This location has had a remodeling and seemed like it was going in the right direction However I have been here twice in the last couple weeks and I see this same sign drawn on a piece of construction paper that says sorry hours may vary as we are short staffed while the website still says open ruining may plans for the day but hey thanks guys for keeping the public informed

I like to browse some days. Most prices are consistent here so we know what to expect when making a list.Like to card shop different Dollar Generals for fun and different greetings for others.I shop for postage stamps that match a theme or occasion. Its a win-win project.

I have repeatedly come into this location and the employees aren’t properly trained for their job. They perform additional services like adding cash to different online entities but the employees answer with “we don’t do that here” because their manager has instructed them to say this when asked. The fact is, they do do that there and are just not trained to do so. I am a repeat customer spending 1000’s of dollars a year at this specific location. Andwhen faced with this answer I have to drive at least 10 miles to another location to have this done. I have had this happen 4 times at the cowden location which has resulted in about a half of a tank of gas which in turn irks the hell out of me. I worked as a retail store manager for 20 yrs in major metropolitan areas and this absolutely wouldn’t have been tolerated in any of my stores. From furniture to jewelry to clothing, my employees would’ve been reprimanded as a result of this. But, the bottom line is this, the employees are only as good as the manager that leads them.

No matter what I eat at Joe's, it it always hot and delicious. There stuffed shells are amazing and the blue cheese salad dressing is Sooo good. They have the best pizza around.

Staff was nice enough to help me find what I needed, but no one was there to check me out, so I had to use self-check....I hate self-check. Never works right (or I don't know how to use it), and I always need help.

The employees are very welcoming and helpful there. The store is right by the interstate, making it easy for truckers to have access to a store to get essentials. I was very satisfied with the cleanliness of this store.

We always go here for late night munchies or when we just need to get some things for dinner instead of going all the way back to Shelbyville or Effingham. But it is soooo awkward at the cash register because they don't even say hello to you and they barely say the total after they scan everything.
