My niece treated me and my mom to brunch and they were very short staffed, but our server and the manager were amazing in light of the fact that they were doing everything! The food was really good. My niece and I had the pot roast melt and my mom had the patty melt. Mom said it was the best patty melt she’s ever had in a restaurant. My pot roast melt was great! It’s the first time I have had one. Two thumbs up! The staff worked through the being impacted by being short staffed and handled it all with a smile!

Four of us ate here for 63 dollars plus tip. The food was delicious. My turkey dinner with dressing potatoes and green beans was great. The pigs in a blanket my grandson ordered was also delicious. These 2 meals are pictured here.The other 2 meals were a pancakes and sausage from the 55+ menu and a huge salad.Perkins was crowded, but there was still a seat when we entered.Come on in.

On weekends, we take a break from me cooking at home and dine in at a restaurant. Tonight we chose Perkins. My first time here. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We got there 15 min before close. Google hours are not accurate since COVID-19. My youngest ordered a burger and her fries came on the side. Husband had breakfast and since i trained for a half marathon i naturally choose healthier options and had fish. Food is good. The kids received cookies with their meal and the hubs and i took a pie to go. Their pies are really good. Typical wait time for food to be served. Asked my kiddos if they would like to come back and they all agreed with a yes. So this speaks for itself. If kids will eat, it is always a plus in my book 😅.

On arrival, we waited for about 8 minutes to be seated. That gave us time to read the flyers on the wall. Our waitress was very polite and quick with our drinks and food. I could have gone without being told by another waitress, "Black people don't have blue eyes." She was a little over radical. Indeed, African Americans are, in fact, genetic carriers of different eye color shades. Now, the food! I was very pleased with the presentation of our entrée! It looked amazing! Furthermore, the food was way too salty, and they rinsed everything in butter. Our appetizer, the onion rings was the best thing, and second, the broccoli. Everything else was appeasing to look at but a heart clogger. I love to say we will be back for other things on the menu, but unfortunately, we won't. Best of luck.Kid-friendliness: Children eat for free every Tuesday with the purchase of one adult meal from 4pm to 8 pm

We love coming here with family and everyone seems to pick something different each time. The menu is a tasty one and the food always comes warm and very good. The waitresses are always very attentive and quick to take care of any problems. Our favorite place to eat in Decatur.

The hostess was doing full duty with Hosting, Taking Orders, Busing Tables, Delivering Orders and Checking you out when it was time to leave! I didn't catch her name, but she was OUTSTANDING at her jobs and well worth the $10 tip we gave her!!!!! The food was OK, the Chocolate Pie Dessert was Excellent, but the overall smell inside the restaurant had a lot to be desired, to us it smelled like a hot grease smell, very overwhelming where we were sitting.I was the guy in the red/white/blue star hat. Our first time eating there, after a VA Dr Appointment visit, we will be back the next time we are in town. :-)

Horrible experience, I've been in this place many times over the years and it's slowly going down hill and has hit bottom when you can't cook 2 eggs and hash browns and toast without ruin it, the whole plate was covered in oil, when we walked in on Saturday night and only one group of people in the whole place should have told us right then to leave but no we tried anyway, we was the only order they had & they screwed it up, too busy in the kitchen cussing and acting like fools and everyone in the dining room can hear that, I heard the F word 3 times from the kitchen, and then over charge us & when we pointed it out, we had to stand at register while she called up the girl to tell her everything she did wrong in front of the customers. Never again !!

FREE PIE❣️ Yes, Mondays is Free Pie w your meal. Lemon Meringue & Caramel Apple Crunch. *drool worthy* At this writing, masks are optional. This is a skillet, comes w eggs any style n tatertots, and more. 2 choices from a list, he got bacon n cheese. Potato pancakes instead of buttermilk. VERY delicious💖💖💖Dietary restrictions: They can fix whatever you like. Perkins - at the corner of Monroe and Pershing in Decatur - the eatery that Decaturites forgot. I recall a time in the 1980s and 1990s, where they were brewing coffee by the traincar full, and serving up heaping helpings 24 hrs a day, including that all important late night feast. For those of us of a certain age, we have great memories of this place.On this evening...8pm..I was the lone diner.I had the Hearty Man's combo with 2ea eggs scrambled, 2ea slices Applewoood smoked bacon, 2ea sausage links, and a smoked sausage, three panckes with butter and syrup, with hash browns and a personal pot of coffee.All delicious and great service from waitress Tara.
