I live very close to this jewel. But have to say. Michael is THE MAN and should be head manager of this store. Each time he is working and I see him, not only is his customer service phenomenal, but is a great multitasking person. Very smart man. He should not be at the register. My endorsements go to Michael, Scott, and Brian. I vote for Michael to choose roles and become manager of the store. He admires them as well, and I feel he would be a great team leader.

My experience with this jewel was wonderful. The shelves were stocked to the brim. Store cleanliness and pleasant service were both present. All of my local relatives and friends should visit this shop, in my opinion. Compared to most grocery stores, Jewel is a little more expensive, but the experience is undoubtedly worthwhile. There is no doubt that I will go back!

It was quite lovely to experience this jewel. The shelves were completely stocked to the brim with goods. Both the employees and the store were pleasant. I suggest this shop to any local family members and friends. Although Jewel costs a little more than most grocery stores, the experience is undoubtedly worthwhile. I'll definitely be coming back!

Something needs to be done with this store. I had another incident today 12/2/2023. Ali asked to see my credit card. I showed her my debit card for my purchase of nearly $500.00. She said she had to see it because I bought gift cards? Then she said my card was expired. Mind you Ali was LOUD with all her comments! Then she said my card was declined as I am looking at the register that says APPROVED! Ali then says i need to go to the service desk and I say ok what do i need to bring, i asked Ali twice and she ignored me. Finally she says it was approved. I called to complain and the manager said it was unusual to be asked to see a card. They apologized but I'm sIck of the nonsense at THIS store. I bag my own stuff. I'm ALWAYS pleasant. But this store has the WORST customer service. WHY was I asked to show my card? That seemed a little weird! And an apology is fine but cmon all the money i spend here, i could have been offered a discount, gift card. Get it together!!! And i hope my account info wasn't compromised because none of this made sense, being asked to see my card, then saying it was expired., then declined, then all the sudden approved? Very suspect! I spend hundreds of dollars here montly but that may change very soon! Tina in deli is thee rudest and most disrespectful person I've encountered in years! Her attitude towards me on Sunday afternoon, October 2nd 2022 was disgusting. Tina is a disgruntled employee, many times I've heard her ranting about how she hates her job and manager. Tina is a miserable old woman and you honestly need to think about how many customers she's insulted and if she's worth a drop in revenue! Tina's attitude was unnecessary, and you need to speak with her 2 coworkers that witnessed her rude comments to me and my son. I'm extremely upset and I'm going to find out who I can talk to that will actually take action. This is my 2nd time being insulted by this vulgar woman! Micheal-cashier did make the end of my visit better. He always is pleasant and kind and knows me by name because that's how much I shop there! Tina is rapidly changing my mind of my frequent visits and I'll definitely let my many family members and friends in the area know about this!

I was looking for a product that apparently was moved to the “clearance” section. Not only did the person stop what she was doing to find it, she informed me of what they had left then proceeded to get me the rest of them in the self-checkout line (they were in Aisle 6).Long story short, she went above and beyond to ensure I had a wonderful shopping experience.

We are from California and did not know what to expect. It felt familiar inside. On checkout they asked if I had a member card. I said no we are from California. She said try anyway. It took my Safeway number. Apparently Safeway owns them. So Jewel members _ when you visit California, use your Jewel number to get discounts at Safeway.

Better than the westmont one. The cart kid is kind of a jerk. He blocked me off when I was trying to return a cart and yelled at me to put the cart away but he was blocking the corale and then he nearly hit my car with all of the carts. But other than that, the store is so much better than the others nearby

This location fairly well stocked with staple items, but several items in the sale flyer were out of stock.And, as always with Jewel, check your receipt before you go. Chances are good you were overcharged on at least one item.

Have been shopping at this jewel for over 20 years. It used to be a Great Jewel. Not anymore. Now you stand In Line at the Deli even if you're the only customer. They all keep their backs turned like they don't see you. When they do wait on you they are rude , almost like you're bothering them. In the Produce department the guy stocking gets angry if you take produce from the table he is stocking. The meat department is hit or miss they still have a couple good butchers. Although, while waiting at the meat counter. I have had to call the store and get to the meat department. To get a Butcher to answer the phone, only for him to know its me standing at the counter, trying to get help at the counter. Of course that sets up a poor quality visit right off the start.Then the check out lines are ridiculous with usually 1 or 2 lanes only open. And bagging your groceries seems to be a thing of the past. After running the gauntlet shopping you just give in and bag your own to get out. If you complain..Everyone working is quick to let you know. They don't make decisions they just work there. Not sure what has happened to this Jewel, but they have lost touch with how important the customers are.,... Update to this post a couple weeks later. Had another problem again with the Deli. Nothing is going to changet at this store. For that reason I'm out on Jewel. Will do my business elsewhere with people atleast act like they want to help.

