The Iron Whisk has been on our bucket list of places to try. It did not disappoint. Our waitress was amazing. She went over several different menu options with us. I decided on the Loaded Bowl with scrambled eggs, bacon, smashed potatoes, the best sausage gravy and a biscuit. It was the best breakfast food we have had here in Southern IL. Everything was delicious, great presentation. They have a wide variety on the menu something for everyone. Definitely looking forward to going back and trying some of their other menu items.

This was my third time going here with one other person, and it's been a wonderful experience every time! I got these the first time and have been in love ever since. The lemon Blueberry Dutch baby is perfect, and I'm obsessed with the baby Benny Dutch baby. Each time I've gone has been around 9:30-10am and luckily I've been sat down immediately. The staff has always been so nice and I love the atmosphere!

Went to the Iron whisk on a Sunday. We went early got there about 920 and waited an hour. We knew ahead of time we would have to wait and we were good with that. The Iron Whisk is very small I think there was a total of 13 tables. I had the train wreck breakfast sandwich and my husband had the wake n bacon. Both were so good. Even tho we had to wait awhile we said we would definitely go back. If you plan on going to the Iron whisk check out their website as it tells you to expect a long wait and they don't split checks.

SIMPLY FANTASTIC! The food and atmosphere were amazing. The service was a little slow but they were packed so that is to be expected, but rightfully so! The food was among the best breakfast food I have ever had and the coffee unmatched! We will be back!

Wonderful little Bistro with food made from scratch. it's a small place so unless you get there early you will have a wait, but do not let it detour you the food is wonderful. I ordered the dutch blueberry with wonderful fresh blueberry compote and lemon curd so light and refreshing. My hubby ordered one of the breakfast bowls and asked if they could add the sliced serloin into his bowl and they were kind enough to oblige. Highly recommend The Iron Whisk for some great food.

We had a short wait to be seated, but the place is small so it can be expected. Once seated, our server came right away and was very friendly. Cool decor and an upbeat vibe is how I would describe it. The food was exceptional and came quickly. The drinks were great and the whole experience was fun and allowed us all to enjoy each others company over some wonderful food. It was our first visit, but it will not be our last.

We had a wonderful brunch here and will return often! Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They are a huge supporter of local farms for their raw ingredients and a great asset to the southern Illinois community!Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere for kidsWheelchair accessibility: Ground floor with no stairs.

I had a delicious birthday brunch here! I was initially a little bummed that they were out of lox but that pushed me to try something new. I enjoyed the Cheese Louise! The lemon blueberry Dutch baby was also delicious. We came in on Sunday afternoon and that wait was a little less than an hour. The antique shop next door was the perfect place to shop while we waited for our table to be ready. We will definitely be back!

Hard to put into words what I just experienced here... Amazing??!!?? Unreal!!??!! Those words to me just don't seem to cut it when it comes to The Iron Whisk. The nostalgia of this location is incredible. They have done a beautiful job of decorating, and utilizing the space to fit in as many tables as possible, and yet it doesn't seem to be crowded even with a full house.I personally had the "Benny Bowl" and my girlfriend had the "Dutch Benny", both of which were delicious and cooked perfectly as ordered. Adding the tomato and avacado on top was well worth the extra few bucks, as it brings out some wonderful flavors otherwise missed. We paired this with a carafe of mimosa's that were on point! I know this is saying a lot, but it was the best breakfast I've personally ever had. That isn't the champagne talking either. Hands down... The best. The staff was polite, fun, and seemed to work well as a team. Getting tables cleaned, put together for larger groups of diners, and then broken apart again for groups of four or less was done with precision and quickness.Do yourself a huge favor and get yourself to The Iron Whisk ASAP. I would suggest getting there a little earlier than you would expect on a weekend, as there will most likely be a wait time, but it seems that about 15/20 min is standard, but expect a few more minutes if your eating with a bigger group.Thank you to the owner and staff for a wonderful Sunday breakfast, and we look forward to coming back really soon. :)

Is it good enough to drive to Cobden to experience, my answer is yes. Essentially a brunch restaurant with slightly different twist to meals. Only disappointment, I was too early for a Bloody Mary as alcohol is not served until 10 AM on Sunday

**EDIT**We didn't make it back again last time. 🙁 However, my wife has talked about wanting to eat the Trainwreck sandwich again almost weekly since my last review. So I planned for her birthday a weekend getaway (9/17/22 & 9/18/22) to Cobden just so we could go to this restaurant and have the added perk of great hiking too. The food and service was just as we remembered - absolutely amazing! We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided we had to eat breakfast here on Saturday AND Sunday. I failed to take photos last time, and this time the only photo I managed to take before I dug in was of my Bagel and Lox breakfast.FIRST REVIEW:I haven't even left the restaurant yet and felt the need to leave a review. This place was quite the discovery by my wife and I while here in Southern IL. Completely different than what we were expecting... in a good way! This place is downright amazing. Somehow the basic wheat toast hit way differently sober than any café I have been to at 2am after a night out with my buddies. If you're in the area I cannot recommend this place enough. We're here for only a few days and we will be back! The wife just finished the Trainwreck sandwich and she's already planning out how she will have it again for breakfast tomorrow.

What a gem, hidden along the long route from down south up yonder. It's very small, seating-wise.Food was delicious, with all the gluten-free options you could ask for. The bloody mary with smoked tomatoes is good, but I regretted not getting the cranberry tequila concoction.Fat sandwich on gluten free bread - unlike Udi's, their bun was the perfect size, perfect texture and density, so good! We will def be stopping every time we drive that way.

What a treasure! This tiny place is worth the wait. The staff is kind, the coffee is locally roasted, and the food is exceptional. The biscuits and gravy were the best we've ever had. The bloody mary was smoky and perfect (and I usually only like Zing Zang bloody marys). I wish I could have tried more of the options. Another time, I guess.

Awesome food and drinks! I always get the Lemon Blueberry Dutch Baby but everything else looks great too! There's always fun new options on the chalk board too. It is cash only but there's an atm across the street if you happen to forget!

This great breakfast spot in Southern Illinois is definitely a must stop if you're looking delicious made from scratch cooking. The bloody mary is perfect for brunch, they smoke the tomato before blending it, you can also buy q premix of it to go. They also have mimosas if you're looking for something lighter. We had the lemon blueberry Dutch baby, which is what they're famous for and it was really. I had the Benny bowl, a mix of breakfast potatoes, eggs, ham and hollandaise sauce, it was filling and I still had plenty for my to go box. If you're ever in Southern Illinois and looking for a nice breakfast spot, this is the place.
