Everyone here is so wonderful! Dr. Z is the best veterinarian I have ever had for my babies. Our whole family adores her and this practice. They are incredibly kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. They are also very fair on pricing and always doing their best to keep the costs down. They form a personal attachments and relationships with the animals they care for, and it is obvious each time we go there. I would highly recommend this veterinary center to anyone looking for a compassionate and genuine environment and the best possible experience for their pet. I can’t imagine going anywhere else now!

I’ve been trying to think of the perfect review to write for what is truly a perfect clinic. The respect they give to their clients and patients is only surpassed by the absolute love they exude for the animals they see. The care our animals receive is truly above all other clinics we have ever been to. In the almost two years of going here, we have only gained further respect and adoration for the doctors, techs and front staff. If you want to feel assured your fuzzy loved ones are getting the best possible care, this is your place.

EDIT: Updating my 2 star to 1 star.I went to a different vet that cares and is more experienced. At the emergency visit the vet immediately was thorough and noticed my senior dog had a heart murmur and allergies. They provided such thorough thoughtful care that it was shocking how much of a difference it was compared to the treatment my dog and I experienced at Deerfield Animal Care Center. If you want subpar, rude care that will cost you a lot of money I would recommend going to Deerfield Animal Care Center.Okay Vet. There’s better ones in the area.Front desk staff lack training and either lack clarity or are standoffish.Last time I had brought my senior dog and they barely looked at him and waved off concerns I had when my dog was clearly bleeding with cysts. I’d asked the vet questions regarding pet insurance claims and she was dismissive and rude. She then prescribed a medicated shampoo and did not leave a note on the bill which was later rejected by my pet insurance when I had tried to file a claim. The shampoo did not help my dog and the whole experience was not pleasant.This hospital seems to love to send emails and text incessantly. I get at least a dozen a week with multiple text messages that I don’t recall even signing up for. Annoying.Fast forward to recently my senior dog was having urinary problems and I had called to make an appointment. The vet had stated that Monday there was a lot of availability.15 minutes before my appointment I had called because I was running late and the front desk staff was not accommodating in any way and put me on hold only to tell me that I had to pay a late fee or cancel my appointment and “reschedule as a walk in.”I’d rather pay that extra money to go to a different, caring vet in the area with friendly, trained, competent staff.

I’ve never been happier with my veterinary care! My pup Bee is a 10-year-old, 78lb nervous boy. Dr. Zebold and DACC staff have treated him with nothing but patience, kindness, and professionalism. Transparency of his care and discussion of my options have always been exhibited. I wouldn’t take my fur baby anywhere else. 100/10 recommend to any and all.

I cannot give enough stars for the ongoing treatment of our dog Stella. We were on a wellness plan and it was great and the best investment possible.Unfortunately Stella got very sick and we were at Deerfield Animal care center a few times a week.Dr. Barron was our main vet and her caring, thoughtful and extremely thorough attention gave us the comfort we needed.Unfortunately Stella had to cross the rainbow bridge, but Dr. Barron was not only her Doctor, but her advocate, her friend and provided us the help and loving care we so badly needed.I can’t recommend DACC enough and especially Dr. Barron.are the highest I could ever express.Our thanks and appreciation are reflected in this review.

We’ve had a relatively okay relationship with this vet for a few years. They’re alright. However, today was horrendous and we felt so bad for our dog we took her to the pet store for a new toy afterwards. She’s terrified at the vet (and they very much know this) but they gave us a very new, very unconfident vet tech to do her shots. We went in knowing how she should get them (facing away with her donut cone on) and he did not know how to do it that way (near her butt) and insisted on trying near her shoulders. She obviously went for him. He then asked US how to give her the shots and I told him he was not going to get them in her shoulders and perhaps he should go find someone else to assist. After some back and forth and forcing her into a muzzle (which only pissed her off more), she ended up getting her shots in exactly the position we initially wanted them done on her butt. What should have been done in 5 minutes took 25 and we were all sweating by the end. There’s no denying she would have been stressed either way but the prolonging experience was ridiculous. Please do better training staff members on how to handle dogs who are not nice at the vet because in the end it’s only the dogs who suffer for their lack of experience.

It was my first time at Deerfield animal care and all of the staff was so knowledgeable and friendly to all our needs of our pet. I highly recomend bringing your pet here. The staff is so incredibly happy and kind. Thank you Deerfield animal care for helping take care of our furr babies needs.

These people are great!! They were so good with my dog and he seemed very unbothered by the check up, shots, and nail trims. Everyone was knowledgeable and very kind. We will definitely be back

Wonderful!! Dr. Staff, are kind and perfect!!My dog went there for surgery last week.Before there, we went another dr office, they couldn't handle and sent ER for surgery, but price is $7000. So we couldn't surgery, and next day we found good place and Dr. There service and price wonderful. I strongly recommend this office !!! 10 star ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Here is our favorite vet! We have two dogs and we used to go to another vet in the city. Lucky we found Deerfield. Appointments are easy to make and the doctors and staffs are super friendly. When we board, they send us daily photos and updates of our pups which helps us know they are doing well (the picture is one they recently sent us during their stay). Definitely recommend here!