This jewel was a very pleasant experience. The stocks were very high the shelves were full. The staff was friendly and the store was clean. I recommend this store to any family and friends in the area. Jewel is slightly higher in price than most grocery stores but definitely well worth the experience! I will definitely be returning!

Starbucks in Jewel-Osco was friendly and pleasant. Great customer service. Rebecca suggested the London Fogg for me since I don't do caffeine. Instead of soy milk, she used part milk. Rebecca was awesome.

I have been shopping at this location for 20 years but recently have stopped shopping here..the lady's in the deli are terrible..they act like they don't see you standing there..they totally ignore you..the older lady up front is very unfriendly and very crabby..I have started shopping at Woodridge and much better staff and very friendly

Pharmacy very accommodating and helpful. Deli people pleasant and efficient. Shelves pretty well stocked, they had everything on my list. Always love checking out with my favorite cashier, who makes the experience all the better.

Stopped by just before close to buy an anniversary card that I forgot to buy earlier. They have more than one card to choose from. Thank goodness!Ended up buying other items as well..the cashier was friendly and efficient*note: if you go later at night, the self-checkout lines are closed

How does a company just change a tried and true honey wing, that they have been selling for years, and not inform the public? I will tell you. Jewel osco does not care about their customers. If they had to go with a different distributor, then you let the customer know you changed the product. Did Jewel do that? NO, you buy and pay for the honey wings and attempted to eat them and instead threw them out. When you call to question the wings that's when they tell you.Beware people, this is not your Mom and Dads Jewel. Prices are horrible, produce is horrible (does not keep well), and corporate and management do not care about the people. Jewel management short staff their workers because the managers get bonuses for things such as keeping their payroll down. All at the expense of the customer.This has been a process at Jewel for many many years, although now they can blame the pandemic. Wake up people, alot of other stores the prices are cheaper, and they actually care about their customers! Update! Putting those fake responses to the problem does not help anyone. Screw Jewel, I will spend my money elsewhere.

Very Nice place to shop!!! And a Very Friendly STAFF especially in the Pharmacy Dept. We had a good conversation with the Pharmacist Mr. Migleo , who Happy Smiling and Very Smart!! I would recommend that Jewel Osco on 83 and 55th st, to everyone!! Also a special thanks to their Deli Dept., Friendly and Helpful, and they were able to help me with my order!! `I've been visiting/buying at this store twice a week for many years and it became to my must go place for grocery but the last visit made me totally changed that. There was this black woman with red braided hair working in cooked meat area. She was chatting endlessly for over 30 minutes with the other customer ( only 2 customers there) around 6pm on 4/12/2022. And when being waved need help this black lady was so mad and yelled back " I am talking to a cusotmer". After the other customer left, this woman just stood there doing nothing other than intentionally giving me that " I am busy" look instead of coming and getting the food for me when I asked her the 2nd time. It was 6:30pm by then and I waited over half an hour just to get her to help me to get those grilled chicken to feed my family and my kids were in the car waiting for me. It was more than I could expect. I then left empty handed and regretly said" Sorry I don't buy my food here". It's not the right way a customer being treated. It''s not the place for me any more... Very disappointed....

This Jewel is my favorite in the area. They stock items I can't find in other Jewel stores. Always clean and friendly and I like that there's only one entrance and exit for cars coming in off of 55th. You don't have crazy traffic coming in from multiple driveways. Their fresh market is incredible too. Love the buy one get one near the meats, try the lobster mac and cheese entrees, just pop it in the oven and dinner is ready! Yummy 😋

Getting better....they remodeled the store so it looks nice. Jewel is a little expensive so i really miss my aurora meijer, but it is too convenient for those last minute items. Cashiers can be a little grumpy at times but I've heard they work long hours so you can't really blame them...They installed self checkouts which really helps the long wait times that occur during peak times but even the self checkout out computer voice is grumpy, yelling out the price i paid, how much i saved and demanding i scan items faster! But hey , i ended up getting out of there faster than i would have had i waited in the long line at 9:30pm. Just scan, get moving and read prices carefully....i almost paid 13 bucks for a bag of cherries! Yikes!

This Jewel is "small", "very small". I can walk to the store, so that's the main reason for 4 stars. But, based on this being a Jewel does not come close to the "Jewel" standards. The staff is Fantastic.Another reason for a 4-Star is because for a store of this size Jewel should recognize it doesn't have space for all the merchandise on display. Barely enough room to 2 carts too easily get down there isles and 2 carts CANNOT pass each other.I Like/Love my local Jewel because it's so close I can walk to the store. But, it's just got way too much merchandise.Here's a 5-Star feature, "Grocery Pickup". This is literally a life saver for me for those occasions where is quite difficult to walk. My hats off to Jewel for providing this service.

This store is right down the street from my house so I'm in here a few times a week. It's a good grocery store. Produce is fresh and the meat is good. Prices are right and sales are frequent. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Lines can get long after work and mid day Sunday but that's pretty standard for grocery stores. I will continue to shop here.
