I inherited a truck from my deceased father that I just wanted to junk. After thinking about it for a while, I decided to get it up and running. I had it towed to Bob's and within a week they had it up and running. Derrick communicated with me every step of the way. It felt like we had been going there for years because of how kind and honest he was. He kept our best interests in mind every step of the way. Everyone there is really amazing! I can't say it enough. Our plan was to get it up and running to get it to another mechanic that we had worked with before, but Derrick really earned our business!!! We're definitely staying with Bob's and if you're looking for somewhere to take your vehicle, I highly recommend this shop! Not only was the customer service amazing, but the price was too!! With everything they did to that truck, me and my husband thought that we were for sure going to dish out over $5k on repairs. We ended up paying a little over $1,100. Now, the truck definitely needs more work on it, but it's running better than before and we couldn't be happier with how much we spent on everything! I'm so happy we found an affordable and honest shop close to home!

This place is amazing!! I love these people. They are incredibly honest and most importantly competent and fair. They don't take advantage of you and explain everything before they begin work. Ok, here's the kicker... They will give you their opinion as to whether the work is worth the expense!! They are definitely not there to rip people off. Here's an example. My mother in law took her car to tire tracks in Joliet to have the car fixed to pass emissions. They charged her over $1000 to fix her car. Then her car failed emissions again and they wanted another $ 800. Bob's found and fixed the problem for much less. Now the car passed emissions.I can't say enough good about this place! Quality work, honesty and integrity. Amazing.

I scheduled an appointment for new wheels/tires, oil change, and alignment. They took slightly longer than I thought, but these things happen and each vehicle is different, so I understand. They answered my many questions, handled everything (even preferred they moved the wheels/tires instead of myself when I offered), and they were always pleasant to deal with throughout the entire experience. I now have another spot I trust my vehicle at, my shop and Bob's!Highly recommended to everyone.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance

They did a wonderful job, not the cheapest but to me you pay for the quality of repair, and for the quality, you won't find many people who can do it for you at a better price. The environment is great and everyone there is extremely nice, and these people know what they're doing and talking about. I had my car towed here after an accident, and every staff member I encountered, from roadside to front desk to car lot, was incredibly respectful and kind. Prices were not bad at all. These people are the best in the business. Extremely honest and helpful. A mechanic shop you can truly trust. It's very clear that they care for their customers. Tim the manager of the shop is who I dealt with the most and he is fantastic. He's very honest and straight forward. You will not be disappointed in the service. They will continue to get all of my business due to the fact that Tim is so great. The technicians are all very knowledgeable and do complete great quality work. This was our first time using Bob’s for auto repairs. From my first call to vehicle pick up Dave and all staff were friendly. They went out of there to make sure my vehicle left in better shape then when I brought it in. Fixed an issue, at no expense to me, for a problem that came up while they serviced my Ruby. I've been going here for almost fifteen years. They service my personal vehicles and all of my business trucks, Tim, Debbie, Bob and the rest of the people there are very accommodating, honest and accountable. I have never felt like they overcharged for any service, in fact a couple times a thought they did not charge enough. They are a very busy place so you must be patient and understand that they are not willing to do shoddy work just to free up a bay. They are usually booked out a week but that is because once people use them, they always come back again and again. They use top notch mechanics which is not easy to find around here. Many of them have been there for quite some time. They have I think 10 or 11 bays? The shop is very nice and clean, so is the waiting room. There's really nothing not to like about the place. But please don't go there! You will only make them more busy lol!!

Tim and Debbie are not too good to be true — they are the real deal. Amazing! We were far from home, visiting a dear friend in Grundy County, and developed car trouble. They made room for us in their packed schedule and got us back on the road. And they were gracious and kind. They could have charged us almost anything, given that we were out-of-towners. I’m a semi truck driver of 13 years and haul anything and everything I can fit onto my trailer yet not having a proper height dock to load my wife’s Mitsubishi Outlander onto my semi trailer I called Bob Advanced Autoyesterday afternoon for some help. He was right on time with his beautifully clean equipment for the job. Everything went perfectly in a matter of minutes. I work with many professional riggers all over the lower 48 states in my business and I would rank Bob among the very best. He’s truly professional and I’d highly recommended him and his company to anyone. Thanks again Bob!! 👍

They forgot to put the shields back underneath my car after looking at the starter and left them in the trunk. Went back a second time to have them put back on, and they left it hanging half way off and left 4 bolts in the bag and tossed it back into my trunk. Now I'm left to figure out how to crawl under the car and put the last bolts on myself and fix the issue.

It was a cold Friday afternoon around 4 pm in January. We were traveling south on I-55 returning home from visiting my new grandson in Oakbrook. In a split second I hit a wooden box in my lane in front of the Exxon / Mobil refinery. My dash light for low tire pressure blinked on and I headed for the shoulder. My car was damaged, and my tire was going flat from a chunk of wood. One of my worst nightmares was coming true, a car breakdown on I-55 with hundreds of 80,000 lb. semis flying by within inches of my car. I called Bob's and asked for help. Within 30 minutes a tow truck came and moved us out of danger and back to the shop in Coal City. Bob's crew changed the tire and inspected the car for damage. It's after 5 pm now and I'm safely driving back to the comforts of home and looking forward to the weekend. Bob's, you guys, are truly life savers!

I don’t usually write reviews. Because I usually don’t have any motive to complain about a business. But I was let down. They killed my battery and said nothing about it. And then tried to charge me around 550 dollars for a job I did in a little less than an hour with little to no mechanical experience. I found the part online for less than 130 dollars. Which means they we’re asking over 400 dollars for an hour of labor. It’s sickening. Please do your research. Use the brains you were given. And save yourself a buck.Service: Car towing

Wow! So I'm heading home, which is a 9 hour drive and just south of Chicago I get a flat tire. I manage to limp my car over to Bob's as it's the closest tire place I can find on short notice.The receptionist lady was so energetic and kind. Bob himself came out and gave my tire a look. They had the tire I needed and got me in right away! When you're driving 9 hours, it's important to not waste anytime.Wonderful experience and they went above and beyond. Thank you!