I am so elated that we came upon Deerfield Animal Care Center!!! Dr. Nick Sterner is THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! We have 3 dogs: Ages 10 months, 5 years, and 16 yrs old!! And he knows everything, the perfect ways to treat them, and all with just the right amount of TLC!! Their prices beat any other place we had taken our pets to, but the care and attention is why we stay. Dr. Sterner explains everything to you in detail so you know what is going on, what will be done, what you will be charged for, & what it will cost you. They allow you to be right there during the entire visit to comfort your little (or big) ones. Dr. Nick is very sociable and easy to talk to, as well as all the office staff. They are all nice, helpful, and easy to interact and have a laugh with. They are supportive of me and my 3 little guys and I always look forward to a visit to Deerfield!! My maltipoo, Ryder, was put under for a much needed teeth cleaning, that I found out was close to being much overdue! Teeth came out pearly white! Our Havanese pup, Denver, received all of his vaccines, boosters, antibiotics when needed, and upon taking him in to get fixed, just prior to taking him back, Dr. Nick looked at a bump on his belly that I found and discovered there was a hernia and that it would be best, and cheaper to fix both while he was under that day. He healed up wonderfully, and no sign of the hernia since! And our old man, Buddy, snagged a nail that had to be completely pulled. It was not fun, it was not pretty, but we got the job done, wrapped him up, got him pain meds on board, and antibiotics to prevent infection. The nail has already grown back in.These vets and techs know what they're doing, and love what they do! This place it #1 !!!

My cat was putted asleep after he got FIP after this facility visit and they did not even delete him in data base keep sending me messages about his follow ups. If you want your cat to get virus and get sick this is number one to go to!

CAT OWNERS READ!!!I brought my cat in for the first time to this vet. He is usually very calm and playful. After this trip he is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT; and I don't even blame him. The vet tech wouldn't let me go with my kitty into the examination room, the only clinic that I have experienced this in. Apparently, he was being so aggressive that they had to cage him and "hold him down". I personally have a problem with caging my cat and the fact that they did not warn me about this was a big issue. They were very nontransparent as I had no idea what they were doing in the examination room. After the examination, I had questions I wanted to ask but the vet told me they did not have time to answer my questions as they were busy. While I understand time constraints, I have been to other vets and I have NEVER had this problem. Now my cat is terrified of his carrier and is whining like crazy, which never happened before going here.TO ALL CAT OWNERS: IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR KITTY, SAVE YOUR TIME, MONEY, AND TROUBLES AND GO ELSEWHERE!

I brought my cat in for her annual checkup and she was experiencing diarrhea. They gave her medicine and told me to come back next week for vaccines and assured me I wouldn’t have to pay another exam fee. When I brought her back the following week, they took her out of the room to “the back” like they ALWAYS do and it turns out: they put her in a cage! They were clipping dogs nails as they left her in a cage without telling me! Once they tried to get her out of the cage, she was so scared that she started hissing and basically screaming. We heard her from the exam room and thought there was no way that could be her when they were only supposed to give vaccines? The doctor comes in and shares how “mean” and “awful” she and cats are and I should sedate her. He said (word for word) “she was turning purple from us trying to restrain her”. What was happening?! Why do they always take her to “the back”?! He said they couldn’t examine her due to her aggression. I didn’t even know why he tried to examine her. However, she’s brought back in the room breathing very heavy and shaking. I’d never seen her like this. To top it all off, they charged me again for the exam they said they couldn’t do and the week prior they said they wouldn’t do.

Waited an hour in a room for a booster vaccine. When I went out to ask, no one was at the front desk. Vets are OK, even good, but the support staff is lacking in professionalism and basic knowledge.While their service and care was initially good, it has deteriorated. I have owned several dogs my life of sixty years; I do not recommend this vet.There are other vets in the area.

I don’t usually write reviews however I felt compelled to write one about Charlie, the dog trainer who works with Deerfield animal hospital. I have a young golden doodle puppy who was very timid. Charlie works with him and he has regained his confidence. She does a wonderful job making the class interesting and fun. Charlie incorporates games into the training exercises. Each class she hands out a flyer with educational information and homework. I would definitely recommend Charlie as a trainer. She also does private lessons and I intend to continue my puppies training with her in the future. She is truly a “dog whisperer”

I followed Dr. Zebold out to Deerfield because of her excellent care for our animals! I can’t say enough positive things. She’s taken care of our animals their entire lives and is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. She is so kind, and gentle and I would highly recommend her service and Deerfield Animal Care Center!

Dr. Zebold is amazing! She is so kind and takes the best care of our pup. She is responsive and always happy to answer any questions I have. All she cares about is that your baby is happy and healthy. I wouldn't want to take Ruby girl to anyone else! Thank you for all you do Dr. Z!

Most of the negative reviews are due to the awful treatment of cats. I hope other cat owners notice this and avoid.Each time:- Taken to the back- Caged- Hear other dogs crying through the door- Condescending untrustworthy doctors (@ Dr. Berg and Dr. Zebald very rude)Cat owners should stay away. My cat is traumatized and even the new vet took a look at prior test results and shared info that Deerfield Animal Care Center “missed”. Awful.

The first time I picked up my dog from Deerfield Animal Care Center she was clean and happy so we took her there again I called at 3:55 on a Saturday and I asked to see how my dog was doing but sadly the person I spoke too left me listening to music for 10 minutes so I ended up hanging up. Now I have no clue how my dog is doing because now it’s too late too call:( But other than that the staff are very professional and organized when I walked in it’s very clean and put together so other than the call my dog loves it and she come out happy;)

Don’t trust “walk in hours” this is my third time trying. Hard to get an appointment. Seemingly only one vet there at a time. Rare that two are there. The other two times I waited. Today they said 2-6pm and I walked in 215 ish to be told 30-45 minutes and it’s 330 pm. I left. Not reliable on time if you are in a hurry. Dogs back paw issue not resolved. Returning to previous vet not as conveniently located. Have heard great things about these vets from friends otherwise. If you don’t work or have time to be waiting In an examining room then it’s ok.

I have been bringing my dog to Dr.Zebold for 3 years now.. since he was a puppy and I won’t bring him to anyone else. I followed her from her previously location in Elmhurst to the Deerfield location because of the quality care she provides. The first time I walked into the new clinic it was clean and the staff was extremely welcoming. Nothing but great things to say.
