The staff was very nice. The breakfast was amazing, the hotel offered dinner every Wednesday and the dinner was delicious. I would recommend everyone to stay here. It looks like this motel has seen better days. The chair cushions in the hotel lobby didn't look very clean. That's usually not a good sign. The room we stayed in was poorly designed. The door for the bathroom has a strange sliding door with the sink outside the bathroom. The glass door to the shower opened inward toward the shower head which was akward. The alarm clock wouldn't save the time of day, the TV was quite small, and the elevator was dirty and the 3rd floor button was broken. The pool and hot tub were down for maintenance. I forgot my razor and shaving cream. The staff kindly gave me a packet of shaving cream and a cheap disposable razor. Unfortunately, the shaving cream in the packets had dried up over time. Is this what it was like living in the Soviet Union??? It seems like this country is falling apart. However, the free breakfast was nice. An employee named Sharon did a wonderful job of doing two things at once, breakfast attendant and front desk employee. For the price, they should have more employees. In a pinch, this motel served its purpose for us. It gave us two comfortable beds and a nice breakfast. However, there must be cheaper options that are newer, and nicer.

Customer service was horrible. The rooms were disgusting every room you go in the entrance light does not work. I had gotten a room that had mold on the ceiling and all in the air conditioner. Of course I took pictures and video. If you just happen to wake up late and need a 30 minute check out clearance they will not give it to you but they also won’t tell you if you're there at 11:55 they’re going to charge you for another day.Barely have breakfast together and out at the right time it used to be one of the best hotels in Decatur now is just rundown like a motel six. I’m just very disappointed

We are here for work and we have had awful experience here. Spending thousands of dollars here. No smoke detectors in any room. Then tonight the get a whole school and have only one person working. Kids running up and down halls banging on doors. Banging on floors so bad shaking windows and mirror in our room. Been 4 hours straight of this. And all we get is oh well they checking in and we will talk to them and it still continues

Absolutely best customer service. I dont know what others are saying. The customer service was great. Chris helped me get the room i wanted before he got ready to leave. Most people don't even answer the phone if they are leaving in ten minutes. The shower was amazing. The shower has a light and a glass door. The water was hot, and the sprayer was on point.The rooms are big and clean. The breakfast was great. Cheesy eggs, biscuits, and gravy. Waffles. Hunny buns and donuts.

As a child I stayed at this hotel FREQUENTLY to visit family. It was always one of my favorite hotels despite my travels all across the country & the thousands of hotels I’ve stayed in. In the 8 years since I lasted visited, it has completely dive bombed. I’m talking the worst hotel experience of my life. We were assigned a room next to a PARTY where we SAW more than 11 children who were all screaming & sprinting through the hotel. They had clothes on the floor in front of their room & it wreaked of weed (which tbh I normally don’t mind). After walking past that mess to our room, we were upset before even opening our door because THE WHOLE HANDLE WAS BROKEN! The lock inside & out didn’t work. The latch lock was GONE. BUGS EVERYWHERE! Huge cob webs throughout the room, soiled linens, the shower was leaking at a very steady pace despite being off, the light switches didn’t work so we couldn’t turn some of the lights on & couldn’t turn some off, the electrical outlet was hanging partially out of the wall WITH EXPOSED WIRES, the smoke detector was literally gone, huge gashes in the lamp shades, what appeared to be FECAL MATTER ON THE WALL, and holes in the wall. After immediately demanding a new room, our second one wasn’t much better!!! Except this time there was FRESH FREAKING BLOOD ON THE COMFORTER!!!!!!!!!!!! The light switch was again broken, the light in the bathroom didn’t work, the shower was leaking profusely, and the room was disgusting. The area where the mini fridge goes was damaged & there was a huge pile of wood shavings next to it. My parents stayed down the hall & the heating/AC unit didn’t work at all. None of the phones worked in either room. Their lights didn’t work. Their linens were also repulsive. As if it couldn’t get any worse, the AWFUL woman who was running breakfast the next morning was the most horrible human being I’ve had to deal with in a hotel. We arrived at 8am for breakfast, an HOUR before it ends. We asked if more food would be put out & she said “no. And I’m not making more.” After my stepdad speaking up on the matter she proceeded to make only eggs & LOUDLY slam everything down as she did. When she brought the eggs out she tossed them at me & said “HERE’S YOUR EGGS.” before rolling her eyes & storming off. I was baffled that she made a scene in front of my children for a service guaranteed in our stay an hour before the service ended. As if that all wasn’t enough, there’s only room service/cleaning staff onsite 3 days a week. If you need service outside of those days, be prepared to wait forever just for a “clean” towel.The biggest saving grace to this place is the man who was working overnight both nights we were there. He was VERY apologetic & kind. This poor guy was so desperately just trying to do his job & I really felt bad for him. He was nothing but kind & helpful.We will never be back. I was excited to show my children one of my favorite hotels as a child, but instead I had to worry about them coming home with bug bites or something worse. Genuinely could have been some stuff out of a horror movie, it was that bad. I added pictures of the things I remembered to photograph.

Went here year's back as a kid bc our car popped a tire on family vacation and it couldn't be fixed until the next morning. From what i remember, staff and the rooms were incredible, especially for a last minute reservation in a pinch. Still grateful about it. 💕Noteworthy details: Kind when you're in an emergency. Great people there.

