My dog and I both love coming in for a grooming refresh with Theresa. My dog is a rescue so his first initial sessions were rough. He'd bite, thrash, growl—it's taken work. Theresa was so patient with him as he got used to getting the spa treatment. Now, he wags his tail whenever we walk in and his tail really gets going when he sees Theresa.It took a minute to find a style that suited him and Theresa was very gracious in the experimentation. Nowadays, we've nailed his style: bell bottoms with long pigtails and a feathered tail. He loves getting a treat for good behavior at checkout and even struts with eye glances at strangers when we head home (seriously, look at the photos). Theresa's also vigilant in offering whatever seasonal special/scent is available. Going to the groomer is always a fun experience for us.Employee numbers usually run low so I'd recommend coming in with a more relaxed temperament; extend some grace to fellow workers, please! We're going on 3 years as loyal customers and I'm grateful Theresa invested in a relationship with my dog.

Very nice groom for my Porty. Priced reasonably.My dog has a chicken allergy and the staff there was extremely helpful and patient helping me go through ingredient lists. I also found out they have an app that can really help with finding the right products safe for any allergies a pet may have.

Great place as it is quite convenient in River North. And, if you need anything from Ace Hardware it is directly next door. Petco staff is always helpful to questions about my cat. And, even better is that parking is available and free with validation within either store.

Teddy and I enjoy shopping at this local Petco. They have exactly what we need and the customer service is excellent. Yaritza is usually there to check us out and never fails to spoil Ted with some treats! The only reason I am taking away a star is due to the location. This store is located next to an Ace Hardware which apparently staffs employees who think it’s okay to harass Petco’s customers. I have had a couple encounters that simply did not make me feel welcomed in the building. I’d be happy to address the issue with management, but until then I am going to be going to Kriser’s (above and beyond customer service and no one harassing you or your pet). Here’s a pic of Teddy so y’all know what you’re missing ;)

Came in a bit frantic trying to get a carrier for a malnourished stray cat we found. The team here was amazing and helped me get one so we could bring her safely to the vet. I wish I had gotten the woman’s name who helped me as she was so helpful and knowledgeable! We really appreciate you!

I just moved to Chicago recently and was in need of a groomer as the dog groomers closer to me continuously canceled on me numerous times. I’m incredibly happy with the full grooming experience at this location on N Orleans St. The groomers here are very sweet and diligent with my dog!

Not a great source for aquarium needs. The "live" plants were decaying and turning to slime in their packages. There was no one working the register and I had to search for an employee to check me out. Shelves did not seem to be restocked. There were a nice variety of dog and cat options, but would not recommend this store beyond dog and cat supplies.

Got our labradoodle groomed and they did pretty much all we asked for, but some spots were missed and gave the feeling the service was a little rushed. The staff is extremely friendly.

I’ve tried a few locations and this one is the best. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they truly love the dogs that come in. My dog is spoiled when he’s there - they give him pets, treats, and I can tell they really care about him. The store is always stocked well and easy to navigate, and the grooming area is great. I get the essentials grooming package which is pricy, but worth it. They shower my dog with love and I can tell they took their time with a quality session. I always book my next appt right away.

I order a bag from the petco app . I brought a bag of halo lamb flavor from this location. Once we open the bag this morning it had worms inside the bag. It was disgusting seeing that in my dogs, dog food.

Mike in the Grooming dept is the absolute best. Bella loves him and is always happy when its grooming time. Highly recommend the Groomers and store staff as a whole, everyone is kind and helpful and truly love pets.

This is the only place I can find live feeder bugs in the city but they’re always at least 50% dead. I know that’s probably not what most people come here for but I don’t really get why they even say they have live bugs in stock if they’re just 1-2 month old containers of dead or dying insects. Only thing that looks like it’s regularly replaced is the crickets.

I live right around the corner from this location and it has been great. I’ve dropped of my pup for grooming, I’ve done training classes here and stopped in for a quick item or two. Everyone is always so nice. Service has been great. Wish they carried some more stuff for dogs; selection is not great.

I was quoted $35 for my pet’s grooming fees, $65 later we left. We have been many times with great service and always buy our pet food, toys, etc. from here but we won’t be any longer. I was underquoted for the services which I wasn’t initially upset about because prices change. It was a waiting service so I waited for my pet to be done and the tech was great (Therese). I tipped 25% because I was very happy and it’s the holiday season. Then I got a few toys and had my parking validated. I tried to exit the lot however it said I owed $10 so I figured it was just a mistake. I re-parked and loaded my dog out of the car and headed back inside. Their elevator was broken so we had to take the stairs. I told the associates up front that my ticket mustn’t have been validated. The associate said “now it costs $10 if you are there for more than thirty minutes” and nothing else was said. I paid and left and was very annoyed with my $35 trip turning into a $65 trip. I contacted the store and the person I spoke to said I should have spoken to a manger/employee and they would’ve taken care of it, which I did. All the person, who must’ve been the manager, did was say she’d talk to the employees. I was obviously very angry and annoyed about the situation, I admit, but who wouldn’t be? Sadly, nothing was solved and we won’t be back.

Kaytlyn is not only an amazing groomer, but also a wonderful person. My dog hates water and got too big for me to bathe on my own, so I started taking her to Petco Grooming. Each time she is anxious, but lights up the moment she receives so much love from Kaytlyn. My pup is big and energetic and often misunderstood, and Kaytlyn has shown her unconditional love. She also humors all of my weird questions wondering if this bump or that dry patch on my dog is normal. We trust her completely and she’s one of the only people I would feel completely confident watching my pup. She has become part of our family.

Thumbs ALL THE WAY UP for Tabrina, who, in addition to stepping away from the register to double-check a price for what appeared to be a clearance item that was ringing up full price (it was misshelved), GAVE ME A DISCOUNT FOR A TOTALLY SEPARATE ITEM when the Petco app wasn't allowing me to do Price Match. She is a Saint, a blessing, a nice person, and a hero of our time.

Employee gave our dog a harness and fitted it to her size and told us this was the perfect size. Two days later (after we tightened the harness ourselves) she slipped out of it and almost got hit by a car. Not cool. Employees should be better trained.

Dawn, Chloes groomer is amazing! She is really kind and leaves Chloe looking phenomenal each time. She’s always able to squeeze me in and finishes with Chloe so quickly. The dog trainer is awesome too! I told her Chloe loves bacon and she suggested me buy your turkey bacon for dogs which Chloe is in love with! Everyone else is always really kind and greets me with a smile. Will recommend to everyone!

Brought our pup here for quick nail trim. Staff were so nice and sweet, great and quick service, friendly. Easy to use dog tag machine. Variety of dog treats, got some animal parts. Will come again!

The store is nice and validates parking, but the best part is the grooming. We have tried quite a few groomers and our dog usually seems a bit upset and the cut is never what we ask for. We have a Cockapoo and prefer for her to not get the "poodle cut". The groomers here have groomed her perfectly and our dog seems totally unaffected when she comes home. Highly recommend!!!!

the staff here is so extremely friendly and helpful! one time i didn't even ask for help, and an associate carried all of my items (which were heavy) up, and out to my car for me. she waited until i unlocked the doors and even put them in the trunk for me. i love going to this petco! they also have adorable kittens for adoption!
