I loved this place. Cute resident "store" cats that greeted us in the front of the store which I absolutely loved! They were so friendly and for an extreme animal lover, like me, that was awesome. The store has a good layout, "Grumpy", the cat, was sleeping in one of the cat trees so I pretty much spent 20 minutes petting him before buying a cat brush.

Got two finches there and the female was healthy but the male was not. I decided to buy him too cuz he looked so bad and I wanted to give him a better life. He was balding on his head from being picked on by the others,cuts on his head and cheek, his eye was messed up and had a pink skin thing by it. When I brought him home he was happier than ever. He was eating and drinking and being normal and even started tweeting. I know I gave them money but the animals life mattered first.They had their dogs running around,cats wandering around ( they were sleeping so it wasn’t a problem),couldn’t even see the fish cuz the tanks had no light on,20-30 medium sized rats in one tank and had no room to lay in the hide. So please don’t go here unless you want a sick or hurt animal that is overpriced. They also had two people working so when I needed assistance, I was talked to with an attitude because she was in the middle of something when I needed her help (literally customers come first). I will never buy/go here again. This place should not sell animals because they don’t know how to care for the ones they are selling

I have been getting my pet supplies and pets from Dee Dee's for several years now. The staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable. The store is always clean and pleasing. They have every possible thing you could need or want and if they don't have it, they will order it for you. Extremely professional!!! I highly recommend Dee Dee's Pet Palace for all your pet needs.

I absolutely love this shop!!!! The owner and her people are amazing and caring.people. There's nothing I go into Dee's Pet Palace that I can't find or they make sure I get what I'm looking for !!! My pup is my angel and so are they. This is a one stop shop that will always be there when you need anything for your pets. As I said....AMAZING ...Go there, you won't be sorry you did!!!! Was very surprised about this place. Usually small shops are dirty and smell. The place was overall pretty clean. The only reason it it's not higher is because an employee came out of the back office and had been smoking in there. She left the door open and all the smell came out.

I was excited at the fact that there was a non-chain pet store near me, but stepping foot in here was honestly a mistake. They had the biggest rabbit i've ever seen, in a cage that wasn't even suitable for a hamster, their fish tanks had no lighting, and we're overstocked to hell. The puppies were kept in glass tanks? and their Betta fish were kept in tiny tiny bowls with blue water. Honestly i'd prefer buying from a petco than this place. Don't open a pet store if you aren't going to give your animals proper care. The staff was nice, but that was really the only nice thing about it.

The good reviews have to come from friends. If I could give no stars I would. The animals enclosures are disgusting. I didn't see 1 single clean cage. They had been open for a few hours. There is no excuse for it. Especially when one employee was just looking at something on the counter and the other employee was just standing there twirling the string on her hoodie. Both seemed very put out when I asked for the price of something. Birds had broken feathers and one had plucked its feathers out. Appauling and disgusting place.

This is by far the best place I have been they have great staff they are freindly and the budget is just right. I will be using this pet store again. The area is perfect size and it actually don't smell like a pet store it it smelled clean thank you for the great service.

Cages were all dirty tons of dead fish floating in the tanks and the two people working there were doing nothing about cleaning them it had definitely been more than a day or two worth of not cleaning and to have all the dead animals does not make me want to buy from them. Clean up after the animals in your care...

I got the cutest little puppy here. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed all the cats that hang around the shop. Will definitely be going here for my pet needs.

All of these 4 and 5 star reviews are fake as hell put on here by friends of the people of the store. This place is by far one of the worse pet shops ive ever been to. Overcrowded, not nearly enough space for the animals (chinchillas are stuffed in very small cages and are so stressed out they are chewing their own hair out) absolutely REEKS of urine and animal feces. A pet shops going to smell like animals of course but it's been some time since the place has been cleaned properly. Purchaced a kitten from this place to get it the hell out of the conditions she was in. Her name was Jynx she had a respiratory infection and had to go to the vet the day after she was out of the store. The owners offered no help at all, they are willingly selling people animals that are sick and they dont care!

If I could give this place a negative 5 stars, I would. On behalf of the half-dead rat I rescued from there, I ask that you do not shop at or support Dee Dee's Pet Palace pet store in Coal City, IL. Not only are their animals in horrible living conditions, but they are in severe need of medical attention as well. I rescued a rat from there 5 days ago (as you read on you will see why I used the word rescued and not bought), and after taking him to the vet the day after, I was informed that he had 3 different types of mites, worms, a GI infection, a UTI, and an infected tail due to 2 small wounds on it that were left unattended. He is currently on 3 different antibiotics, a dewormer, flea/mite preventative, and has an antibiotic cream. I have spent over $100 on saving this little guy's life all because he was neglected by the owner and employees of this pet store. If I had the funds, I would rescue all of the animals in their possession, but with the poor health Ozzy (my rat) was in, I wouldn't be able to afford all of the medical attention they would most likely need. Yes, he may be just a rat, but Dee Dee's also sells kittens, puppies, reptiles, fish, birds, chinchillas, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. I'm willing to bet that a lot of those animals are sick too. So please, do me a favor and do not support this business. All they do is breed sick animals (Ozzy was a breeding rat) and then sell the babies for a profit. And before anybody asks, yes I have contacted law enforcement AND animal control. To my knowledge, animal control is contacting the necessary people to address the situation. I have also sent pictures, to both agencies, that I took while I was there so Dee Dee's can't deny the living conditions that their animals are being kept in.Note:I bought the dirty cage because I had no other way of bringing him home, she gave me it at a discounted price, and the owner was rushing us out the door because she had to close early to be somewhere.The owner and other store employee left soon after I did so there is no way that they could have filled all of the water bottles and food bowls before they left, or even more so, cleaned the cages and aquariums that wreaked of amonia.The store employee did tell me that Ozzy was about a year old and that she didn't know how long he had left, but when I saw him in the poor physical state he was in, I wanted to do what I could to try and save the little guy.Updates:Ozzy has perked up quite a bit now that he has been on his antibiotics (2x/day) for 4 days. He is finally eating again and is drinking a lot more than he was when I first brought him home. Ozzy is a lot more active as well. I bought him quite a few chew toys, but his favorite by far is his mini stuffed animal which he is constantly throwing up in the air or in his food bowl.

Aside from PetSmart it is the biggest pet store I have ever been in. The staff is extremely friendly, there is a wide variety of pets, they have one of the biggest arrays of pet supplies and needs, a lot of toys for both cats and dogs, and some extremely interesting animal treats. It is my favorite place to go to get my dog something new and interesting that I know he will love.

They had the kind of food I was looking for but the animal cages were DIRTY and the animals seemed uncared for, especially the reptiles. Great store to grab quick supplies but not to buy healthy animals from.

I bought a kitten from them about a month ago when I brought her home I realized she was super small and covered in fleas from heard too toe when I took her to the vet they told me she was brought away from her mother to early so I had to get supplements for kittens taken away from there mothers to early

Bought a kitten from this place and it ended up being very sick the owner refuses to do anything to help when the illness was do to filthy cages. She hung up numerous times when I tried to speak to her.