Mrs.Sharon showed nothing but good southern hospitality. Went to state and had to leave early. The ladies were so kind to my son by not making him feel bad. The staff is so rude! Hello customer service is supposed to be most important and there were bugs In both beds in the room. I'm assuming bed bugs but I'm not sure. Spiders and ants thru out the room. Mold in the shower area and pool area. This place is disgusting. They said they couldn't switch my room so I just left. Trying to get a refund but apparently I'm a liar

horrible service i arrived late after i prepaid for my room and was dismissed by Sharon who works at the front desk she canceled my room and also would not let me speak. she kicked me out of the hotel after i paid im not sure if it was because of my race or what? but i was very offended and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I thought it was just me but she refused to answer the guest in front of me either. please pick a different hotel. She did not offer me my money back either and i paid for 3 days

If you're looking for a "nice" hotel, keep looking. If you want a relatively cheap place to stay close to the interstate and don't mind rude staff, run down rooms (mine had a broken bath exhaust fan, broken toilet paper holder, broken desk chair), and noise, this may be the place for you!Also: just noticed the yogurt at the breakfast bar is expired BY OVER A MONTH! It's not rocket science.

I LOVED IT! My husband, my toddler and myself needed a place to go as it was our first month here in Illinois. Sharon the assistant manager was absolutely amazing, the manager Chris went out of his way and helped us with a cheaper rate as we were staying for weeks at a time. Housekeeping keeps this place immaculate. Lisa will give you just about anything you need and make sure you have extras .The staff made us feel at home, comfortable while in a difficult situation. They will do just about anything to accommodate any needs you may have. I highly recommend this hotel as opposed to any other in the area I speak from experience because I ve seen just about all of them. The pool and hot tub are always very clean they keep pool towels stocked at all times. The beds are the best part You'll have to lay in one to understand. Great place and even better service! You'll want to stay here again after you leave.

Staff had major attitudes and acted as though you were putting them out. There was a mix-up with payment on their part. I hope that I didn't get charges more than once, but I won't know for a couple of days. There was no pool or spa to be used as it was out of order with no known fix date. The carpets looked very aged, and there was a horrible need for cosmetic repair inside. All that said, it was atleast a place to sleep.

Ants were crawling all over the place and crawling over my children. It was absolutely disgusting. The vending machine took my 10 year Olds money she had earned from chores for the trip. The staff at the front desk were extremely disrespectful to me and my kids. The pool was closed leaving my family sitting in our rooms for the day. There were very loud people blasting their music right outside out window and nothing was done. It blows my mind of the women they hired to tell me that this is what I get for staying at a two star hotel. That was very rude and we WILL NOT be coming back here again. Next time we will just have to stay at the nearest Durey Inn. I am absolutely positive that a one star motel would've been better than this!!

Comfortable place to stay. The staff is very friendly. The continental breakfast was very good. The indoor pool could use a good cleaning. $2 each to wash/dry clothes. The beds we’re comfortable. The towels and wash rags are very nice!

Housekeeping in the morning is ridiculous. They will knock and wake your kids up knowing you plan to check out that day, so there is no reason they can’t wait until you leave. It’s like they’re trying to rush you out of the hotel so they can get their job done faster. Yet, they stand around in the hall talking on the phone and to each other very loudly in the morning, gossiping & not cleaning anything. And the air conditioners are humid and full of mold/mildew. The carpets are filthy & sticky to the point you have to walk around your room with shoes on. It’s an “ok” hotel, especially compared to others in the area that are much worse.

I was very impressed with this location. From all the front desk folks to the house cleaning. Great spacious room, very comfortable bed, clean, clean, clean. Complementary breakfast, indoor pool and hot tub. I was there 5 days, broke down while my truck was in the shop. I had a lot of refrigerator food, my rooms refrigerator stopped, and they upgraded me to a suite, being that's all they had left. It was awesome, 2 burner stove, dishwasher, couch, pots and pans, dishes and silverware. Worked out great to cook some food. Awesome.

This was our first the in Illinois and at a Sleep In hotel. And I must say it was beyond what a normal stay was first off the rooms were very clean and roomy. Hats off to housekeeping Ms. Lisa and Ms. Ashley I truly thank you. Next up the amazing staff at front desk I felt like family to them...Hats off to Sharon ,Beth and Chris my dog passed away during our stay and they were beyond caring ...Love you guys

Stayed this past weekend for a special trip home, the hotel came recommended but not sure why unless things have seriously changed in the last few months. The duvet on the bed was stained in many areas, curtains had cigarette burns in multiple places. But the worst was the hot tub and pool. After driving over night all I wanted was to relax in the hot tub, but I wouldn't have given a dog a bath in it. The water(what little water that was in ot) was so dark and dirty that it had a smell to it. I also called down for a 4:30 am wake-up call but never did receive it. The only saving grace was Sharon at the front desk, she was very helpful and even got me checked in early.

Nice employees, great options for breakfast, and checkout time is 12 pm which is amazing. Only thing is me mostly. I clean for a living so I notice the smallest details, it looks like they do a general clean but nothing too deep, but it's expected from a hotel. definitely cleaner than other places I've stayed
