My family could not be happier with "Topanga", who has proven herself in the field, in the home and in the testing circuit. While my dog's success in testing is the result of a dedicated training curriculum, time, LOADS of birds and a back off jack that looks like a sheep (long story), it would not be possible if the dog did not possess the right genetics to hunt and the desire/intelligence to accept more complicated aspects of training. The reason Clint's dogs and pups are so good is because he has logged in hundreds of hours on the road testing and hunting. While doing so, he has gained experience, recognized areas for improvement and bred his dogs accordingly. Recently, I had an issue with a member of the CEB, complained about it and it seemed like everyone I talked to looked the other way. I even told a few people to f*** off because as the matter was so political. Clint was the only one who took an interest but I would not let him get involved because this is part of his lively hood. It says allot about his character. Nowadays, everyone with a GUN title is breeding EB's and considers themselves an expert. Clint is the true expert in breeding/ training EB's and he does it for a very affordable price. I recommend Sur Le Delavan to everyone interested in an EB pup or pointing dog training

While I didn't get my pup from Clint (because he was sold out for the next year!), he did train my boy. His breeding stock is some of the finest I have ever seen, and he maintains that quality by remaining small and focused on the best breeding possible. His dogs are crafted, not bred.As for training - Clint had my dog, Jager, for 5-1/2 weeks at ago 10 months. On picking him up, he heeled like he was on rails, came when called, and his desire to hunt and retrieve was outstanding. While the retrieving is a work in progress (as for many pointers), he is steady to point like a rock, honors like a statue, and shows no fear in the weeds. On steady to wing? Well he was, but my poor followup has allowed that skill to wain a little. I am working on that this Summer under his careful and watchful coaching.Jager is my third dog, and I have worked with several trainers and breeders over the years (and seen the results of their efforts). Clint is by far the most conscientious and careful trainer/breeder I have met. He has a gentle but firm way with his dogs building their skills and confidence in the best way possible.I could not recommend his kennel more. I am sure is a better kennel/trainer somewhere, but I have found the right guy and the results have been terrific.

I have two dogs from Sur le Delavan. First is HUNT Jolie Sur le Delavan TAN, second is La Joie de Sur le Delavan TAN, both dogs are dynamite bird finders with the sweetest personality. Jolie is my favorite dog I've owned in my life and has earned her HUNT title in her first trial season. La Joie is a bird finding machine with beautiful confirmation. Clint has helped my wife and I become semi successful trainers and handlers out of the love for the breed and the desire to see us be successful. Highly recommend the LaFary family and Sur le Delavan kennel as a strong consideration for your French Brittany puppy or dog training needs.

GRCHF CH Gallant Thor Sur Le Delavan TAN came to our family as a puppy and has excelled in the field. He has earned his grand champion of the field title and his champion of the show titles at 3 years old. Thor had a close call at 8 months old when he and his 6 month old girlfriend ran away from home. We found Thor and Harriett 8 days later. He had been hit by a vehicle and his front leg was shattered. A surgeon in Dothan Alabama was able to fix him up and with a plate and 14 screws in his leg Thor almost won best of show but he had a limp that cost him the win. We had the plate removed and Thor healed up good as new and has never looked back. He has hunted birds all over the US including ruff grouse, huns, prairie chicken, pheasant, woodcock, and so on. He has 8 open class wins on wild birds, liberated birds in solo and couples. Thank you for producing our dog. Not only can he hunt, field trial and show but he is an excellent house pet and our family truly loves him as part of our family.

Sur Le Delavan Kennels raises some of the best Epagneul Bretons (French Brittanies in the U. S. All of the breeding stock has amassed titles in UKC Shows and Field trials. Only one female out of the entire breeding stock has yet to achieve her Grand Champion of the Field title. All others in the breeding stock are Grand Champions of the Field.
